Chapter 87 The Greedy Elf

But now, it's too late to say anything.

Olivia can only atone to the living with the apologies and regrets of her compatriots.

Only in this way can we move forward.

In response to Olivia's sincere apology, Celie stood up abruptly and just gave her a complicated look.

"Even if you want to apologize, don't look for me. The one you wanted to kill the most was Lord, and it was Lord who defeated you. I'm just an innocent person who got caught up in this."

After saying this, Celie picked up the original text and turned to walk deeper into the forest.

Lord subconsciously wanted to catch up, but Olivia gently pulled his sleeve.

"Lord, I'm so sorry." Olivia said softly, "I can sense that Miss Celie is feeling very complicated right now. Could it be that my joining her has caused her to misunderstand something?"

Olivia keenly noticed that there was something wrong with Celie's mood at the moment.

Logically speaking, elves are not such emotional beings.

Even though they had been fighting each other to the death not long ago, now that she had learned the truth, the other party should welcome her to join the team and fight against the hypocritical gods together.

But Celia was very resistant.

This is not how elves should behave.

Lord frowned. "Honestly, I don't know why. I'll go and try to persuade her. I hope she doesn't run away or hide."

"Don't worry, you can use the connection between the original texts to sense Miss Celia's location."

Lord was stunned for a moment, then closed his eyes. Sure enough, he could clearly sense the direction of the original text, which was in the woods east of the village.

"I'll go find her."

In the woods, Celie leaned against a thick tree trunk, the original book in her hand tightly placed on her legs.

She didn't understand why she was so angry, this emotion came so suddenly and so strongly.

"The annoying Skywing people." She muttered to herself, but she didn't even know why she hated them.

There were footsteps in the distance, and Celie immediately looked up alertly.

When she saw that the person coming was Lord, she subconsciously wanted to escape again, but then gave up the idea.

"I found you." Lord stopped in front of her.

"What are you doing here?" Celie turned away, not looking at him. "Aren't you going to accompany your new friend?"

Lord didn't answer immediately, but slowly sat down beside her.

The distance was as close as usual, and this time Celie didn't move back.

"I remember," Lord looked up at the sunlight filtering through the interwoven leaves and branches, "when I first learned tracking magic, you were just as awkward."

"I'm not uncomfortable." Celie retorted immediately, but her voice unconsciously lowered.

"Remember? You once told me that my magical talent was barely passing."

The corner of Celia's mouth twitched slightly: "You must have remembered it wrongly. I didn't say that."

The elf lady chose to be stubborn, and Lord did not expose her.

"Then I improved the tracking magic, but you insisted it wasn't true and even ignored me for several days."

"Because... because that's heretical!"

How can you put punctuation first and then trace?

True tracking magic should be able to change the direction of attack when it is released.

Although Celia rarely uses this trick now.

After all, there is no magic more practical than a massive rain of arrows.

The range is large and the attack power is strong, so there is no need for tracking magic.

Lord chuckled: "But in the end you still let me teach you this trick, didn't you?"

Celia's earlobes turned red in an instant. It was an intense shame that even she, who was usually indifferent to emotions, was swept up in.

"Celiai," Lord suddenly said seriously, "Do you know what you mean to me?"

The elf girl's body paused noticeably, and the tips of her red ears lifted up involuntarily.

"You are my teacher, my best friend, my most important and first friend." Lord paused, "my companion."

"No one can take your place in my heart."

Celie turned her head, her golden eyes meeting her black eyes, both seeing only the other.

"The first and most important partner?"

"Yes."

"Really? So that's how it is." Celie muttered, "This isn't bad either."

Then she hugged her knees, placed her little head on them, and looked cunningly: "But is it really just like this for you?"

Miss Elf doesn't understand emotions, but she can be very greedy.

Since this man brought her out of the forest and took her through so many things, she even faced the gods.

She would not be satisfied with just being her first partner.

Because for Lord, Som, Norn, Eric and later Olivia will all become partners.

And I want to become an existence above that.

"What a greedy elf lady." Lord saw what Celie was thinking. It was obvious that being the first partner was not enough to comfort her.

It’s a pity that Miss Elf doesn’t understand love.

Lord didn't dare to ask for this kind of feeling.

After a short silence.

"That original book," Lord said suddenly, "I intend to give it to you for safekeeping."

"Why? You're the only one who can understand the words on it."

"I didn't say I wouldn't learn it," Lord looked at her seriously. "Besides, I'm looking forward to the day when you can interpret it. After all, you are—

He deliberately dragged out his tone: "You are the genius magician Miss Celia."

This long-lost name made Celie's heart skip a beat.

That was the name Lord often used when he first met her. Later, as they became closer, he rarely called her that.

"Besides," Lord continued, "I can't take this thing to the grave. I'll have to give it to you for safekeeping in the end, so I might as well give it to you sooner rather than later."

"Short and stupid guy!" she muttered softly, "Don't say such unlucky words!"

I originally wanted to say "human beings are short-lived", but when the words came to my lips I didn't dare to say them out loud.

She suddenly felt a little afraid of that day.

Lord pretended not to hear and continued, "When we get to the Elf Forest, I'm counting on you to take me to see the Sword of Holy Power. I heard that only a true saint can pull it out. Is that true?"

"Of course!" Celie replied without hesitation, "I've tried it before, but unfortunately."

She suddenly realized that she had let the cat out of the bag and quickly stopped talking.

But Lord had caught on to the message.

"Oh? So our genius wizard isn't the true saint after all!"

"Long-winded!"

Celie pretended to kick him, but when she raised her calf halfway she gently lowered it.

Their eyes met in the air and they smiled at the same time.
