Chapter 9 Waaagh! ! !

As the stormbird flock swept across the nesting city, Company Commander Gawain immediately realized what had happened there.

A nuclear explosion, and multiple explosions simultaneously triggered from within the hive, was necessary to destroy a structure of the hive's size into a semi-buried state. When he stepped onto the hive ruins, the residual radiation detected by his power armor confirmed Gawain's conjecture.

However, an even bigger question arises: why a nuclear explosion?
As a seasoned civil engineer, Gawain may not like building bunkers, but he has a great fondness for civilian architecture throughout human history and knows how sturdy the nests passed down from the Old Night Era are.

According to my father, they once fought on Titan against the maddened Abomination Intelligence, which means that the hive was destroyed in a mad age even older than the Old Night.

Given the technology available to humanity at the time, there were many other, more efficient ways to carry out the explosions, rather than using such outdated, low-yield nuclear bombs in series.

"Therefore, the only explanation is that he had no choice but to use a nuclear bomb to take everyone down with him."

As the Second Legion's first military mission, every Space Marine wanted to impress the Father of Genesis, and Mordred, not pretending to know what he was doing, handed over command to Goff, who still needed time to learn.

As Gawain's conjecture was relayed through internal communications, Goff immediately ordered the Stormbirds' onboard high-powered detectors to illuminate the ruins.

Soon, countless high-energy red dots filled the holographic image and appeared in front of Mordred, who was wearing an oversized Iron Cavalry Terminator armor.

"Father?"

"Why are you looking at me like that? I'm just a common soldier right now, you're the commander! Go ahead and do it, let me see what you're capable of."

"Don't worry, Father, I won't let you down." Goff felt much more at ease. Not only did others want to prove themselves, but he did too.

Out of caution, the reconnaissance team did not act rashly, but instead called on engineers to set up drilling rigs on the outer wall of the nest, preparing to use thermal melting to open a path, and first dropping a few probes in.

As the plasma melting process begins, the iron concrete that makes up the nest structure turns into boiling steam, gradually exposing the metal skeleton buried beneath the outer shell.

As time passed, a square opening for the knight to enter and exit was cut out, and several servo skulls were thrown into it.

With the help of the visualization module of the servo skull, everyone saw the interior of this nest city that had been sealed for at least four thousand years. As expected, there were no living creatures inside, only metal skeletons intertwined with human remains.

Just as the servo skull was preparing to continue its in-depth exploration, a sudden change occurred, and intermittent, piercing electronic sounds rang out.

Accompanied by a piercing alarm, the robots, resembling wrecked remains, awoke once more. Dangerous red light flashed from their human-like eye structures as they charged towards the crowd like zombies.

Now there was no need to sneak around anymore. The roar of the explosive guns instantly rang out, giving these freaks no chance to suddenly attack and hurt people. Atlas, who had already set up positions at the cave entrance, immediately began to unleash firepower.

Lasers, explosives, and deadly hot plasma shot out, instantly annihilating the first batch of machines to awaken.

The Sentinels, corroded by oxidation, couldn't withstand the barrage of fire. After testing the enemy's strength, the Space Marines, who had been itching to charge, began their rampage, including Mordred, who considered herself a hero unit.

"The entire army will launch an attack to clear the target area and protect the auxiliary forces in establishing forward outposts."

"Goff gave the order," came the reply. "Roger that, Commander!"

Warriors clad in Terminator armor began their charge, using ion shields and heavy armor as cover for their comrades, while the rest of the soldiers advanced in a dispersed manner. Even though they had never acted in unison, Atlas, who had returned from studying in various legions, was no pushover.

The Space Marines' exceptional combat skills allow each individual to find the most suitable position without needing commands, and their exaggerated physical abilities and reaction speed are the best guarantee for their combat prowess.

boom! boom!
The metal debris flew high into the air, then crashed heavily to the ground, eventually being trampled into pieces by the combat boots.

In the instant the explosion ended, the high-speed spinning chainsaw pierced the sentry's torso and cleaved the enemy in two amidst flying sparks.

"Continue to advance, with auxiliary troops taking over the clearing area and knights deployed for heavy weapons support."

Perhaps because of the small number of troops, or perhaps because of the habits he developed while studying at the 13th Army Corps, Goff's command was characterized by a steady and methodical approach, like waves crashing one after another.

While maintaining a steady and methodical approach, Goff also employed flexibility, deploying heavily armed troops to launch multi-pronged attacks, using a swift raid to divide the battlefield, and then seizing the opportunity to sever ties and achieve local annihilation.

Through the internal network, Mordred could see the exact location of each of his offspring, and combined with Goff's battlefield command, he began to learn this skill at lightning speed.

Mordred is not omniscient or omnipotent, and his future enemies will not be savages. After realizing that he is now the planet's ruler, a sense of responsibility he had never felt before puts him under pressure.

Based on simple values, Mordred believed that since they called him father and legion commander, he had an obligation to bring them a good future.

Mordred moved forward in silence, the sounds of a large number of machines assembling filling his ears.

He raised his palm, signaling his descendants behind him to stop.

Soon, several shells whistled through the air, obliterating the wall and the sentry behind it. For some unknown reason, the building was shattered, revealing a wider space behind it.

As the verdant plains emerged, Mordred and his guards vanished, escaping the Sentinels' deadly barrage, causing a brief pause in the mechanical guard's thought process.

But Mordred wouldn't bother explaining. With a swing of her greatsword, the decaying steel head shattered into fragments, which rolled to the ground in the flash of the gun muzzle.

The weasel was right. Although he was essentially a Frankenstein's monster, it didn't mean he was a complete waste. He was omnipotent, and so was his Atlas.

"Where the heavens tilt, my name will be revealed; we raise high the firmament, we are Atlas."

"My little ones, follow me and charge! Crush them!"

The connection stemming from blood energies excites each warrior. Inspired by the Father of Genetics, the wildness within them is unleashed, and an indescribable, peculiar power surges within each of them.

Mordred felt himself getting stronger, and indeed he was. His speed was increasing, his spatial jumps were becoming more and more skillful, and every swing of his greatsword would blast his enemies into pieces, with cool emerald green lightning even appearing on them.

Not only that, every Atlas felt the surge of power, so much so that all sorts of howls and screams could be heard throughout the internal communications system, shouting "This is power!!!"

But they soon became dissatisfied with this. Driven by their wild instincts, some Space Marines, their armor gleaming with green light, began to howl loudly in the ruins:
Waaagh!!!
Waaagh!!

Mordred: Hmm (#°Д°) This isn't right, is it?
