Necromancer, summoning 055? What the heck?
Chapter 84 Remarks on the launch
Chapter 84 Remarks on the launch
It's been published, and I was told I should write a statement about it.
I've never written one before, but there's always a first time.
Just like there's always a first time signing a contract, a first recommendation, a first monthly pass, a first tip, and a first comment.
The first subscription is about to be generated.
First of all, thank you all for your continued support!
Many thanks to the editor, Wushu, for his help!
I am grateful to this country that allows me to sit in front of my computer and quietly type.
Thank you to my family for their support and understanding.
It will be available tomorrow, Monday at 12 noon. There won't be any plot delays. That's all.
The author doesn't write fast, but will try to update more chapters on the release date, posting as many as possible.
Please make an initial reservation.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the authors of the following two books for their chapter recommendations. If you like this type of book, you can check them out!
The Witcher: My Class Panel Has No Limit
The Immortal of Shushan Town
That concludes the main text. What follows is the author's digression; feel free to skip it if you're not interested.
--------------------------
Let me tell you how this book came about.
I've always enjoyed reading, but starting to write books was an accident.
In October 2023, I fell ill and was diagnosed with mycoplasma pneumonia. I stayed in the hospital for a week and developed a fever a few days after being discharged.
I went to the largest local hospital and stayed for nine days, receiving IV fluids four times a day. After being discharged, I developed a fever and started to panic.
Someone recommended Ruijin Hospital in Shanghai, which is said to be one of the top pulmonology hospitals in the country. I made several trips there, went for examinations, made appointments, and waited in line before finally getting admitted.
Various examinations, bronchoscopy, external testing, lung biopsy...
The puncture was painful, I had a high fever of 42 degrees Celsius, and I vomited blood for several days.
Unable to find the problem, the doctor kept upgrading my antibiotics, forcing down large doses of meropenem, and I stayed in the hospital for a full forty days.
Before the Lunar New Year, I had a CT scan, which showed that the lung infection was under control. I was discharged from the hospital and went home to prepare for the New Year.
Then, just a week later, he developed a fever again, and the whole family felt like the sky had fallen.
It was already past the 20th of the twelfth lunar month, so we could only stay at a smaller local hospital for the time being.
The doctor performed another bronchoscopy and sent the samples for further testing, which revealed a fungal infection. After another ten days or so of medication, I finally recovered.
At this last hospital, the nurses weren't as professional as I was. After all, I've been working in hospitals for so long, and I often have to remind them when they bring over IV bags: "This needs to be shielded from the light." They then quickly check the doctor's orders and suddenly realize what's going on.
The protective measures in the wards were nowhere near those in large hospitals. I even contracted COVID-19 during my hospitalization because all the doctors and nurses were infected...
But it did heal.
I complained to my family that seeing a doctor for this illness was like praying to gods and Buddhas; it mainly depended on luck.
I spent the Spring Festival in the hospital. When I was discharged, I calculated that I had 12 CT scans and enhanced CT scans in half a year. I asked the doctor how often I should have a follow-up check-up, and the doctor said that if I didn't have a fever, I should come later and have fewer CT scans.
After all that trouble, of course, he has a host of problems: lung nodules, localized calcification, emphysema, and pleural adhesions. In the doctor's words, our internal medicine department can only treat him to this extent. If we want to treat him any further, we need a surgeon to come and perform open-chest surgery.
But he was eventually discharged from the hospital.
I'm not saying this to elicit sympathy; on the contrary, I'm incredibly grateful that I eventually recovered.
I am grateful to the doctor who cured me, and I do not resent the doctor who did not cure me. I do not believe that they deliberately harmed me.
Thanks to the national medical insurance, I was able to travel for half a year at a reasonable cost, without incurring an unbearable financial burden.
Even because of this illness, I quit smoking, which I had never been able to quit, and was forced to start exercising to achieve what the doctor called "lung function compensation." Who knows, maybe my other health conditions will actually improve.
Then, because I was unemployed, I started writing a book.
Good fortune and misfortune are intertwined; that's absolutely true.
That's just my personality. There's no point in dwelling on the past if I can't change it. I'll move forward and look ahead.
During this period, the company also proposed a peaceful separation from me.
After all, I haven't been able to go to work for so long, and I don't like to make things difficult for people, so I agreed and thus became a "freelancer".
The idea of writing a book sprouted while I was lying in my hospital bed every day. On the one hand, lying in my hospital bed every day was just too boring.
Also, given my physical condition, I won't be able to go out to work for a while. There aren't many jobs available in my small hometown. In my current situation, I'm not good enough for food delivery, not good enough for security guard, and too old to take the civil service exam. My original profession is declining.
Then let's try "flexible employment".
Full of confidence at the beginning, I headed straight for the starting line.
Internal applications are rejected; direct applications are rejected; after repeated rejections, one can only slink away in disgrace.
I still remember that when I published that book on Qidian, a reader left me a message: "It's well written. If the editor signs you, let me know, and I'll invest."
Tsk tsk, look at that, even when others invest, they are very careful, afraid of wasting money. This is the reality for a newbie author.
With no hope of signing a contract, I deleted the book and went to a website that didn't require any special qualifications.
After writing for over a year and achieving some insignificant results, I shamelessly returned to Qidian's editors.
At the time, I hadn't been able to get in touch with him yet. It was Mr. Cheng, the author of "The Great Ming: Starting from the Border Army to Overthrow the Ming and Destroy the Qing," who helped me add the editor's QQ.
I'd like to thank him again; anyone interested in history can check him out.
Once I had the editor's contact information, I submitted the manuscript. It was rejected six times before this book was finally published.
Essentially, it's fair to say the author is a novice, a newbie, or even a literary youth.
In short, he lacks exceptional talent, has little writing experience, and suffers from a host of problems such as slow start, excessive foreshadowing, and creating plot holes.
I'm revising it now, trying to write it as well as possible.
I owe my success to the support of my readers! Thank you so much!
I've been in and out of the "black room" three times, and my data usage has repeatedly plummeted. It's you guys who have carried me all the way.
By the way, don't worry about my health. I've been taking traditional Chinese medicine for over a year, and my lung function is now basically normal. I can take deep breaths without any problems.
With a chronic disease card, after paying the initial fee, it only costs 200 yuan a month. Thank you again, motherland!
Some people say my writing is awkward and sentimental. I can only say that we just have different experiences.
Long-time readers know that I'm the biggest critic of this country.
My readers often say, "Who put this book on my phone?"
The next reply will definitely be, "You admit this is your phone!"
I may criticize and belittle my country, but I still love it, and that doesn't matter.
The above is the main process by which this book came about.
Finally, I'd like to share a heartfelt message with my wonderful readers.
Life has its sunshine and rain, its ups and downs.
Don't look back, look forward!
Come on!
