This book's style is the complete opposite of my previous work, *The Corpse*, which has led many longtime fans to find it difficult to accept, which is understandable. From the outset, this book aimed for a lighthearted, mind-clearing experience, a point that can be seen in the protagonist's name. Of course, some heavy, somewhat melodramatic scenes were unconsciously added during the writing process, perhaps because I haven't fully detached myself from my previous work.

Let's talk about the book itself. After finishing my previous book, I went to the headquarters of Yuewen and met with the head of the company, Dragonfly, and my editor, Jiang Cha, to discuss this idea. At that time, their opinion, including that of many author friends, was that "it's interesting, but the results probably won't be very good." "Not very good" was a euphemism; everyone guessed that it wouldn't reach the level of a top-quality book, and would only reach a few hundred or even a few thousand in sales.

But as things stand, this has far exceeded expectations. I really have to thank my editor, Jiang Cha, for encouraging me to stick to what I wanted to write and for saying that if I were to write this idea, I definitely could. After the book started, she continued to give me feedback and said that my performance was already the best I could achieve with this subject matter, so I'm very grateful to her.

Then there's the beginning of this book, which was indeed revised many times. In its initial version, the protagonist didn't have this personality, and even the first female lead wasn't Liuli Hui, but Yan Le. Moreover, the story begins with a case where the entire police force is wiped out, and the protagonist, a trainee police officer, and the surviving Yan Le transform and fight against the enemy. That version was very fast-paced, but in practice, it felt rather mediocre. The excessive pace made it impossible to develop the characters; both the protagonist and the female lead were incredibly flat. It was revised many times, but it still didn't work. Finally, Jiang Cha decided on this entry point.

Finally, there's the male protagonist's personality, which is the most controversial aspect. But after trying it out, I found that if it weren't for this personality, the system would only allow for two characterization methods: one is the innocent, virgin type who gets shy with the girls during the fusion process, and the other is the womanizer type who makes collecting girls the main focus. However, both of these are actually quite mediocre; they're basically just characters who don't make mistakes. So, in the end, I chose the current one.

That's about it. I don't want to talk too much about the plot because my goal has always been to keep the plot simple. Let's talk about the updates instead.

As everyone knows, I don't have many drafts saved up, and I can only manage to come up with about 10,000 words tomorrow at most. However, I'd like to try updating more after the book is published. I've been writing full-time for almost ten years, and I've never managed to update 6,000 words a day for a month. I'm such a procrastinator.

So let's set a goal for this book. According to the backend data, there are nearly 7000 readers following this book. If the initial subscription is 3000 or less, then I will update 4,000 chapters per day as usual. If the initial subscription exceeds 1,000, I will update an additional 1,000 chapters per day.
