Chapter 60 Mechanical Girl Beanie
Chapter 60 Mechanical Girl Beanie
Zijin had just used a force field. She had no problem casting spells, but Su Ming always managed to find openings and even use her force against her.
Scholars believe Su Ming has an innate intuition for torque. But in reality, it's just a conditioned reflex developed from being bombarded with countless mechanics problems.
“I’ve never had a good understanding of force fields. When facing melee enemies whose defenses can’t be broken by instant spells, my methods are very limited.” Violet stood up. “So that day when I fought Iser at sea, I had to take an unconventional approach and show no mercy.”
“Hmm, you need to brush up on this.” Su Ming got up. “Forces are mutual, and you need to practice calculating the resultant force and momentum at different angles.”
Zijin looked at Su Ming with a question mark on her forehead.
"I'll get you some textbooks, let's start with the problems on Newton's laws."
This world certainly has kinematics, and at a high level, but its applied algorithms focus on elemental magic.
As an anomaly in magic, the force field series is perfectly suited to Earth's mechanics. If the tried-and-true method of endless practice problems were employed, even the academically gifted but severely unbalanced Su Ming would be tempted.
"Newton, the title scholar of your world?" Violet asked with some curiosity, completely unaware of what she was about to encounter.
"A titled scholar, is that the most outstanding in your world?" Su Ming asked.
"Yes, I am the only one still alive."
Su Ming couldn't help but take another look at Zi Jin, realizing that he had seriously misjudged the status of the big shot next to him.
Ultimately, it's impossible for an ordinary person to be wanted and hunted across the entire continent and still be alive and kicking, right?
"Good day! Owl Scholar, Your Excellency Bone King!" a clear voice rang out. "I am Beanie, the naval officer of the Beer."
Su Ming looked up and saw a girl riding a broomstick approaching the Zhiyuan. She was young, with a face like that of someone from the Western Continent, a neat bob haircut, and wearing a gray work dress. Her sleeves were tied with belts, and she carried a shoulder bag.
With her psychic vision, it was clear that the girl wasn't very strong, which was why Violet felt comfortable letting her get close.
Su Ming nodded. "Hello! Su Ming."
Beianqi maneuvered the broom and landed on the flight deck. Upon landing, she glanced around and then bowed to Su Ming and Zi Jin.
The girl was indeed very beautiful, with delicate features. Her hair was a little messy from the sea breeze, but it couldn't hide her pretty charm.
Su Ming noticed that Bei Anqi's hands were very clean, and the girl had a light lilac scent, but there was a faint familiar smell in them.
“The Double-Headed Axe frigate has retreated to a distance of 10 kilometers. Can I start organizing the transfer of supplies?” Beanie asked.
Just as Zijin was about to nod, Su Ming stopped her, saying, "No, let your captain or first mate come."
“But Your Excellency, I have always been in charge of the ship’s external affairs—” Beanie explained, bowing her head.
“You’re not a naval officer,” Su Ming replied directly. “We’re the same kind of people; I knew that the moment I saw you.”
Beanie bit her lip, offering no further argument. She pulled a whistle from her purse and blew it a few times. The Ale began to slowly approach; it was clear that there were many dwarf sailors on board, as well as quite a few humans. Soon, a dwarf jumped aboard, bowing nervously to the two of them, "Greetings, sirs!"
Zijin glanced at Su Ming, who nodded. The dwarf then instructed the sailors to throw ropes to secure the two ships and establish a transfer channel.
“I’m sorry, Miss Beian,” Su Ming turned to the girl, “this ship has too many secrets, so I can’t let someone who is obviously a mechanic get in touch with it.”
"I even dressed up carefully, but I didn't expect you to see through me at a glance." Bei Anqi simply stopped pretending and straightened up to look at Su Ming.
“Miss Beianqi, next time you can have someone else help you clean up. Mechanics have too many little habits that can’t be hidden,” Su Ming said.
Bea Angie reached out and smelled her arm. "Is it the smell of engine oil? I specifically wore perfume!"
"For people who are in frequent contact with you, it's useless to sprinkle anything," Su Ming explained.
After observing Su Ming for a while, Bei Anqi asked, "Lord Su Ming, I've never seen anyone with your appearance before. May I ask where you're from?"
“An Easterner, but not from the East of this world,” Su Ming replied. “You’re from the Western Continent, aren’t you? Why are you on the dwarves’ ship?”
“My father came to the Dwarf Continent decades ago to learn the alchemy techniques of the dwarves, and he became so fascinated that he decided to settle down there,” Beanie replied. “I was born on the Dwarf Continent.” She pointed to the Ale, “There are actually many humans on the Dwarf Continent. Look at this ship, one-seventh of the crew are human.”
The sailors of the Ale were visibly agitated when they saw the zombies working on the Zhiyuan, but the captain quickly calmed them down. Beanie also went over to help soothe them, and the sailors finally resumed their work, their faces still showing fear.
Violet extended her senses, remaining unmoved and on guard. She stood on the deck of the ship's superstructure, observing the Twin-Headed Axe in the distance through binoculars, her cloak fluttering in the sea breeze.
Bea walked to the stern, leaned over the railing, and looked down. The propeller was at the bottom of the boat; she couldn't see anything.
“So it really is mechanical?” Beanie’s voice was full of envy. “The fastest ship in the world.” She reached out and stroked the bone railing. “Everyone says it’s magic, that it’s undead—but I know it must be mechanical! Its wake is so even, so beautiful!”
Zi Jin suddenly sent a message: "Su Ming, I've checked carefully. The Double-Headed Axe warship doesn't have alchemy equipment!"
Su Ming glanced at Bei Anqi. Ships without alchemy equipment didn't need mechanics. He immediately became alert. [So there's another ship nearby?]
Beianqi glanced back at the two men's unfriendly expressions and suddenly realized, "I'm the mechanic of the Five Teeth! The Five Teeth is eighty kilometers away, and we didn't approach for fear of causing a misunderstanding!"
Su Ming glanced at the radar and confirmed again that it was not there.
"Good, another stealth warship." Su Ming complained. "The long-wave radar issue needs to be addressed."
[That's how it is in high-level games.] Violet also felt somewhat helpless.
Sea transport is inefficient, especially since most of the cargo is heavy metal. Su Ming lowered the side of the flight deck and converted it into a loading and unloading platform. Zi Jin also used her levitation technique, and after about four hours, the transport was finally completed.
Thank you all for your hard work, goodbye!
Su Ming gave the order to leave, but Bei Anqi was reluctant. "Excuse me, is the propulsion technology of this ship transferable?" she asked Su Ming. "Our chamber of commerce is willing to pay, a lot of money!"
