Chapter 79 Family Matters! It's all family matters! (Fourth update, please continue reading~)

Her attitude was neither humble nor arrogant, nor did she show any intimacy; she simply maintained the proper etiquette befitting a goddess of order, yet it also revealed that she had not completely closed the door to dialogue.

This was enough to ignite hope in Kronos.

Despite inviting the former god-king Cronus into the hall for a deep conversation, Themis, known for her allure, remained stern and unsmiling, showing no sign of intimacy or gentleness whatsoever.

Her eyes, which should have been sparkling with captivating light, were now like icy autumn water, reflecting an undeniable seriousness and indifference.

King Cronus felt intense displeasure at Themis's aloof attitude, but he forced himself to suppress his anger and pretended not to see it.

He even thought to himself with a touch of self-mockery that he had long since gotten used to it.

He couldn't even remember the last time Themis had given him a kind smile and spoken with such warmth.

When is it?

Why has such a promising situation turned out this way?
After the two primordial Titans were seated, Themis's clear voice, carrying an undeniable coldness and solemnity, slowly echoed in the hall: "Your Majesty, the King of Gods, you are not on Mount Otrothus, but have come to my secluded place. What brings you here?"

Upon hearing this, Cronus forced a smile, attempting to ease the tension: "My dear Themis, you are so wise and intelligent, surely you know why I've come?"

"Now, the sacred order of the universe has been challenged by the traitors like never before. Are you really going to sit idly by? Are you really going to watch the traitors trample on the sacred order?"

The voice of the God-King even carried a hint of pleading, as he tried to awaken Themis's duty as the guardian of order.

However, Themis's expression remained serious and calm. She looked directly at Cronus and said without backing down, "Your Majesty, the matter is not as serious as you say. This is merely a private family matter between you and your children."

Upon hearing this, Cronus's anger surged instantly, nearly erupting.

But He ultimately suppressed it, frowning deeply, and earnestly advised, "Dear Themis, the children of Oceanus, the children of Crios, the children of Hyperion, and even almost all the powerful gods in the universe have been drawn into this grand war."

"Can this really be considered merely a private matter for my family? Goddess of Justice, if you truly uphold the principles of justice, then please tell me earnestly in the name of sacred justice: do you truly believe that the sacred order of the universe is not under threat?"

Faced with the king of gods' almost interrogative plea, the holy goddess Themis chose to remain silent.

As the embodiment of justice, she would never utter a lie against her conscience.

She could only avoid the topic and said directly, "Your Majesty, I thank you for your high regard, but I cannot help you in this war."

Upon hearing this, Cronus could no longer tolerate it.

As the supreme ruler of the universe and the most powerful king of gods, He had already humbled Himself and swallowed His pride to ask for help, but all He received in return was a cold rejection!
His eyes widened, and he demanded sharply, “Why? Themis, why is this happening? You swore allegiance to me, you are the steadfast defender of order, but now, why do you not fulfill your sacred duty?”

Themis's expression remained calm, her golden eyes unfathomable, her words calm yet resounding: "Your Majesty, you know deep down that I will only protect the righteous order that is truly worth protecting."

"You!" Cronus suddenly stood up, his divine power almost out of control, and he nearly couldn't resist attacking directly.

However, in the end, He endured it.

Even though the goddess's unspoken message was that Her order was no longer worth protecting, it made Cronus so angry that he almost vomited blood on the spot.

The enraged god-king suppressed his overwhelming fury, clenching his teeth and squeezing out a single word: "Fine!" He took a deep breath, his tone turning cold and warning: "But, as the guardian of order, even if you don't protect my current order, you wouldn't rebel against it, would you?"

"You once swore a sacred oath of allegiance to me, you haven't forgotten, have you?"

Themis fell silent again, and the atmosphere in the hall became heavy.

After a long silence, she finally spoke, her voice carrying a hint of weariness: "I will not forget, I will abide by the laws of justice and uphold my own principles."

"Remember your words!" Cronus uttered these last words and refused to say another.

He turned around abruptly, filled with rage, and left Themis's temple.

Since He ascended the throne of God, no other deity has ever made Him feel such immense humiliation and injustice.

He feared that if he continued talking, he might really lose control and take action.

Themis watched Cronus, the king of the gods, leave in anger, then gently shook her head and let out a barely audible sigh.

The God-King was indeed still the same God-King; He couldn't even maintain his disguise for long.

If there were even the slightest possibility of salvaging the God-King's order, she would never do something that completely violates her own principles.

However, the truth is that the God-King's order has become utterly corrupt and beyond redemption.

Only by completely tearing things down and starting over can the universe be reborn.

Even if she were to violate some of the principles of the God-King's corrupt and stinking order, she could no longer defend it.

Zeus, who arrived a step too late and was cleverly hiding at the foot of the mountain, saw Cronus's angry departure.

He immediately knew that the God-King's trip would inevitably end in discord and failure.

Watching the God-King's angry departure, He blinked lightly, his mood instantly becoming very pleasant, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but turn up, revealing a happy smile.

Only when He is alone as a god can He reveal a hint of His youthful and carefree nature.

Only after confirming that the figure of the God-King had completely disappeared from sight did He leisurely and slowly embark on the mountain path to visit Themis.

He spoke only when he reached the gates of the temple, his voice not loud, but gentle and respectful: "Zeus, son of Rhea, Queen of the Gods, the embodiment of divine order and noble lady of justice, has come to see you."

Inside the palace, Themis's beautiful, slender eyebrows furrowed slightly at the sound.

She thought to herself: This father and son, one just left and the other arrived right after, it really was perfect timing.

She hesitated for a moment, but ultimately decided to meet the boy who could potentially replace Cronus.
