Chapter 5 A Tribute to the Wise
Chapter 5 A Tribute to the Wise
Hey guys, I'm a complete newbie in the history book category, and this is my first time writing a book. I'm feeling pretty apprehensive.
Forget it, I can't even keep up this excuse anymore. I admit it, I'm a complete failure. This is my seventh book on Qidian. I've written from the pre-Qin period all the way to the Sui and Tang dynasties. I don't know if I'll be able to write about all the dynasties in my country in the future.
I've been wanting to share some thoughts with everyone these past few days, but I haven't dared to. Logically speaking, as a seasoned writer, I shouldn't be so afraid to start a book. But I don't know if it's because so many of my friends have had their books fail one after another, or because this is the first time I've taken a break for several months before starting a book again, but this time I'm really panicking.
For a month before the book was published, I was conflicted every day. Before 18 p.m., I felt that my new book was invincible, but after 18 p.m., I felt that it was bound to flop. Every night, I would overturn what I had written during the day. Until the day before yesterday, I even thought about whether to postpone it for another month. I was suffering from insomnia and anxiety every night.
But in the end, I gritted my teeth and decided to go ahead with it. A real man shouldn't back down.
I've wanted to write about the Tang Dynasty for a long time. At first, I thought Li Jiancheng would be the protagonist, but then I felt that wasn't right, so I changed it to Li Xuanba. There are many plots I want to write, but they haven't been fully developed yet. The previous book was about a dark era, so the style had to be serious. This book is just right to be more lighthearted and humorous. If the next book is about the late Tang and Five Dynasties period, then I can switch to a more serious style again.
I've been reading everyone's book reviews these past few days. Some people found it quite interesting, while others felt that Old Wolf had sold his account and that the style was a bit strange. This strangeness is probably because I'm trying to blend the styles of my previous books together.
Another issue that everyone is discussing is Li Jiancheng. The Li Jiancheng in this book is not a direct time traveler. He is the kind of person who recovers lost memories. And the current Li Jiancheng is relatively young and his memories are confused, so he appears naive and absurd.
I will humbly accept everyone's suggestions. Therefore, I also hope that everyone can offer more suggestions and express their thoughts. We can speak freely, as long as it is not a personal attack.
Because the new book still has a long recommendation period, I can't update too often. I think updating two chapters at 10 am every day is more reliable. Everyone said that updating at 6 am for the previous book was too exhausting, so I postponed it a bit this time. After it's released, I'll be more diligent and try to update 10,000 words a day!
In addition, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Yu Yan, Sheng Xian Qi Tian, and kaluote no1 for being the patrons, and also to the other readers who support Lao Lang's books.
Old Wolf is extremely grateful.
Thank you!!!
