Chapter 33 Adventures in Snow Mountains
Chapter 33 Adventures in Snow Mountains
Cleveland stared blankly at the mysterious yet elegant presence before him.
He had never seen such a creature before.
Cleveland opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but couldn't find any words to describe the creature in front of him.
Is it Warcraft?
No… that arrogant demeanor and the immense power to freeze even the air, it’s more accurate to describe it as a “god” than a magical beast.
Suddenly, Cleveland heard a melodious chirping sound, as beautiful as heavenly music.
“Buxiyi!”
Immediately afterwards, he saw the mysterious creature in front of him flap its wings, which shimmered with ice crystals and snowflakes, turn around, and fly off in one direction.
Its flowing, ice-blue tail traced a graceful arc in the sky.
In an instant, the snowflakes that had been frozen in mid-air began to fall again.
But the heavy snow suddenly parted, creating a clear, snowless vacuum in the middle!
Gazing at this miraculous sight, an unbelievable guess suddenly popped into Cleveland's mind.
—This mysterious creature is guiding him!
At that moment, a strong will to survive suddenly surged within Cleveland.
This belief compelled him to stand up again and stagger towards the "snowless road".
One step, two steps, three steps...
As he drew closer, he could see the territory in the distance.
But Cleveland, who had not eaten or drunk anything for a long time, eventually collapsed on the snow.
The figure of that mysterious creature had vanished into the heavy snow at some point.
"Still not working?" Cleveland murmured to himself.
He closed his eyes, feeling his strength gradually draining away.
However, at that moment, Cleveland suddenly felt something fall beside him.
The other's paws crunched on the snow.
"Milli?"
A wild monster attacked him!
Cleveland opened his eyes abruptly, but the next second, he saw a red monster with a hollow tail looking down at him.
The monster's face and chest were covered in white feathers, and the most eye-catching feature was the white package it clutched in its paws.
He looked just like Santa Claus from the story.
The messenger bird tapped the human with its wing, but the human didn't react at all.
The messenger bird looked troubled.
Just today, it had intended to leave the nest to find and store more food.
Unexpectedly, halfway there, they saw a lone human walking on the vast snow-covered mountain.
The messenger bird noticed that the creature seemed to be without food, and worried that it might starve to death, so it followed it.
It saw the human suddenly collapse, so it quickly flew down to check on the situation.
"Lili..." This person seems to be a little dead...
But the next second, it saw the man open his eyes.
"Lili!"
The messenger bird was startled, but seeing that the other bird was still alive, it couldn't help but feel happy for it.
"Lili!"
The messenger bird patted the man with its wing, then took out two fruits it had painstakingly searched for from its pack and placed them in front of him.
"Lili!" Eat up! You'll have energy when you're full!
After sharing the food, the messenger bird flapped its wings and happily turned to leave.
After the food has been distributed to humans, it still needs to find some more to store.
Cleveland stared blankly at the back of the bird-like monster.
He was so hungry that he picked up the fruit and started eating it in big bites.
With food to fill his stomach, Cleveland regained some strength.
He looked in the direction the bird-like monster had left with a complicated expression.
Did he get help from Warcraft?
But there was no time to think about it further; he hadn't even returned to his territory yet.
Having barely filled his stomach, Cleveland stood up and staggered onward toward the territory. He didn't know how long he had walked; so long that his limbs were numb with cold, and he could only keep going by his survival instinct.
Cleveland!
"Uncle!"
Suddenly, Cleveland heard Ryan and Christina's voices.
He looked up and saw a group of people running towards him.
Finally...we've arrived...
Cleveland could no longer hold on and collapsed onto the snow with a thud, losing consciousness.
"..."
Cleveland had another dream.
In his dream, he saw again the mysterious creature that had suddenly appeared before him and guided him in the right direction.
"call!"
Cleveland suddenly opened his eyes.
But they found themselves back in their territory.
He was lying in a small wooden cabin, where a charcoal fire was burning brightly, making the whole room warm and cozy.
Ryan and Christina were by his side, and when they saw him wake up, their faces were filled with joy:
"you're awake!"
A look of bewilderment crossed Cleveland's face.
"You've been missing for three days!" Seeing her companion wake up, Christina breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Thank goodness, Uncle, it's so good that you're alright!"
Cleveland looked at his bandaged arm and couldn't help but mutter, "What happened?"
Ryan stood to the side with his arms crossed and explained:
"That day, Christina and I returned to the territory safely. When Prince Raven learned that you had stayed behind to fight off the monsters, he immediately sent his knights into the mountains to search for you. They eventually found you unconscious in a snowy field."
Prince Raven...
Recalling the ordeal of the trip, Cleveland immediately jumped out of bed and asked, "Did you report your discoveries along the way to Prince Raven?"
"We haven't had time yet." Christina said somewhat embarrassedly. They had gone back into the snow mountain as soon as they returned. Thinking of Prince Raven, she said with some worry, "I hope His Highness won't blame us!"
Cleveland: "..."
He stood up and said to the two of them, "I'm fine now. Let's go and report our findings to Prince Raven!"
Raven was in the tent with his old butler, Elif, taking stock of the remaining supplies in the territory.
Seeing Ryan and his companion enter, he was somewhat surprised: "Is Cleveland still not awake?"
Before the two could answer, Raven saw Cleveland walk in: "Your Highness, I have awakened!"
Raven glanced at his arm and asked, "How are you feeling?"
“It’s much better now, Your Highness, there’s no need to worry,” Cleveland replied.
“Okay, then you should rest well for the time being, and we’ll talk about everything else after you’ve recovered,” Raven said.
"Yes!"
“Your Highness Raven…” Christina handed over the book with maps and depictions of magical beasts, saying nervously, “This is the task you assigned us. Please forgive us for only giving it to you now. We are very sorry!”
"Don't be so nervous." Raven reached out and took the book, chuckling, "I know you were worried about Cleveland, so you forgot about this. It's good that everything's alright."
Christina breathed a sigh of relief. His Highness was truly kind!
Raven opened the book.
The first page prominently featured a Pokémon that looked very familiar to him.
It was a small Pokémon that looked like a little turtle, with many hollow holes in its red shell.
—Pot.
Christina wrote down the pot's personality and reactions below.
[An unknown monster, timid by nature, hides under rocks and is not aggressive. If we approach, it will retract its head and limbs into its shell.]
"There really is a Potpot?" Raven was pleasantly surprised. In that case, they could tame the Potpot next spring and entrust it with the task of brewing tree juice.
Ordinary tree fruits, after being fermented in pots, will turn into tree juice that can restore physical strength, and the effect is far greater than that of ordinary tree fruits.
Raven nodded in satisfaction.
Just as he was about to turn to the next page, Cleveland said:
"Your Highness Raven, there is something I would like to report to you!"
