Chapter 107 The Returning Girl

Chapter 107 The Returning Girl

The girl with black hair lost; could that refer to Tia? In the end, Iona won?
The idea arose in Viscount Xue Feng's mind, and he felt it was within expectations.

After all, she is the daughter of Viscount Karen and has studied at the Royal Academy in White Cliff City. No matter how you look at it, she is not comparable to any other academy.

On the other side, Maester Hyde remained silent for a moment after hearing the news. In fact, he still hoped that Sylvia would win, since he preferred the personality of this black-haired girl, and Iona was not close to him either.

Waiting can be a bit boring, but when the last few trainees appeared, the people in the camp were still quite excited.

The students who returned from the previous assessment did not leave. After sleeping through the night, everyone is waiting for the results today.

"Who is the one?"

"It should be Miss Iona, her strength is almost unmatched." Some people guessed.

“However, even for Miss Iona, achieving the third goal will be extremely difficult,” someone thought.

“If Miss Iona does not achieve the third goal, we will have to choose from among the people who have achieved the second goal.”

"It seems that Thorin, Mick, and Baron all still have a good chance."

"Don't even think about Sorin. He came back yesterday. The reason you didn't know is because he was severely poisoned and was sent back to Jiaoshi City to recuperate."

"Ah, Thorin has been defeated just like that?" Some people felt quite regretful, after all, Thorin had a good reputation among the commoner students.

"Where are the others? Have Mick and Barron returned?"

"Barron just got back last night, he's probably still sleeping in his tent right now." Someone shook their head.

"Judging from his dejected look, he probably didn't achieve his second goal."

"So, it all depends on whether Mick or Miss Iona gets chosen."

"That should be the case, but Viscount Schefeng will definitely recommend Miss Iona, who is his niece."

"Mick will be fine with some compensation or reward."

The crowd was buzzing with discussion until someone suddenly shouted, at which point they stopped.

"They're back!" The trainees greeted Mick, Komia, and the others with a gesture of welcome.

So, the group carrying their spoils quickened their pace and headed towards the camp.

Soon after, Mick and Ray opened the bloodstained package on the ground in the camp. Inside were the heads of two ogres.

“This is the result of my and Ray’s battle,” Mick explained loudly.

"Understood." The instructor nodded in satisfaction, came over and patted the two on the shoulder, asking if they were injured.

“We are in very good shape right now,” Mick replied proudly.

On the other side, Komia and Tia were also surrounded by some students.

"Did you two go on a picnic? You look so relaxed."

"By the way, have you seen Miss Iona?" They didn't care about the two of them at all; they only wanted to know when Iona, the champion of this assessment, would return.

"I didn't see it." Komia waved her hand, indicating that she knew nothing, then pulled Tia away and ran to Scholar Hyde.

"Teacher, we're back." Komia skipped lightly to Maester Hyde.

"Good, it's good that you're back safe and sound." Maester Hyde looked at Tia with concern, and seeing that she was unharmed, the weight of his worries was lifted.

It seemed Iona had held back and hadn't hurt Sylvia. "The result isn't important; participating in this is a trial in itself," he began to reassure the two.

"You can also go to other organizations, look for opportunities, join the periphery first, and then gradually get closer and obtain the inheritance."

"I didn't know it could be done like that! Thank you, Professor Hyde!" Komia jumped up happily.

"So, does that mean I can be a witch too?" She wanted to hurry home and discuss it with her parents, but as she turned around, she was startled to see a mysterious woman in a long black dress standing in front of Tia.

The mysterious black witch had ribbons wrapped around her wrists that looked like they belonged to a living creature. Her skin was pale, and just being near her brought a sense of dizziness and fear, making Komia tremble and unable to utter a word.

On the other hand, Hilti was much calmer, or rather, she wasn't too shocked, but she sensed a strong "nightmare" aura emanating from the other party.

This is probably the real mastermind, or examiner, behind this assessment.

“You are very good. I can smell the fragrance of flowers on you.” Melinda gently waved her black fan.

“If I’m not mistaken, this should be the aura of some peripheral organization of the ‘Four Seasons Alliance’. It seems you also have some connection to it.”

“Here, this is your badge as the winner.” She flipped open her fingers and handed a specially made silver badge to Hilti.

The design on this badge features twisted, growing trees surrounding a crescent moon in the center. It is quite exquisite and has a unique aura, with a strange coolness to the touch.

[Woodland Badge] (Tier 2 - Radiant Moon): A badge awarded only to exceptionally gifted students. It aids in meditation, enhancing mental stability. (Mental Stability +0.1)

"Take good care of it, and it's best to wear it on your body. Don't take it off," Melinda instructed.

"Yes." Hiltiya accepted it and temporarily pinned it to her collar.

“Not bad…” The black witch looked at Silti’s appearance, temperament, and figure, and nodded slightly.

“You are indeed a very good witch prospect. If you are interested in the witch profession, you can come to my organization, the ‘Night Dream Tea Party’. I can act as your recommender and guarantor, exempting you from obligations in the organization for the first three years. This is a pretty good benefit and will save you a lot of time.”

"Thank you." Hiltiya politely lifted her skirt in return, a few strands of silver hair falling down.

"I wonder if you could tell me more about the 'Night Dream Tea Party'?"

“That’s easy.” The witch turned around and walked toward the black carriage.

"Come with me."

Hiltiya gradually caught up, and only then did the other trainees realize that something was wrong.

"Is that Tia? Why has her hair turned silver?"

"Also, is that a witch? This is the first time I've ever seen a profession like that."

"Ah, Tia got into the carriage with the witch. Could it be that she has been chosen?"

"Where is Miss Iona? Isn't it Miss Iona?"

Not only were the students surprised and puzzled, but even Viscount Scheffer and Maester Hyde were full of doubts. However, they dared not disturb the witch at the moment and could only have someone guard a short distance from the carriage to report to the two of them if anything happened.

Thinking of some possibilities, Maester Hyde summoned Komia and the others for questioning.

"What specific challenges did you encounter during the assessment, and what is Tiya's situation?"

"Well..."

Mick glanced at the people around him and began to explain to the teacher, and in this way, some of the truths gradually came to everyone's attention.
