Chapter 41 Lessons

Chapter 41 Lessons
She felt a hand on her shoulder, and before she could feel any joy, still savoring the warmth of the hand, a sudden sense of weightlessness washed over her, and a look of bewilderment crossed her eyes.

In an instant, Kitagawa Ayane fell backward, her face blank, and her bottom slammed onto the foam mat with a "thud".

The shock and bewilderment were not even a fraction as intense as the heartache of being pushed away.

She gazed at the smooth ceiling, bathed in the warm midday sun.

Her cheeks were burning hot, but her fingertips were cold.

Kitagawa Ayane slowly sat up, supporting herself on a cushion. Her brows furrowed, and she lowered her beautiful eyes, looking at Lin Ze with pain and confusion in them.

Her long legs, encased in pantyhose, were crossed and pressed together, with one elbow supporting her on the ground.

Lin Ze's expression was much colder than before.

His eyes were calm.

Kitagawa Ayane, unwilling to give up, stepped forward again and rubbed against his trouser leg, trying to gain some sympathy by begging for pity. Even in this dazed state, she could still sense Lin Ze's feelings.

Just from his expression, Kitagawa Ayane could tell that Dr. Hayashi was very unhappy.

From Lin Ze's perspective.

He could see that his senior's pain threshold was rising rapidly, approaching the very top of the red line. If it continued to rise, it would soon break through the limit and burn her body. At that point, it wouldn't be as simple as hallucinations; the critical illness value would rise along with the breakthrough of the limit.

So many days of hard work.

It finally dropped by 1%.

Lin Ze suddenly felt a moment of mental exhaustion.

It is foreseeable that if the senior student had consistently followed the doctor's orders and carried them out diligently, it would never have taken nearly two months for her condition to deteriorate to a treatable level.

In the quiet equipment room.

Under Kitagawa Ayane's gaze, he slowly reached out his hand, but instead of landing on her head, his hand pinched her soft cheeks, despite her expectant look.

Her cheeks, with their elastic skin, were squeezed and sunken inwards, her rosy lips turned into a goldfish mouth, and her eyes widened in disbelief.

"Woo-"

The senior student let out two sobs.

She didn't know if it was the pain of being pinched or Lin Ze's cold expression that frightened her.

the end.

A sigh escaped Lin Ze's lips.

He knew he had to teach Kitagawa Ayane a lesson; he couldn't always treat her so gently, or she would never learn her lesson.

But not at this moment.

At the very least, we need to get her back to a level where she can communicate; only then will it be of any use.

Thinking this, Lin Ze released his hands from her cheeks and helplessly placed them on the top of her head, gently rubbing them for a while.

After so many treatments, his movements became more and more skillful, and he could easily make Kitagawa-senpai feel safe and happy when he patted her head. Then, it was obvious that her breathing became more stable.

He continued until his fingers touched her neck, gently rubbing it a few times.

She squinted her eyes slightly, as if looking up at the sunlight.

Her long eyelashes trembled slightly.

From Lin Ze's perspective, the pain threshold bar next to Kitagawa Ayane's forehead showed a downward trend, declining from a critical condition, albeit very slowly.

The senior seemed to think it wasn't enough; just this was too tempting. Lin Ze would brush his finger against her, and she would quickly press closer, trying to get more contact. After a few rounds of this, Lin Ze could feel the restlessness in her heart.

In reality, its tail was already leaving afterimages, never stopping for a moment.

Lin Ze knew she was anxious, but the baseline threshold was too high, and lowering it wouldn't be a quick process. The fact that it was already showing a downward trend was a good thing...

suddenly.

Kitagawa Ayane lay on the ground, her arms and legs bent, facing the ceiling.

Before Lin Ze could understand what she was going to do, the senior student suddenly grabbed the hem of her clothes.

Be caught off guard.

She lifted it up.

Her smooth, flat abdomen was revealed, and her fair skin had the soft, delicate complexion of a young girl.

