Infinite Gods Reign Supreme
Chapter 2 Aliens and Predators
Chapter 2: Aliens and Predators
There was a moment of silence in the air.
The fashionable woman stopped screaming, and the chubby guy's hand, which had been clutching his throat, froze in mid-air. Meanwhile, the new members of the Reincarnation Squad, who had been jolted awake from their hospital beds, stared in disbelief at the clearly severed neck of the young man, trembling with fear.
“Kill…” A woman who looked like a housewife trembled uncontrollably. “Murder—!”
She screamed in terror and rushed out of the ward into the corridor, yelling loudly.
"Help! Murder! There's a killer here!"
She yelled at the nurses outside in the corridor.
She reached out, trying to grab the nurse's collar.
Then--
She froze in mid-air.
I couldn't touch the nurse with my hand.
My feet couldn't leave the ward.
A resilient, golden light screen, as supple as glue, materialized before everyone's eyes as she tried to escape the ward. No matter how much she struggled or screamed, she could not escape from the barrier of this light screen.
The newlyweds quieted down.
They realized something, something terrifying. What was happening to them had clearly defied the laws of reality. Yet, if it was the work of ghosts and spirits, then those who could perhaps be called 'ghosts and spirits' were, in their eyes, inanimate objects.
Si Ming's eyes shifted.
He glanced at the wristwatch on his wrist; the exact information was already marked on the black and white screen.
"Main Mission: Survive for 6 hours and board the evacuation helicopter before the countdown ends. Penalty for failure: None." He read the message aloud. He noticed that the six-hour countdown below remained unchanged.
Everything hadn't even begun yet. He vaguely remembered a fundamental rule from the first generation of the original ancestors—
"What is the Supreme God?" he asked casually, but everyone present heard him.
The chubby boy, who was clutching his throat, suddenly brightened up, about to say something. But Si Ming was one step ahead.
"...I see. So, as long as I think along the lines of the term 'God,' I can recall the content?"
This is indeed the case.
When he uttered the word "God," thought about it, and extended his thinking to the question 'What is God?', the corresponding answer naturally appeared in his mind.
The reply told him that the Supreme God was a great being that transcended infinite worlds. This great being, for some reason, selected individuals from various worlds. Those chosen and who responded to its call became reincarnators, traversing numerous reincarnation worlds and completing various tasks. Each time the main quest of a world was completed, the reincarnator could return to a resting space with generous rewards. Then, another battle would begin.
The cause and effect were basically the same as those he already knew. And after this verbal prompt, the solemn and dignified voice once again echoed in his ears.
—[Basic information explanation completed. Reincarnator Siming. 200 reward points awarded.]
it is as expected.
He glanced back at the heavily armed chubby guy, a half-smile on his face. He reached out and, amidst the latter's fear and stiffness, pulled a pistol from his belt. The model of that gun looked vaguely familiar to Si Ming.
"Samurai Blade, Albert's modified version. Quite retro." He easily captured fragments of memory. The growth and compositing of his soul allowed him to clearly recall every scene from his past experiences.
"This...this is my gun..." the heavily armed chubby guy murmured. He even showed a tiny hint that he wanted to make a move.
interesting.
Even in the first-generation God Space, a pistol wouldn't cost more than 10 reward points. Compared to the guaranteed 1,000 points for completing a single main quest, that's negligible. Unless, of course, this gun is special.
The safety immediately went off, and Si Ming raised his hand. He pointed the trigger forcefully at the ear of the heavily armed chubby boy, towards the empty hospital bed behind him.
'Rat-a-tat-tat-tat—' The gun fired, a total of eighteen shots. They hit the blankets and pillows on the hospital bed, while the Samurai Blade's maximum magazine capacity should be fifteen.
The spent cartridge case was ejected, but the weight of the gun remained unchanged.
It's a special weapon with unlimited ammo. Its price is more than ten times that of a regular firearm.
“You just tried to point a gun at me,” Si Ming said calmly, engaging the safety of the pistol and slipping it into his casual pants pocket. He then reached out and patted Si Ming on the shoulder. “This is the price. Do you accept it?”
If he disagreed, he would face the consequences. Because a dark aura had already been silently slapped into the little fat man's shoulder blade.
This aura won't last long.
This is just a simple application of fighting spirit.
The heavily armored chubby boy was pale, his eyes filled with terror. He stood rooted to the spot, too afraid to move.
“Very good.” Si Ming nodded.
He is now rightfully the leader of this reincarnation team.
His gaze then shifted, sweeping over the newlyweds. Including the deceased and the living veterans, there were nine people in the ward.
"Has anyone seen the movie 'Alien vs. Predator 2'? Please tell me about it."
He had actually seen the movie, but he knew he was probably a random being from an extradimensional, even higher-dimensional, source. His version might differ from the version the people here had seen. So he'd better listen to what the local reincarnators had to say. One second, two seconds. The newcomers exchanged glances, while the veterans remained silent.
It was understandable that the veterans were unaware, precisely because of their initial surprise and confusion. Only then did Si Ming realize that none of them held captain-level authority, nor had anyone unlocked their genetic locks. Their highest enhancement level wouldn't exceed C-grade, and everything was operating exactly as he had predicted.
