Marvel: The Imposter Inventor
Chapter 41 I'll confess to anything!
Chapter 41 I'll confess to anything!
Sparks and lightning all the way.
Well, actually not.
Luca and his group remained perfectly within sight of the car, maintaining their tracking.
However, to Luca's surprise, the vehicle ahead did not flee in the direction of Hell's Kitchen as he had expected, but instead headed towards a remote coastline near the Upper West Side.
'Could it be that I guessed wrong? Was it actually Kingpin who was supporting Dragan?'
'Or perhaps tonight's attack wasn't a coordinated attack by the same group as the previous ones?'
Knowing just how "popular" he is now, Luca has no doubt that multiple enemies may be eyeing him at the same time.
However, just as Luca began to reflect on and examine his preconceived notions...
Suddenly, the sound of voices came from the other end of the bugging device, which had previously only emitted heavy breathing and the sound of a car engine.
And it sounded like the person was on the phone reporting to someone about what happened tonight.
"I'm the boss."
"Stop cursing, boss! All my men are dead! That bastard Dragan lied to us! That kid has a tin monster at home!"
A series of loud slapping sounds came from the steering wheel, followed by the sharp screeching of tires screeching against the pavement.
"Damn! I almost ran into a police officer. Boss, believe me! I didn't drink any drugs tonight, just like in the movies! That monster punched Steve's head and blew his brains all over me."
On the other end of the bugging device, Luca listened to the man spouting nonsense, looked up at the big white ball of fluff playing with its fingers in the rearview mirror, and then rolled its eyes.
However, at least one thing Luca can confirm is true.
'Tonight's events were indeed related to Dragan!'
Another thing that surprised him was that the guy he let go was actually the leader of tonight's attackers.
'It seems like we might actually catch something,' Luca thought.
However, his thoughts would not be transmitted to the other end of the bugging device.
The phone call was still going on.
It's unclear what was said on the other end of the phone, but after a series of responses, the runaway finally spoke again.
"Boss, I'm sure no one's following me. I've already removed the license plates, but..."
"Yes, I know, but boss, this isn't about money anymore! That kid didn't die today, what if the boss finds out what we did?"
"Okay, okay, I'll go burn the car right away."
The call had already ended, but the sound of cursing continued to come from the other end of the bugging device.
It seems that after talking to the so-called 'boss' he mentioned, the escapee did relax a lot and was no longer as tense and silent as before.
Not long after, the fleeing van drove to the vicinity of an abandoned parking lot.
Moments later, flames and thick smoke shot into the sky, and in Luca's surveillance view, the tracker's signal started moving in another direction again.
On a warehouse dock on the northwest side of Manhattan.
Having narrowly escaped death, Tony carefully parked his beloved car before getting out, grumbling and cursing.
Despite its dilapidated appearance, this car was the key to Tony's numerous escapes and resurrections.
Therefore, in Tony's mind, this beat-up car, given to him by his deadbeat brother, is his only lucky ride.
After giving the car's windshield a light kiss, Tony sneaked off to the dark dock warehouse in the distance.
"Dong Dong Dong~"
"it's me!"
A moment later, the warehouse door was pushed open from the inside.
The person who opened the door peeked around and looked around before pulling Tony inside. "The boss is waiting for you in the small room!"
Feeling a little guilty, Tony subconsciously straightened the collar of his tattered jacket before cautiously walking toward the only lit partitioned shed in the warehouse.
"Boss, I'm back."
Tony, who was already extremely nervous, spoke softly from outside the door, his voice trembling.
A slightly impatient voice came from inside the door.
"Enter!"
The iron gate was pushed open, and the burly man with the big beard inside saw his capable henchman standing furtively at the door.
"Why aren't you coming in?!"
However, the bearded burly man had barely uttered those words when he cursed.
The next moment, Tony's head suddenly tilted forward, and then, for some unknown reason, he fell straight to the ground without a sound, his life hanging in the balance.
"Hold!"
Having been a seasoned figure in the underworld for a long time, the bearded, burly man immediately reached for the pistol on the coffee table next to him.
However, before he could even reach out and touch the gun...
A faint 'whoosh' of gunfire rang out, and the pistol in front of him was knocked away, spinning as it fell to the ground some distance away.
It makes a clanging sound like metal hitting cement.
Immediately afterwards, a robust woman holding a silenced pistol walked in, aiming the gun at her.
"Which gang are you from? Let's talk this out, don't be impulsive!"
However, he had only just finished speaking.
Only then did he notice what was behind the strong woman in front of him.
A handsome young man, hands in his pockets and glasses reflecting off his glasses, strolled out as if he were casually shopping.
Seeing him step over Tony's fallen 'corpse' without any hesitation and walk into the house, the bearded man suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.
Of course, he had already recognized the boy's identity through his highly recognizable face, which was also the reason for his great fear.
"It's you! How did you get here?! No! It's that idiot Tony!!"
Just when the bearded, burly man thought that was the end of it.
A large hand clad in strange armor suddenly reached out and braced itself against the door frame.
next moment.
"Squeak~ Click~"
The metal door frame first emitted a piercing twisting sound, and then the entire door frame, along with the fixed wall panel, cracked and shattered.
Then came a strange, seemingly dim-witted armored figure, who cautiously shuffled into the house. This bulky armored figure even politely reached out to steady the broken door frame to prevent it from collapsing completely.
"Your door, I'm so sorry. Hello, I'm Baymax!"
'A tin monster!'
In just one glance, the bearded burly man immediately understood why his trusted lieutenant had been so terrified.
But
'That's clearly carbon fiber armor! It's a robot!! It's a damn metal monster!!'
The burly man cursed wildly in his heart, but on the surface he dared not show any change in expression. Instead, he obediently raised his hands high above his head, his eyes filled with a desire to live.
"What do you want to know? I'll tell you everything!!"
