Chapter 88: Death before departure

The star-like nodes of the bone mark were lit up, and a large number of magic circuits on the white triangle were activated, wrapped in a dark halo, but these dark lights were not conspicuous in the sunlight.

Su Ming completed the synchronization, stabilizing the ship's shields in stress mode.

The White Triangle quickly left the shallow waters of Qingquan Reef, and the seabed began to deepen. Su Ming ordered the White Skull to put the sonar back into the water and accelerate outwards.

"There's something underwater!" Siwo suddenly warned. "I heard a sound—a whale?"

In an instant, Su Ming's head slammed into the sonar screen, and his chest was sent flying by the control panel. Then, he seemed to be enveloped by something soft, and after several impacts and rolls, he landed back on the floor.

The stern of the White Triangle rose high, its bent and deformed propeller exposed to the air. In the center of the splashing waves, half of a huge whale's body emerged from the water, its surface marked with shocking metallic scratches and deep grooves, dark blood splattering everywhere.

Boom! Thud! The stern of the White Triangle crashed back into the sea, creating a white crater in the blue water. A pair of hands gently pressed him down on the cockpit floor, and Su Ming was no longer injured. He quickly turned around and saw that it was Zi Jin who had been holding him.

The girl's hair was disheveled, and her clothes were in disarray. Although a blue water-based shield surrounded both her and Su Ming, her mouth was full of bright red blood. Su Ming quickly pressed Zi Jin to the floor and reached out to check her abdomen. He had just lifted his shirt halfway up, revealing the girl's snow-white belly, when Zi Jin grabbed his hand.

"What are you doing!" the girl spat out the tomato in her mouth and glared at him.

Siwo released the force field, fell back to the floor from mid-air, and looked at him with the same frosty expression.

Zijin pulled Su Ming's hand and stood up from the ground. She glared at him and wiped the tomato crumbs off the corner of her mouth.

"Grandpa Siwo, let's go deal with the sea monster." She waved her hand, conjured the Divine Blessing Scepter, sat on it sideways to act as a flying broom, and then pulled the End Bone Staff from her head, unsealing it and restoring it to its normal size.

“Alright, I’ll deal with the whale, you take care of the giant octopus,” Siwo replied. The whale had already retreated back into the sea; his auditory abilities allowed him to pinpoint its location.

"I'll repair the White Triangle," Su Ming said readily.

Violet flew out of the cabin to meet the giant octopus. Siwo, on the other hand, floated above the deck, listening to the sounds of the sea all around.

Despite the sudden impact, the Netherworld Shield was activated in time, and the White Triangle's hull remained undamaged. However, the propellers were severely deformed, the engine room shut down completely, and various warning lights flashed throughout the bridge.

Su Ming first stopped the equipment, then checked the problems one by one. The sonar was also damaged in the collision, so he told the skeleton to quickly retrieve it.

After observing the enemy ships' movements, the four raiding ships that had entered the bay area began to turn back. Unlike the White Triangle, they could not cross the shoals, so they had to go out first and then circle around from outside Qingquan Reef.

Two Wasp-class gunboats also chose to circle around from the outside, but two others accelerated and rushed into the waterway of the reef area, heading straight for this side.

Su Ming quickly understood the other side's intentions. The Hornet's cannons were long enough to attack the White Triangle from inside the bay, across the shallows, and they wanted to save time to join the battle as soon as possible.

After its initial impact, the zombie whale quickly submerged and remained lingering at depths of several hundred meters. Siwo was unsure how to force it to the surface. However, he couldn't ignore it; the whale was swimming at speeds exceeding 35 knots, and another impact on the White Triangle would cause even more severe damage to the equipment.

Violet suddenly accelerated through the air, charging towards one of the octopuses. She deftly changed direction, dodging the massive tentacles that lashed out at her. As she drew close enough, a series of runes appeared around her. With a flick of her staff, a vast, eerie light swiftly enveloped the giant octopus.

Reverse Zombification!

Large plumes of black smoke billowed from the octopus and spread in all directions. However, the actual damage caused was not significant; all of the giant octopus's tentacles shot out of the water, and it went berserk for a moment.

Tentacles thrashed wildly through billowing black smoke. Violet barely managed to dodge, struggling to squeeze through the gaps between the giant octopus's tentacles, only to find herself trapped between another giant octopus that had circled her from behind!

Upon seeing this, Siwo immediately rushed over to provide support. He flew a distance, froze a patch of seawater in mid-air, and then landed on the ice floes, concentrating to unleash a wide-range water-based spell.
