Chapter 53: Giving Gifts!
Chapter 53: Giving a Gift! (Bonus chapter for readers who love reading and keep reading!)
Not long after the Wangjiazhuang team arrived, Qi Yun also headed towards the overseer's shed.
I want to ask to go down the mountain!
Just as he stepped into the shed.
"kill!"
Suddenly, a sharp shout rang out.
immediately.
"They've rebelled! That country bumpkin has rebelled! Stop him!!"
"Help! The Hall of Righteousness is on fire!!"
A piercing scream and the deafening explosion of weapons clashing violently erupted like thunder from a clear sky, suddenly emanating from the center of the stronghold, towards the Hall of Righteous Gathering!
It instantly shattered the gloom of the twilight valley!
Qi Yun suddenly turned his head!
Thick smoke was rising from the location of the Hall of Gathering Righteousness, and orange flames were greedily licking at the wooden doors, windows and pillars, crackling loudly!
The flickering flames cast distorted shadows of people fleeing and fighting on the walls and ground, like a chaotic dance of demons!
The flashing of blades, the splattering of blood, the roars, the screams, and the muffled thuds of weapons piercing flesh all blended together!
The entire village erupted into chaos, like an anthill thrown into boiling water!
"what happened?!"
"Damn! Someone actually dares to mess with us?!"
"Grab your weapons! Quickly! To the Hall of Righteousness!"
The henchmen on the construction site, the guards by the stockade wall, the bandits emerging from the wooden huts and thatched huts...
After a brief moment of shock, like bees whose hornets had been stirred up, they drew their weapons, their eyes red, and howled as they surged toward the burning Hall of Righteousness! The scene was completely out of control!
Qi Yun's heart sank to the bottom!
Finished!
Regardless of the outcome, these "outsiders" who witnessed the chaos in the village will never be let go easily!
These ruthless bandits, in order to cover up the news and to vent their anger, will surely slaughter all the witnesses afterward!
"Damn it!" The henchman in charge of guarding them had obviously thought of this as well. His expression changed drastically, and he suddenly drew the long knife from his waist.
The blade was pointed at Qi Yun and the others who were instinctively gathering around. He roared fiercely, his voice distorted with fear: "Don't move! Put your hands on your heads and squat down!"
"If he dares to move an inch, I'll chop him up right now!"
His eyes were fierce as he stared intently at the crowd, but his hand gripping the hilt of his knife trembled slightly, and his gaze involuntarily kept glancing at the chaotic and noisy firelight in the distance.
The men of Songjiazhuang were already terrified, their legs trembling like leaves, and they instinctively wanted to collapse to the ground.
Qi Yun also crouched down with his head in his hands, but at this moment, a sharp glint suddenly flashed in his eyes!
Zhao Yue's deep voice echoed in his mind.
"First courage, second strength, third martial arts! Either don't move, or move and you'll die!"
"Be ruthless! Be cruel!"
Just as the henchman was distracted and looked at the firelight!
Qi Yun has made a move!
Without any warning, it pounced on its prey like a cheetah that had been lying in wait for a long time!
The blood and qi surging within his body from the hard labor, and the Crimson Hunting Fire deep within his heart that was stirred by the chaotic killing intent, were suddenly ignited!
A tremendous force erupted from the ground beneath his feet, twisted through his waist and hips, and forcefully poured into his right arm!
Xingyi - Bengquan!
The punch was thrown with the force of a crossbow bolt!
Short! Fast! Fierce! Ruthless!
No fancy tricks, just killing!
The henchman caught a glimpse of a dark figure leaping up out of the corner of his eye. Terrified, he tried to twist and block, but it was too late.
boom! !
A guttural, dull thud, like the sound of leather being struck!
Qi Yun's fist, imbued with all his strength, struck the henchman's unsuspecting Adam's apple solidly, like a red-hot iron pestle!
Click!
The sharp, chilling sound of bones cracking stood out starkly and eerily in a corner of the mountain stronghold, shrouded in twilight and filled with the deafening sounds of battle!
The henchman's shouts abruptly stopped, his eyes bulging out of their sockets, filled with disbelief, horror, and a sudden, deathly palpation!
The knife in his hand clattered to the ground, and he slumped backward like a sack with its bones removed.
