Hogwarts Study Panel

Chapter 48: Flight Lesson Assessment

Chapter 48: Flight Lesson Assessment
in the corridor.

Sir Cadogan was trying to mount the pony in the painting.
Unfortunately,
He has spent countless years trying to accomplish this task, but to no avail.

So he rode his horse along, talking at length about Quidditch to Sheehan.
When he got excited, he slapped the horse's rump, and was then kicked into the shape of a shrimp, flying a long way.

Sheen silently prayed for him, then opened the panel:
[Name: Sheehan Green]

【Title: Potions Newbie】

[Slightly increases sensitivity to potions, slightly enhances potion-making talent]

As expected, Sheen nodded slightly and continued reading.

[Wizard Sheen, Potions Talent: Green (Potion Novice title added, original talent was White). Note: Normal wizards are green.]

[Advanced: Brewing three beginner-level potions will unlock a beginner-level title in the potion-making field]

Sheen didn't know if it was just psychological, but the moment his potion-making talent changed...
Thinking back to the previous cooking process, a lot of ideas suddenly popped into my head.
These ideas had never appeared in previous potion-making processes.

Sheen thought that magic might be such a wondrous thing—

It exists in the blood of wizards, granting them miracles powerful enough to alter reality.
A sufficiently talented wizard can even inherit vague knowledge from this bloodline.

If this isn't the case, then it's hard to explain how those vague books of experience in the magical world teach young wizards.

Thinking this, Sheen slowly raised his head.
The portraits in the corridor were almost all dozing off.
The setting sun shone through the Gothic stained-glass windows, illuminating Sir Cadogan's incessantly talking face.

No wonder the jazz came to bother me; it turns out everyone was dozing off.

"Sheen!"

Just then, Justin appeared in the lazy sunlight; it was unclear where he had come from.

They naturally placed a delicious-looking English crepe cake in Sheen's hands.

"A new flavor...please try it for me."

His grey-blue eyes narrowed.
"Oh, one more thing. Gryffindor and Slytherin's flying lessons have only just begun. Perhaps we could go and take a look?"

Hermione and I spent the whole day working on techniques, but I don't even know if she used them..."

……

It is 5:30 in the afternoon.
Sheehan and Justin walked down a slope of grass to a spot where they could see the Quidditch pitch.

The view here is excellent; you can see not only the young wizards in class, but also the shimmering Black Lake and the large pumpkin patch in front of Hagrid's hut.

"Look, Hermione seems to be flying quite well."
Oh, and that black-haired Gryffindor is also—wait, who's that? How did he fly so high in an instant?!

Justin stared wide-eyed as a fat wizard shot straight into the sky, muttering to himself...
Is this some kind of special training?

Obviously not.

Because Mr. Longbottom circled high in the air for a while, and then, with a terrified scream, his broom flew swiftly past a statue.
But Mr. Longbottom did not.
Because his clothes were caught on the statue's weapon, he himself was also suspended high in the air.

Just as everyone held their breath watching this breathtaking scene, Madam Huo Qi began chanting the incantation,
Mr. Longbottom exclaimed again—his clothes were torn by his weight!
Then came muffled shouts of "Ah," "Ow," and "Oh."

Mr. Longbottom smashed the torch, the wall, and finally crashed heavily to the ground.

Is he still alive?

Justin's voice was filled with worry.

"It'll be okay."

Sheehan comforted him in a low voice, saying that if he remembered correctly, Neville had only broken his wrist after falling from such a height.

This brings us to the fact that wizards possess physical attributes far exceeding those of ordinary people. Sheen even suspected that the brooms might not have any protective magic at all.

The wizards relied entirely on their physical strength to withstand wind resistance and complete various difficult operations at high speeds.

Keep in mind that in 1967, the Lightcycle Power Run 1000 was already traveling at 100 miles per hour.

In the 1990s, fire bolts used ash wood broom handles and could reach speeds of up to 150 miles per hour.

The ball that chases the athlete is even faster, not slower.

With such terrifying kinetic energy colliding with each other, the most serious accident at Hogwarts was that only one or two people had their jaws broken, and that was it.

Wizards are practically superhuman.

“Okay.” Justin then looked at Hermione with concern, praying that she wouldn’t fly away.

Meanwhile, he also managed to find time to give Sheen two chocolate chip cookies.

Although flying is a human dream, after experiencing this,
Sheen reassessed the flying class and suddenly realized that it was no less dangerous than the potions class.
It's hard to imagine that after only hearing a general explanation from Madam Hodge, the wizards would actually try flying themselves.

There wasn't even a demonstration or test flight.

What's the difference between this and just watching a few driving tips and then hitting the road?
Wizards really are tough as nails...

But not Sheehan; what if he fell from a height?

Then it might not just be bruises everywhere, but patches here and there.

……

The flight lesson ended quickly, after carefully observing Mrs. Hotchki's flying skills.

Sheehan and Justin successfully reunited with the still-shaken Hermione.

"Are you feeling alright, Hermione?"

Justin handed him a cup of honey lemon tea, still steaming hot.

Sheen glanced at him with slight surprise.
Where did he get it from?

"Not very good..."

Hermione took a sip of her lemon tea, relaxing slightly.
“I have to say, if you’re riding a broomstick tomorrow, the most important thing is not to fall off. As for flying… do you see Neville?”

"you're right."

Justin nodded in agreement.

As they entered the castle, Sheehan was still pondering Lady Hodge's flying skills.
Learning to ride a broom is equally important, especially after Sheen unlocks the Potions title.

He has now collected all five scholarship fragments, with only Herbalism and Defense Against the Dark Arts remaining.

Herbalism lessons aren't difficult; just follow the steps.

That leaves only the Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

If Professor Quirrell isn't reliable, then there will always be a reliable professor, right?

Sheen thought,
Hogwarts has more than one professor who is skilled in dark magic and its counter-curses.

Upon arriving at the auditorium,

Hermione and Justin were discussing the thrilling flight they had just experienced.
Sheen, on the other hand, heard some unusual sounds.

"Are you having your last meal, Potter? When are you taking the train back to the Muggles?"

This statement caused Justin and Hermione to frown almost simultaneously, both looking towards the Gryffindor table.

"Now that you're back on the ground, and with your little friends by your side, you're much braver."

They heard Harry say coldly.

"I'm always ready to challenge you to a one-on-one duel."

Malfoy said,

"If you have no objections, tonight, the duel between wizards will be fought using only wands—no physical contact is allowed."

What's wrong? I bet you haven't heard of wizard duels before, have you?

"Of course he's heard of it."

Ron, who was standing to the side, suddenly turned around.

"I'm his assistant. Who is your assistant?"

"Oh no—"

Hermione quickly puffed out her cheeks and said irritably,
"How many points do they actually want to deduct from Gryffindor?"
