Chapter 504, Part 502: New Work Released
What are the benefits of fighting against the world's most evil wizard?
Sirius suddenly asked,
"I don't understand, Mysterious Man, that ruthless black demon who kills without blinking an eye, besides us, is there nothing left in the magical world but cowards and idiots..."
Why, prophet, please tolerate my temptation... a wizard capable of rivaling Merlin, would be willing to confront him?
I have never seen a wizard like you, a wizard with such extraordinary talent. Why do you want to be his enemy?
He probably doesn't even know you exist. No matter what happens to the magical world, you'll live a good life, won't you?
Several owls flew by in the darkness, and the streetlights flickered through the gaps in their feathers.
Under the moonlight, the wind rustled through the oak trees in Diagon Alley, and the bells on the shops jingled.
Sheen stared at the haggard man before him—his eyes burned with fire, and he stared at Sheen as if confirming something.
I attend Hogwarts.
Sheen said.
Sirius was momentarily stunned.
"Hogwarts is very good."
Sheen added.
"Feel sorry……"
Sirius frowned; he hadn't expected such an answer.
"Don't you understand, Mr. Black, that it takes far too many reasons to fight the most evil wizard in the world?"
Sheen stared into his eyes.
"Of course we need it!"
Sirius glanced at Regulus's pale corpse, his eyes filled with sorrow.
Sheen remained silent.
"It's rare to see wizards think like this, to perish alongside a school—it's hard to believe Hogwarts has such magic..."
Sirius muttered to himself
"Why is that, sir?"
"Mr. Black, you don't live in this house, do you?"
Sheen asked softly.
"certainly,"
Sirius said that although he was confused by the little wizard's words, he still walked to the end of the corridor with a strange trust in him.
At the very end, a tapestry covered the entire wall, depicting a woman who screamed upon seeing Sirius:
"You shameless bastard, you filthy bastard, the disgrace of your family, you vile scoundrel..."
The tapestry looks very old; the colors have faded, and it seems something has chewed through several places.
However, the gold thread embroidered on it still glittered, and they could clearly see a sprawling family tree that could be traced back to the Middle Ages.
Several large characters were embroidered on the top of the tapestry:
The oldest and noble Black family
Forever Pure
“I’m not up there,”
Sirius ignored Mrs. Black's screams and instead looked at the bottom line of the family tree.
"Although it was once up there."
Sirius Black then pointed to a small, charred hole on the tapestry, which looked like a cigarette burn mark.
"As Kreacher said, after I ran away from home, my dear old mother destroyed me—Kreacher loved to whisper this story."
Sheen listened quietly.
"I was about sixteen years old that year,"
Sirius said
"I'm done."
“You went to Mr. Potter’s house.”
Sheen said.
"Even now, I find it hard to believe that such magic really exists..."
Sirius looked at the young wizard and whispered...
Harry's grandparents were very understanding—I think you know him—they practically treated me like a second son.
Yes, I would stay at their house temporarily during school holidays, but when I turned seventeen, I found a place to live on my own.
My uncle Alpha left me a considerable amount of gold—he was also expelled from here, probably for that reason—anyway, I've been fending for myself ever since, though Mr. and Mrs. Potter always welcome me to their house for dinner every Saturday. So, why do you ask?"
Sirius asked.
"What if someone wanted to destroy Mr. Potter's house?"
Sheen asked.
"I will kill him!"
Sirius said in a hoarse voice.
He paused, then suddenly realized something.
“Harry, you and Harry, you guys…”
He was somewhat at a loss.
Only one type of person treats school like home, like Harry…
The night was quiet.
Sirius couldn't read anything from those bright green eyes; he only knew they were desolate and calm, like a deep ocean.
"Perhaps I've seen some stories end, and you'll know that they're not all that great."
Sheen said in a low voice that he always liked to talk more when the wind was blowing from afar.
"Predictions about the future never go wrong..."
Sirius was taken aback for a moment, then continued.
"Oh, so that was the first time."
Sheen smiled gently.
Sirius Black had never seen anyone like this before, someone who could inspire a vague sense of faith in him.
“My centaur teacher told me that fate is something that is very easy to misjudge.”
Sheen gazed at the distant mountains.
“Only those who have given their all are qualified to question fate, sir.”
Outside the window, in the distance of Diagon Alley, mountains stand tall, overlooking life and the densely packed houses crammed into the corner.
They lived in gray buildings, watching the day fade away and the night fall, plunging everything into a dark silence.
Then, the stars lit up.
The stars above them twinkled with eternal light.
"I need your help, but you know our task is extremely difficult."
The little wizard's silhouette was bathed in the new moon, gleaming with a soft white light.
"Of course... I'll do as you command."
Sirius's throat bobbed.
Nothing is more reassuring than obeying a prophet, and nothing is more exhilarating than following a mysterious and great wizard in defying fate.
Upon learning that he would not become their enemy, Sirius experienced a long-lost ecstasy.
He knew that tonight, his fate had made its choice.
……
Diagon Alley once again welcomed a long, sunny day.
Wizards everywhere were talking about Sirius's case, while Harry was taking Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts from Gringotts' underground vault.
After refilling his purse, he needed great willpower to restrain himself from spending all the money at once.
Diagon Alley was still bustling today, and my friends were already standing there early in the distance.
Harry looked closely and saw that everyone except Sheen had arrived.
Of course, it's quite common for Sheen to be absent, just as common as Professor Snape deducting his house points.
But they were all willing to wait for him, because everyone knew that he would definitely appear when they needed help.
Harry walked past Flourish and Blotts and found it already packed with wizards, with the wizards at the very back of the line dozens of meters away from the bookstore.
A huge banner was unfurled, which read:
[Scamander's final work officially released!]
I was suddenly called off with an urgent matter tonight, so I'm asking for a chapter off.
