Hogwarts: I am Snape
Chapter 30 Action
Chapter 30 Action
"Are you ready?" Pandora couldn't help but ask as she saw Snape pull out a piece of parchment and stare at it for a long time.
“I’m ready,” she said, patting the small bag on the table. “Everything’s in there.”
“Wait a minute,” Snape said without looking up, his eyes still glued to the Marauder’s Map. “Let me take another look.”
He had been tracking the movement of the small black dot representing Mullsab, preparing to take action once it disappeared from the map.
At this moment, the setting sun slanted into the room through the tall windows of the House of Requirement, and the light was already somewhat dim.
They had just eaten a few slices of bread here and weren't planning to go to the auditorium for dinner.
Time passed slowly, and Snape's eyes suddenly lit up: Mulce had finally slipped into the secret passage again, and the little black dot had disappeared from the map.
“Come here, I’ll cast a Disillusionment Spell on you.” He quickly beckoned to Pandora.
With that, Snape raised his wand and tapped her head gently and skillfully: "All done."
“Well done, Severus.” Pandora looked down at her body and said admiringly before blending into the background.
At this moment, her body seemed to no longer belong to her.
It's not that it's completely invisible, but its color and texture become exactly the same as the walls and instruments around it, just like a human chameleon, cleverly hiding in its surroundings.
"Let's go." Snape was about to tap himself with his wand when he suddenly saw a translucent wand floating in the air land on his head.
A cold, icy sensation flowed into his body from the spot where he had been struck.
“Thank you, Pandora.” Snape picked up the small bag and said, “This bag is rather heavy, I’ll take it.”
The door to the room opened silently, then closed quietly again, disappearing perfectly into the stone wall.
They carefully descended the stairs to the fifth floor.
When no one was around, Snape opened the mirror leading to the secret passage.
"Come on, let's go inside quickly." He whispered to the air around him, as if afraid of being overheard.
Unsure if his companion had already gone inside, he waited a few more seconds before retracting his foot, which was blocking the entrance.
A faint light appeared in the air, like a firefly twinkling in the night sky, drifting around and illuminating the uneven stone wall.
“This place is nice,” Pandora’s voice echoed in the secret passage. “It would be perfect for experiments. Why did you destroy it?”
“Uh…” Snape didn’t know how to answer for a moment. “Well, this place could be used by bad guys. Don’t you already have a laboratory? This place isn’t important anymore?”
“That makes sense. Okay, I’ll get started then.” Pandora didn’t hesitate. “Put the bag on the ground, I can’t see it.”
"Okay, okay." Snape put the small bag on the ground. "Let's undo the Disillusionment Charm."
As the spell took effect, they reappeared.
After he appeared, he watched as Pandora took out some small jars from her bag, which contained various powders and liquids.
Amidst Pandora's chanting-like incantations, the magical materials rose into the air, slowly merging together and layering over the walls and stone steps of the secret passage.
As she chanted, glowing runes appeared on the wall, shimmering with a mysterious light as if they were about to leap off the wall.
After a while, they really did break free from the stone wall, flashing a faint light in mid-air before slowly disappearing without a trace.
“It’s ancient magic that’s so rare to see,” Pandora said, her voice filled with satisfaction. “I tried many different magic-reducing potions and spells to remove them.”
"They also gave me some new ideas. That runic symbol, I always thought it meant explosion, but I never imagined it was used as a protective charm." "What?"
"."
"Never mind," Snape said, even doubting the authenticity of his excellent ancient rune grades, after hearing Pandora's words. "What should we do next?"
“Let’s use the powerful blast (Bombarda Maxima),” Pandora suggested, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.
As she uttered the first syllable, Snape quickly called out to her, "Wait! Let me do it, you step aside."
He was a little worried; what if something happened to her? He didn't want any more accidents to happen to Pandora after he arrived.
Just then, Snape smelled a pungent, fishy odor wafting from the stairwell, and he suddenly felt a chill on his arm.
Before he could even react to what the smell was, a sticky, white hand had already grabbed the stone steps and climbed out.
He looked up and gasped: a large group of corpses were surging up from the ground.
Below, countless white heads and hands emerged from the darkness—men's, women's, children's—all with sunken, blind eyes, approaching them.
"The Infernal!" Snape shouted. "Powerful Explosion!"
A powerful surge of magic rushed toward the stone wall, creating several cracks, but that was far from enough.
They didn't have time to destroy the secret passage.
"All petrified!"
The first skeleton that appeared rolled down with a thud.
"Obstacles everywhere! Bind them quickly!"
Snape retreated while frantically waving his wand in the air, but more ini continued to climb up.
Their withered hands gripped the cold rocks, their hollow, misty eyes stared blankly at them, their faded, tattered clothes, stained with mold and mud, trailed behind them, and their sunken faces wore expressions of disdain.
"Pandora, run!" Snape pulled her to the entrance, his wand trembling as he drew a little owl: "Wings out!"
The undead continued to advance step by step, reaching out their withered hands.
He hoped the exit would open soon so he and Pandora could leave safely.
“Wait, Severus.” Pandora stumbled as he pulled her. “I have a plan.”
She tried hard to break free from Snape's grasp, but he held on tightly and refused to let go.
"Never mind all that, let's go find the professors!" Snape shouted anxiously, his voice trembling.
The entrance has finally opened.
Before Snape could grab Pando and rush out, a flash of light appeared, and he felt his ankle being grabbed, then he was lifted upside down into the air.
"Gotcha! You snotty-nosed brat, give me back my things!"
James's狰狞 face was upside down opposite Snape's, his eyes filled with anger and hatred.
