Chapter 31 The earth dragon turns over
Believe it or not, there's plenty of rice, flour, and cooking oil in the kitchen; that's enough to feed their family for quite a while.

The kitchen is so big, with three rooms, and there are twenty or thirty jars of wine placed against the wall.

Vegetables, meat, cooking oil, milk, honey, nuts, and dried fruit are nothing compared to what made Xin Nian happy: she found dozens of small, sealed jars of salt and sugar.

The princess wouldn't use coarse salt or sugar; she would use only fine, high-quality products.

Salt and sugar are both strategic resources and are indispensable.

These dozens of small jars will last her for a while, which has solved her immediate problem.

Xin Nian packed all of these away, and took all the opened oil, salt, sugar, and various seasonings from the stove without hesitation.

By the time they finished their sweep, it was past midnight.

I was originally planning to take a bath at the Princess's place when I had some free time, but it seems I won't have that opportunity now.

The sixteen corpses from Ningzhu Cemetery were neatly arranged in the front yard.

Xin Nian happily went to the woodshed and collected all the chopped firewood, thinking that it would be useful when it got cold later.

Then they went to the small dark room next door where farmers were imprisoned, unlocked the door, and threw a large amount of gold, silver, and valuables at the door.

Time is running out; the opportunity has been given to them, but their fate depends on themselves.

When she floated into the fragrant boudoir of the princess, Xiao Jiuni was still struggling to climb out of the bathtub.

Xin Nian chuckled, and without saying a word, she stepped forward, grabbed the princess's long hair, and dragged her outside.

First, they threw the person at the door, then they tidied up the princess's belongings in her boudoir.

Since everyone has ended up in exile, no one should look down on anyone else. Xin Nian didn't look down on the exquisite clothes that others had worn in their wardrobes, not even the wardrobe ends.

It's still better than their family wearing those smelly prison clothes, right?

Take all the bedding, thick and thin, including the bed that looked like it hadn't been used much.

Anything that could be displayed in the princess's villa must be of the finest quality—stools, tables, fragrant wood shelves, and even that gilded wooden screen with inlaid flowers and branches. Hehe, now they're all cherished by Nian Nian.

After happily ransacking the side room, Xin Nian walked out of the room, tilted her head, and smiled at Xiao Jiu Ni, who was crawling on the ground.

"Let's go."

Xin Nian picked up Xiao Jiu Ni like a little chick and appeared at the gate of the villa in a flash.

A spatial blade was swung out, and the plaque of Yunlin Villa hanging at the entrance was broken in two.

At the third tier, she can finally use her basic skill, Space Blade.

Spatial skills allowed her to regain some of her intuition for using her superpowers. Xin Nian understood that if she went any further, the recovery might not be as quick.

After all, the higher you go, the stronger and purer the supernatural energy you need to absorb and circulate.

But she's optimistic; even if things aren't what they used to be, they're good enough for the current situation.

Many things cannot be rushed. A good mindset will make everything twice as effective.

"Hey, come here." Xin Nian couldn't remember the name of the puppet, so she just called it out randomly.

A burly man with a dark face appeared three meters away from her and silently moved his stiff neck.

Xin Nian casually tossed him two flatbreads. "From now on, I'll call you Number One. Follow me, but don't get too close, and don't let anyone discover your whereabouts."

She grabbed Xiao Jiuni and disappeared on the spot.

The burly, dark-faced man sniffed the scent carried on the wind and chased after it in one direction.

After advancing to the third level, Xin Nian felt that all her physical indicators had significantly improved.

The distance between teleportations has increased. It has increased from a maximum of ten meters to fifty meters.

The ability to teleport instantly and launch consecutively at an even faster speed made her very satisfied.

She carried the person directly to a small grove not far from the exiled prisoners' gathering place, threw him in front of a ditch, and smiled at Xiao Jiu Ni with sparkling eyes.

Xiao Jiuni was pulled out of the bathtub, and she was only wearing an undergarment.

Now, disheveled and thrown into a completely unfamiliar place, his eyes no longer held any trace of viciousness or malice; they were filled only with fear and pleas for mercy.

Xin Nian smeared mud all over her face, where half of her nose had been cut off, and then took out a pair of small scissors and cut her beautiful long hair into a messy, dog-chewed style.

He nodded in satisfaction.

“Princess, you are completely different from the confident and arrogant person you were yesterday.” She tilted her head with a grin, watching her as if she were watching a good show. “I wonder how long you can survive in this apocalyptic world without your beautiful clothes and your status as a princess.”

"I can't wait!" the little girl said, her eyes sparkling.

Xiao Jiuni shook her head desperately, biting her lip and looking up at the grinning monster with a pleading expression.

Fear was like a sharp blade, constantly cutting open her broken heart.

Bye-bye, good luck!

Xin Nian smiled and disappeared on the spot, leaving behind Princess Jiu Ni, who could neither shout nor move, and who was left helpless and alone.

It's unclear how much time passed before two tall, slender figures finally appeared on Xiaolinzi's side.

"Your Highness, it's...it's like this. The princess isn't dead, but her tendons in her hands and feet have been severed..." Even with Zhu Yan's high skill and daring, he couldn't help but turn slightly pale at this moment.

He had already secretly checked out the villa. Many of the rooms were empty; everything had vanished into thin air.

That little devil, who kills as easily as taking something from a bag, is not only ruthless, but also possesses the great supernatural power of conjuring objects out of thin air!
"What's the panic? It's too close to leave him here. A quick search might reveal something unusual. Go and dump him in the ravine across from Shantiao Village. Whether he lives or dies is entirely up to luck."

Zhu Yan dared not say or ask anything, and responded with a sound as he was about to go and pick up Princess Jiu Ni.

"Have someone burn that villa down. It's a den of filth, disgusting to look at." The man pulled an iron plaque from his pocket and flicked it to Zhu Yan. "Leave this at the scene."

"Yes."

Xin Nian didn't immediately return to the group. Seeing the large group of people sleeping peacefully at the gathering place, she happily continued picking fruits and mushrooms on this hillside.

I didn't pick much when I left in a hurry, but since I still have some time, I'll continue picking.

After gathering enough mushrooms, wild berries, and wild pears to eat for several days, Xin Nian suddenly felt her feet sway.

At first, I thought it was my imagination, but then I realized that a stone next to me was tilted.

She thought to herself that this was not good.

Is this an earthquake?
Xin Nian quickly gathered up what she had picked and hurried back to the camp.

An earthquake would definitely wake everyone up, so she had to sneak in during the chaos to avoid being discovered.

The ancients called earthquakes "earth dragon turning over" because they believed that earthquakes were related to earth dragons. Every now and then, the underground dragon would turn over and move, and then an earthquake would occur.

Ancient people were extremely devout when they encountered earth dragons turning over, just like they are now...

Many of the convicts, awakened by the commotion, were in a state of chaos, shouting and falling to the ground, kneeling and kowtowing towards the faintly white sky in the east, muttering incessantly.

Xin Nian: ...

Xie Ninglan and her husband hadn't slept at all. Ever since their daughter left, they had been counting down the days, anxiously waiting.

The earthquake struck suddenly. Xin Wenyuan was the first to throw his youngest son onto his back and bounce up.