His neck was twisted to one side at an eerie angle, his Adam's apple was deeply sunken, and blood mixed with broken soft tissue gushed from his wide-open mouth.
He fell heavily onto the cold, muddy ground, his body convulsing unconsciously, his bulging eyes staring blankly at the darkening sky, reflecting the leaping, ever-growing flames in the distance.
After the leader led the Taoist priest into the Hall of Righteousness, he immediately withdrew. The hall door slammed shut, the dull echo reverberating against the stone wall.
Several sticky, fierce gazes coiled around the Taoist priest like venomous snakes.
During the banquet, the leaders released the women from their arms, and the atmosphere of drinking and eating cooled down, leaving only naked scrutiny, like a dull knife scraping the bone.
A clumsy attempt to intimidate someone.
The Taoist priest didn't even bother to lift his eyelids, inwardly sneering.
"Taoist priest!" Hunshanhu's voice boomed, making the candlelight flicker. He sat imposingly, his copper bell eyes glaring down at the people below.
"Do you know you've ruined my mood!" His rough fingers traced the cool shoulders and neck of the dancer in his arms. "Your damn treasure had better truly deserve the title of 'treasure,' otherwise..."
A cruel yet mocking smile spread across his face, as if he could already smell the sweet, metallic scent of blood.
"I'll cut off your 'treasure,' stew it into a pot of mushy soup, and give the brothers a good laugh!"
"Hahaha!" A burst of boisterous laughter erupted from the hall, shaking dust from the beams.
The women trembled and buried their faces even lower.
The Taoist priest seemed to stand on a cloud, his wild laughter like a wild wind brushing past his ear.
A barely perceptible hint of mockery played at the corners of his lips as he simply stretched out his hand, which was tucked into his sleeve, flatly.
The laughter abruptly stopped, as if an invisible claw had simultaneously gripped their throats!
The hall fell into a sudden, deathly silence; even breathing seemed to freeze.
All eyes—greedy, ferocious, astonished—were instantly nailed to the Taoist's outstretched palm.
A sliver of warm, clear light pierced through the grime and grease of the hall.
A jade ruyi!
It lay quietly in the palm of my hand, flawless and radiant, as if it had captured a piece of solidified moonlight.
The soft light reflected off the surrounding coarse meat and wine, the greasy tables and desks, and even the hideous faces, making them appear somewhat wretched and desolate.
Time seemed to be frozen by the jade light, with only its own halo pulsating silently.
The deathly silence continued until the Taoist priest made a gesture as if to close his hands again.
"Wait!" Hunshanhu jumped up from the tiger-skin chair as if his backside had been branded with a hot iron, his voice cracking, "Quick! Get it to me right now!"
The leader who was closest to him seemed to wake up from a dream. He darted forward and snatched the jade ruyi from the Taoist's palm with both hands, then turned around and respectfully presented it to Hunshanhu.
In a flash, the leaders at the table could no longer contain themselves and rushed forward, surrounding Hunshanhu in the center.
Several pairs of eyes were fixed on the jade, emitting heavy gasps.
"Good! Good baby!"
Hunshanhu's rough fingers caressed the cold jade body almost devoutly. His eyes were red, his Adam's apple bobbed, and he said "good" three times in a row, his voice rising higher and higher, with a greedy flame leaping wildly in his eyes.
At the height of this greedy and clamorous climax, the Taoist's clear, cold voice rang out, like an icicle piercing boiling oil.
"I have something else to give to you all."
"There's more treasure?!"
Hunshanhu suddenly looked up, his gaze no longer filled with greed, but with an almost manic, burning intensity!
The first item was already a rare treasure, the second item...
His mind was buzzing, his mouth was dry, and his heart was pounding like a drum.
"I see you all off." The Taoist priest paused, his voice carrying a strange rhythm.
He raised his hand and untied the inconspicuous gray cloth bag at his waist.
The bag drooped down, revealing a section of the ancient sword hilt, neither gold nor iron, with a dark color, as if it had been soaked in the dust of time.
The Taoist priest's gaze swept over the pack of wolves, their eyes blinded by greed, and a carefree yet chilling smile suddenly appeared on his lips:
"May you all be reborn in the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss!"