However, the newcomers...
He frowned slightly.
The act of frowning may have had a certain deterrent effect.
“I, I know!” A student wearing glasses timidly raised his hand and spoke under his gaze.
"I've seen it, I've seen the movie. It wasn't released until December—it's about the Xenomorph that parasitized the Predator in the post-credits scene of the first movie, which hatched inside a Predator spaceship. Then it caused chaos, and the spaceship crashed to Earth. Then a Predator Xenomorph and a bunch of facehuggers escaped from the wreckage..."
He swallowed hard and tried his best to recount the details he knew.
"Two hunters were parasitized and died. Then came the homeless people in the sewers... and then the Predator mothership sent a Predator to clean up the mess. After inspecting the wreckage, it went to hunt down the Xenomorphs. Oh, and it blew up the ship too."
"Then...then the Predator and the Xenomorph fought in the sewers. During the fight, the Xenomorph ran away and went to the surface, parasitizing and killing people everywhere...first at fast food restaurants, then schools...the protagonist and the police first called the police, then went to a gun shop. The power plant was destroyed by the Predator, and then the army was wiped out by the Xenomorphs. A colonel said to send the survivors to the city center. But a female soldier with the protagonist didn't trust the army, so she led the remaining people to the hospital...yes, there was a helicopter above the hospital."
"Then the female protagonist was casually killed by the Predator in the hospital. They then opened fire on the Predator. The Predator and the Alien also had a final battle in the hospital. In the end, the male protagonist, the female soldier, and a few others boarded a helicopter. The Predator and the Predator-Alien also perished together on the rooftop. The army came and dropped a nuclear bomb, so everyone in the city except the male protagonist and his group died... That's roughly it."
He did try very hard to repeat it.
That is indeed roughly the plot of that movie.
Because of budget constraints or some other reason, this film made all the scenes very dark. As a result, ordinary viewers often only remember a few fight scenes and cannot recall the main human storylines and interpersonal conflicts that were originally unimportant in the film. But at least, the audience can still understand the cause and effect of everything.
Si Ming nodded.
"That's about what I know. So, the nuclear bomb should fall precisely in six hours." Si Ming glanced at the sky outside the window. It was around dusk. Night would soon fall, and the aliens would emerge from the ground.
"This is the hospital. The mission can only be completed by boarding the helicopter. You have two options. First, go to the rooftop right now and hide inside the helicopter until the deadline. Second, there is another helicopter at the airport. Find a car and go there immediately; you can get there within six hours."
He paused, his gaze sweeping over each person. He detected no trace of courage in them.
"If you stay here, it will probably be some time before the Xenomorphs show up. They might deliberately take a few extra steps because people are hiding on the rooftop, or they might stay inside the hospital and expand their population, as per the original story. If you choose to go to the airport, as long as you don't take the route past the power plant, you probably won't encounter Xenomorphs or Predators. However, the military responsible for blocking the news might discover you, or even run into you head-on."
"Both options carry risks. You will decide your own fate."
A silence.
The newlyweds looked at each other in bewilderment once again.
The fashionable woman who had been at a loss earlier seized the opportunity to speak up.
"Aren't you going to thank the master for pointing out the right path for you?" She stepped forward, almost touching Si Ming. Her beautiful face was full of obsequiousness and affectation that ruined her demeanor. "Whatever the master says, we will do."
She wanted to hold Si Ming's hand.
However, the next moment, Si Ming pushed her away forcefully. Because when she got close, he sensed a faint odor.
"Smells of the sea, stay away from me." The action was decisive, the words cold.
The fashionable woman, pushed aside, turned red and white. Tears welled up in her eyes. But in the end, she dared not do anything.
The bespectacled college student who initially stepped forward to explain the film's content boldly spoke up.
"And what about you? You...you're not going to care about us?"
"I have things I want to do." Si Ming used his toes to flip the young man's corpse over. After its head swept over the others, he unsurprisingly saw a stiffened one-tomoe eye in the obscured right eye. Clearly, this was a D-rank enhancement, at most DD-rank. It was quite fitting for a novice veteran who had only completed the main quest two or three times.
There's no need to waste time on them.
He's not very good at working with strangers either.
"Since we've been sent here, we're bound to encounter the aliens of this world sooner or later. Rather than staying here and resigning ourselves to fate, or stubbornly stalling for time, I prefer to take the initiative."
He reached out and removed the one-tomoe Sharingan. He didn't know if non-Hokage could hot-swap Sharingan, but keeping it was better than leaving it there.
The countdown on the wristwatch started.
A gentle breeze drifted through the ward, and the sounds of people outside in the corridor suddenly became lively.
The next moment, a newcomer who had been silent all along suddenly shouted and scrambled out of the corridor.
"Murder!" he shouted. "Call the police! Someone has been murdered here!"
It wasn't entirely unexpected.
Si Ming shook his head, ignoring both the newcomers and the old. He simply moved forward, embarking on a different path.
No one followed the road behind.
