Chapter 98 The Legendary Stories of the Grandfathers

Chapter 98 The Legendary Stories of the Grandfathers (Tabletop RPG)
"Is what you said true?"

Upon hearing the president of the Supernatural Exploration Club say this, Horii immediately perked up. He wouldn't understand things like religion, gods, ghosts, or other ethereal concepts.

But if it's about supernatural beings controlling human minds, who knows if it's aliens playing tricks, then he'll get really excited!
"Absolutely true! And it's the 21st century, yet they act like medieval fanatics, constantly talking about divine punishment and purifying flames. Who would believe they aren't bewitched by something!"

The minister did not directly present evidence, but logically explained that the members of the Faith Angels Society were not right.

"And then you pulled out crowbars and beat them up?"

Upon hearing this, the head of the Supernatural Exploration Club smiled confidently and replied, "My grandfather said that to deal with these guys who have been bewitched by supernatural creatures, you have to use some 'strong stuff'!"

"What if someone gets killed?"

"I've been teaching everyone this (exorcism) for a long time, I guarantee it won't kill anyone~"

After saying that, the minister gave Horii a thumbs up.

Daigo and Horii were at a loss for words.

The student in front of us is somewhat extraordinary, and he has also influenced a group of students, making one wonder if they have also been affected by some supernatural being.

Unfortunately, the members of the Faith Angels Club were all beaten unconscious by them, so they are currently unable to have a thrilling reverse referee (debate) with the Supernatural Exploration Club.

"Okay... one more question, what is the pattern drawn on that piece of paper? And how did you make the minister on the other side... ah, how did you make him foam at the mouth and faint in such a short time?"

"That means the amulet worked!"

Horii thought the president of the Supernatural Exploration Club's words were somewhat irrelevant, but then he realized that the 'talisman' the other party was referring to was that stack of papers with unidentified symbols drawn on them.

"amulet……"

Daigo thought of the physiological reaction he had when he was near the old seal not long ago. Could it be that the drawings on those papers were something that could drive away alien life?

Although Ultraman Tiga is the guardian deity of Earth, the light from Orion is not exactly a product of Earth.

It's a pity Camilla isn't here, otherwise I could ask her if she knows what that symbol is.

Horii glanced at PDI and, seeing that Nori hadn't replied yet after going to find the information, asked directly, "Could you explain in detail what this 'amulet' you're talking about is?"

"of course can!"

Seeing that Horii and Daigo didn't take his words as nonsense, the president of the Supernatural Exploration Club was overjoyed. Then, as if forgetting his pain, he danced around on the bed and told the two stories his grandfather had written in his personal diary...

The beginning is quite cliché: a group of descendants of gold prospectors find ancient ruins left by their ancestors and recruit a group of mercenaries to explore them.

We split the profits 50/50 afterwards. (laughs)
The minister's grandfather was a mercenary in his day, and was said to be very skilled, wielding a samurai sword with great flair. (Questionable)

As the mercenaries ventured deeper into the American jungle, they unexpectedly encountered Anna Jones's team, who were also exploring the ruins. However, compared to the mercenaries, the people around the professor seemed rather weak.

“Anna Jones… I think I’ve heard that name before.”

Horii stroked his chin.

The name sounded familiar, although the student had mentioned it before, but he hadn't noticed it immediately.

“Jones…that person’s last name is ‘Jones,’ could it be…” Horii suddenly realized something.

"Dr. Indiana Jones?"

"It was Professor Anna Jones's father, a renowned archaeologist of that era."

In every sense.

The minister then went on to tell the story of his grandfather.

The captured Professor Anna Jones is forced to join a mercenary squad and use her archaeological knowledge inherited from her father, Indiana Jones, to help the descendants of gold prospectors find ancient ruins.

They did indeed find the ruins as they wished and entered them, but soon after they entered, strange things began to happen frequently. The team members either fell into traps, experienced hallucinations, or suddenly had mental breakdowns and attacked their own people... (Dice Girl is watching you)
Only five or six people eventually arrived at the so-called 'treasure vault,' but they discovered that it was not a vault filled with gold and treasure at all, but a place resembling a sacrificial ritual.

Then the diary was filled with a bunch of scribbles and gibberish, which the minister couldn't understand at all. It seemed that his grandfather's memory was in disarray, and he couldn't recall anything. (Going crazy)

When the writing resumed normally, the plot jumped directly to the part where he escaped with Professor Anna Jones, and for some unknown reason, the monster sealed under the altar was resurrected.

Then, just as the two were running until they were almost exhausted, Professor Anna Jones quickly took a piece of paper and wrote a symbol with special red paint, which 'scared' the roaring monster away.

That impression was so deeply etched in the minister's mind that he used an entire page of his diary to draw it.

The two then searched for a way to drive away the monsters within the ruins, using symbols to scare them away while following clues left by the natives.

They eventually found the artifact the natives used to summon the monster, and with the help of Professor Anna Jones (whose diary contained doodles), the monster was finally sucked into a starry passageway.

However, the ruins began to collapse due to the monster's previous rampage. The two were unable to dodge in time and were knocked unconscious by the stones. Unexpectedly, they came to a strange palace in their dream and met an old man with white hair who called himself 'Nodens'.

According to the description in the diary, whether it was for testing or just out of interest, the white-haired old man grabbed the minister's face and looked it over from left to right, then let go with great disappointment.

Guided by the mysterious old man, his grandfather and Professor Anna Jones awoke and successfully escaped the collapsed ruins.

Afterwards, the minister's grandfather retired from gambling, and he wrote the story in his diary. However, his family believed that it was a hallucination caused by his grandfather getting high while playing marijuana in America.

But the minister doesn't see it that way.

Whether it was due to the adolescent angst typical of his age, or the inspiration he had when he saw the diary, he felt that he understood everything and believed that all kinds of supernatural creatures did exist on Earth.

The current phenomenon of frequent monster appearances further confirms his view, which is why so many people believe what the minister promotes.

"..."

After hearing the minister's story, Horii and Daigo remained silent for a long time. If the marks on those papers hadn't actually had an effect, it would have been hard to believe that the story was true and not just his grandfather's wild thoughts after getting high on marijuana.

"Nordens..."

However, Daigo felt that the white-haired old man's name had a strange magic; just by reciting it, he inexplicably felt drowsy.

It felt as if someone was going to meet me in my dreams.
