Chapter 50 The Ji Family
Liu Jianhong is currently uncertain about the situation.

He didn't know whether Leng Yunting truly knew or was deliberately trying to provoke him.

Only Leng Yunting and Liu Jianhong remained in the living room.

Leng Yunting looked at the man in front of him and went straight to the point.
"Yiyi isn't your child, is she?"

As soon as he said this, Liu Jianhong's expression changed.

He thought that only he and the deceased Song Xiwen knew about this, since the Song family didn't know either.

But Leng Yunting immediately saw through him.

Actually, Leng Yunting just wanted to provoke him; he wasn't sure.

Liu Jianhong's behavior shows that what he said is true.

"I don't know what you're talking about. She is my child." Liu Jianhong vehemently denied it.

"You should know that if I can find out, do you think the Ji family can't?" Leng Yunting said coldly.

The moment the name "Ji family" was mentioned, Liu Jianhong's expression turned even uglier.

Liu Jingyi is indeed not his child; she is Song Xiwen's child with someone else.

When Song Xiwen approached him, she was already pregnant, but only for a month, so it was impossible to tell.

The goddess that Liu Jianhong had liked for so many years suddenly came up to him and said she wanted to marry him. He was so happy he almost went crazy.

Liu Jianhong initially thought Song Xiwen was joking, and he was still in a daze when the two got their marriage certificate.

Unfortunately, before he could recover from his joy, Song Xiwen dealt him a heavy blow.

She told her she was pregnant and that their marriage was just a formality.

She won't interfere with him, and he can't interfere with her.

Of course, the Song family would provide him with all kinds of help—connections, money.

Liu Jianhong was tempted.

So the poor boy from back then has turned his life around and become the Liu Jianhong we know today.

Actually, he did ask back then, whose child was it?
Song Xiwen didn't name anyone specifically, she just said one word: Ji.

The Ji family is on par with the Leng family.

The Leng family was implicated for some reason, which is why Leng Yunting came here.

The Ji family, however, is a breath of fresh air.

Liu Jianhong didn't actually know the specifics, and probably knew less than Leng Yunting.

“Jingyi is indeed not from my Liu family. I only know that her biological father’s surname is Ji, and I know nothing else.”

"Why do you know?"

After he finished speaking, he looked up, his eyes filled with curiosity.

Leng Yunting's eyes were sharp as he stared intently at every subtle change in Liu Jianhong's face, confirming that he was not lying.

In fact, Leng Yunting really didn't know; it was just that Ji Yu had casually mentioned it that day.
The younger sister-in-law looks so much like her younger brother-in-law, which is why this happened today.

Leng Yunting was also surprised that he actually managed to get some information out of him.

No wonder, no wonder he always turned a blind eye to what Chen Biyu did to Yiyi.

After all, they're not his own children.

"You don't need to know how I know. Just keep your mouth shut, and I guarantee that what happens next will have nothing to do with you."

"Think about your son outside, you should know what to do."

Leng Yunting looked at Liu Jianhong and said coldly.

Liu Jianhong stared at the person in front of him in horror.

How much does he actually know?

Liu Jianhong dared not linger any longer and got up to leave.

Chen Biyu was terrified as she watched Liu Jianhong walk out in a panic. She quickly went to meet him.
"Brother Hong, what's wrong with you?"

"It's nothing. You'll know what you need to know. Don't ask questions you shouldn't."

Chen Biyu was a little confused by Liu Jianhong's actions.

"Dad, why are you saying that to Mom? She's just worried about you," Liu Yunyun said without complaint. Chen Biyu pulled Liu Yunyun aside and whispered to Liu Jianhong,

"Yunyun is immature, she's just concerned about you. So if Jingyi doesn't get a divorce, what about your job?"

Liu Jianhong glanced at her and said coldly, "What, now even you look down on me? Do you think I have to sell my daughter to become a legitimate wife?"

"No, no, that's not how it is."

Chen Biyu quickly explained, as she was genuinely puzzled.

What exactly is going on with Liu Jianhong?

It feels like whatever I say will land me in his line of fire.

"From now on, you don't need to worry about Jingyi's situation. Just take care of you and your daughter. Also, I know about the Chen family's affairs, but I've only turned a blind eye because of you all these years. But that doesn't mean I don't know anything."

Upon hearing this, Chen Biyu immediately knew something was wrong.

She had thought that Liu Jianhong wouldn't know because she had done it so discreetly, but it seems she was still careless.

Liu Jingyi entered the house, but the soundproofing was poor to begin with, so she could hear Leng Yunting and Liu Jianhong's conversation clearly.

So, she really isn't a child of the Liu family.

But how could she be a child of the Ji family?

impossible!
She tried hard to recall if she had missed any important details!

She racked her brains, but she couldn't recall the original book mentioning that Liu Jingyi wasn't a child of the Liu family.

What the hell is going on.

Liu Jingyi slowly walked towards Leng Yunting, clutching the hem of his shirt, tilting her small face up to look at him expectantly, and softly asked,
"Is this true?"

Leng Yunting pinched her chin.

Her delicate face is so beautiful, she's like a work of art.

His eyes were so clear.

She really used all her bad intentions on him.

Leng Yunting sighed helplessly.

"Ah."

After Leng Yunting finished speaking, he grabbed her waist with one hand. "Comrade Liu Jingyi, when did I hit you?"

Liu Jingyi didn't care about asking anything else at this point, but she wasn't particularly guilty. She blinked her eyes, looking completely innocent.

"Did I say that? No, they clearly misunderstood."

Seeing that her ability to feign ignorance was even more masterful, Leng Yunting realized that she had become even more adept at it.

Her delicate face, filled with an innocent expression, made her seem utterly innocent.

Leng Yunting tightened his grip, holding the little girl in his arms even closer. He lowered his head and asked, "Did they really misunderstand?"

"Of course."

Liu Jingyi would certainly not admit that she deliberately misled them.

"Honey, don't change the subject. You haven't told us what happened yet."

Leng Yunting casually brushed the stray hairs from her forehead with his hand.
"It's just what you heard, but that's all I know."

"Oh."

Liu Jingyi suddenly didn't know what to say.

"Yiyi, no matter whose daughter you are, you are now just my wife, understand?"

"Ah."

Liu Jingyi looked up and stared straight at him, sparing no words with sweet talk.
"Husband, it's great to have you!"

"Honey, I love you so much!"

Leng Yunting listened to her sudden confession, knowing full well that it might just be sweet talk.

But his heart was still pounding, beating very fast.