Lin Ze was stunned for a moment.

Then, he suddenly understood what his senior meant.

So he placed his palm on her and rubbed her abdomen.

A long, satisfied sigh escaped her throat, mixed with sticky moaning sounds.

She was extremely tired.

The warm palms felt like holding a ball of fire, which was then crushed, spread out, and kneaded, its warmth spreading to every part of the body. However, this happiness came to an abrupt end at a certain moment.

Before Kitagawa Ayane could fully enjoy it, the hand left. As the heat in her abdomen gradually subsided, she opened her eyes, her beautiful eyes filled with a sense of loss.

She propped herself up and looked at Lin Ze again.

Time passed by minute by minute.

During this long eye contact, to the senior's disappointment, Lin Ze showed her no pity whatsoever. Instead, he took out a book from his bag and continued reading.

With a "whoosh," the page turned.

He was focused and dedicated.

Kitagawa Ayane carefully observed Lin Ze's expression and gradually realized that she might have offended him in some way, but after thinking it over, she was not sure.

She still harbored a strong desire to continue the treatment process, yet dared not be too presumptuous in taking the initiative.

Kitagawa pursed her lips and hesitated for a moment.

In the end, she still decided to bump Lin Ze's leg with her little head to stop him from continuing to read in peace, hoping to get Lin Ze's attention in this way.

Complete the unfinished treatment.

After a while.

"You can clearly speak now, so why are you pretending to be unconscious?" Lin Ze suddenly said.

Kitagawa Ayane stiffened for a moment, and her cheeks immediately flushed.

“Dr. Lin…” She looked at Lin Ze with pleading eyes, and said with a heavy heart, “Why are you not continuing the treatment? I feel… my condition is still not good.”

"What's the point of this kind of treatment? It only gives you a few days of lucidity, and you'll never be cured. You might as well give up now," Lin Ze said as he flipped through the book.

"But our treatment is quite effective, isn't it?" she asked tentatively.

Lin Ze slammed the book shut.

"If that's your attitude, then I'm leaving."

As he spoke, he got up and picked up his schoolbag.

As Kitagawa Ayane watched him actually take a step to leave, almost instinctively, she rushed over and hugged Lin Ze's leg.

Then release.

She realized she had lost her composure.

"Dr. Lin, I was wrong."

"Where did you go wrong?"

"I have no idea……"

"Then no need to talk."

Kitagawa Ayane was suddenly startled for a moment. She began to recall what wrong things she had done, and after a while, she felt more and more guilty, and her eyes began to look complicated.

Because it seems like she hasn't done many things right.

An eerie silence fell over the equipment room.

"I'm sorry," the senior student said softly.

Lin Ze looked at her calmly, then sat back down in his chair. He looked down at Kitagawa Ayane, but in reality, he felt helpless.

This was not what he wanted to hear.

What's the point of a half-hearted apology?

“I…” she bit her lip.

“You can’t even do something as simple as making a decision, and you’re trying to fool me with this diary full of holes,” Lin Ze picked up the diary and threw it in front of her. “I don’t believe you only write these few sentences a day. What about your feelings about the illness? What about the process of suppressing hallucinations? You don’t have a single real thought… I’m very disappointed in you.”

With each sentence he spoke, the senior student lowered her head a little, until it was almost down to her neckline.

"All I want is an attitude," Lin Ze said calmly.

Kitagawa Ayane didn't dare to speak, nervously clutching the hem of her clothes, like a child who had done something wrong, obediently accepting a scolding.

She hadn't expected her prepared diary entries to be discovered, which made her even more afraid of Lin Ze.

"The greatest honesty a person can have is honesty with themselves."

He continued, "You've been lying to yourself. I don't like this. If I find out again, the treatment will be delayed by ten minutes, and you can beg me no matter what."

Upon hearing this, Kitagawa Ayane immediately raised her cheek.

Her cheeks flushed bright red.
