Chapter 47 The Strong Men
Chapter 47 The Strong Men (Part 3)
Just then, there was a knock on the door of the officers' salon, and a man in a suit and a faded tie walked in.
A kind smile appeared on his slightly tired face. "Hehe, have I disturbed you all?"
"Your Excellency the President."
The officers in the room immediately stopped their discussion and saluted the man.
"Your Excellency President Ferdinand, may I shake your hand?"
Lu Lin noticed that Captain Joseph beside him was extremely excited, much like a fan meeting their idol.
"Of course, young soldiers."
Joseph got his wish and shook hands with the man, his eyes filled with undisguised admiration, and he lingered on the hand for a long time.
The room was filled with generals from different countries, but when this man appeared, Lu Lin felt as if a force had come together to bind everyone together.
"Jamael Abdul Nasser?"
Lu Lin quickly identified the man as the person in question.
This is a real big shot.
Some have called Ferdinand the most important president in Egyptian history, as well as the first president of the United Arab Republic.
His idea of "unification" briefly united Masr, Rahuaa, and Lirvia into an alliance, forming a three-sided encirclement of Zion. He even orchestrated the formation of the entire Arab League.
If this war is won, Pan-Arabism will reach an unprecedented peak, and its status in the Middle East may be no less than that of Qin Shi Huang.
Ferdinand greeted each general warmly, remembering their names regardless of their country, and the generals all wore expressions of pride.
When it was finally Lu Lin's turn, the two shook hands, and the president shook him vigorously a few times: "Well done, Rafik, you've given us some justice!"
Rafiq means "comrade-in-arms" in Arabic, somewhat like the Russian "comrade-in-arms".
“We all learn from our failures. The failures we face now lay the foundation for future success,” Lu Lin said.
President Ferdinand smiled and said, "Yes, you're right. We need to learn from our failures and cut off the sores so that new growth can grow. The Zionites are powerful, but we have been awakened by their defeat. We will do better next time."
After meeting with a group of generals from various countries, President Ferdinand looked even more exhausted. Seeing this, the people behind him helped him up by the arm, preparing to leave first.
The officers rose to their feet to bid farewell to the Arab nationalist leader.
“You seem to admire President Ferdinand quite a bit,” Lu Lin said to Captain Joseph.
Joseph: "His Excellency the President is a great man, and his ideas can guide us in the right direction."
He showed us a path: our nation possesses immense energy, stemming from our faith and our bloodline. If we can unite all Arab countries, we can become a force that will astound the world!
"At that time, let alone Zion, who, even Ant or the United States, will dare to underestimate us?"
President Ferdinand's ideas had a wide-ranging influence in the Middle East in the 20th century, even extending beyond Masr's borders. Essentially, they represented a triple fusion of Arab nationalism, anti-colonial struggle, and social revolution, and were regarded as a spiritual totem of Middle Eastern politics.
Many future dictators in the Middle East regard him as a spiritual idol.
However, the president now appears to be in poor health. The defeat in the war has undoubtedly been a major blow to the old man, both physically and mentally.
"The Chieftain tanks of Zion have caused us a lot of trouble. His Excellency the President has been in talks with Ant these past few days to see if they can acquire some tanks of similar quality. Otherwise, we'll probably be suppressed in future battles," Colonel Jobach whispered. Lu Lin had a sudden inspiration: "Why don't we try to develop our own weapons and equipment? Even just training some personnel would be helpful."
Colonel Jobich shrugged: "War always comes quickly; by the time we've built our weapons, the war is already over."
Besides, the advanced equipment provided by the Slavs is indeed very useful, except in this case.
I recall how my motherland, after experiencing nuclear blackmail and contempt from major powers, quickly launched independent research and development of military industry, completed the "Two Bombs, One Satellite" project, and rose to become a major military power in just a few decades, even starting to export missiles in reverse.
Lu Lin scratched his head. Oh well, he wasn't capable of getting Shuangzhi to do weapons development right now.
As evening approached, a royal valet gently knocked on the door, walked to Lu Lin's side, and whispered, "Major General, the meeting has ended, and His Highness the Prince is waiting for you."
"Understood." Lu Lin nodded and gestured to the officers around him. "See you later, Rafiks!"
"See you later, Major General."
See you in New York!
As Lu Lin walked out, he saw Prince Muhammad chatting with an officer dressed in green camouflage and wearing a red beret. The officer said, "The people of Arafat thank you for your assistance, Your Highness. We will not abandon the homeland that God has given us, and we will gather all our strength to fight Zion to the end."
Seeing Lu Lin approach, the officer wearing a red beret nodded to him and stepped aside.
"Let's go."
Prince Muhammad didn't say anything to him. The group went straight onto the plane and back to the cabin. Lu Lin asked, "Are we preparing to take action against Zion?"
“Not so fast,” Prince Muhammad said. “If we want to target Zion, we must first make the United Kingdom and France back down.”
However, to achieve this, international pressure alone is not enough. The old colonial empires are like hyenas with a piece of meat in their mouths. Unless you can cut a piece of meat off them, these guys will not let go.
The United Kingdom, in particular, is a notorious troublemaker. To be honest, the mess left in the Middle East is mostly its fault.
Years of internal and external interventions, including the Sykes-Picot Agreement and the Balfour Declaration, have directly and indirectly dragged the entire Middle East into the abyss of war.
So what's your decision?
Lu Lin ordered an iced cola. The combination of the air conditioning and the cold drink finally counteracted the intense heat.
Prince Muhammad glanced at him: "If you could use honorifics when you address me in the future, I would be more willing to answer your questions."
Lu Lin turned his head away. The Seres people do have this kind of mentality. He couldn't bring himself to call a strange man "father" after transmigrating.
But if they give me money and equipment when I need it most, it's not unreasonable for me to call them godfather.
"If you were in my position, how would you choose to punish the instigators of this war?"
Lu Lin: "Oil embargo."
This answer isn't that hard to guess; in fact, it could be said to be the only answer Shuangzhi could give.
Since it's a sanction, you have to offer something that the other side will fear or even be afraid of, and the only thing Shuangzhi has is oil.
