Chapter 10 Two Beast Husbands
Seeing that Chao Sheng had agreed, Yin Xu smiled faintly. He walked to Chao Sheng's side and took out a finely polished red coral bracelet from his white woolen beast-cloak. "Logically speaking, the marriage can only be considered truly settled when the female beastman accepts the male beastman's gift today."

The coral was polished very finely, and some exquisite seaweed and flowers were engraved on it. The lustrous red color was pleasing to the eye.

Even after Chao Sheng transformed into a mermaid, she was only about two meters long from head to tail.

After swimming a couple of strokes, she looked at the still human-shaped silver fluff with a barely perceptible look of doubt in her eyes.

Yin Xu smiled faintly and said, "I'm used to using human form."

“Okay.” Chao Sheng didn’t have the habit of digging into things, nor did she want to find out secrets that others were unwilling to tell.

She swam to her little nest with Bai Ni and Yin Xu, feeling the water temperature gradually getting colder. Chao Sheng had also arrived home.

"Are you hungry? I still have some cod."

The cod was caught last night, and she used her magic to preserve it; it's still fresh.

Bai Ni thought that Chao was complaining that he had eaten too much, so he twitched his ears and lowered his head shyly. "No need, I can hunt for food myself later."

Bai Ni and Yin Xu looked at her, seemingly puzzled, as if they didn't understand what she was saying.

Chao Sheng turned slightly to the side, looking at Bai Ni with a half-smile in her eyes, "Didn't you have something to explain to me?"

“As for you,” Chao Sheng looked at the silent Yin Xu, then changed the subject, “tell me your purpose.”

The shrewd priestess didn't believe in love at first sight. Although she could sense that Yinxu meant no harm, she didn't want to experience being deceived and misled again.

Bai Ni blinked guiltily, his eyes darting around. His lips, neither thick nor thin, moved silently, as if he wanted to explain but hesitated because of something. He rubbed his hair in self-loathing. Yin Xu, on the other hand, kept his head down and remained silent. The soft white fur on his shoulders brushed against his handsome cheeks, and his slightly dejected expression added to his pitiful and broken appearance.

"Who's going to speak first?" Chao Sheng asked in a low voice, feigning anger, her purple eyes glancing at them indifferently.

Bai Ni glanced at Chao Sheng furtively, thinking she was really angry, and quickly said, "I'll talk, I'll talk!"

Immediately, Chao Sheng and Yin Xu's gazes were focused on Bai Ni. Bai Ni's raised eyebrows drooped listlessly as he slowly explained, "Sheng Sheng, the reason I advised you to agree during the day was because it is indeed a regulation of the polar sea area. I was afraid that if you refused, those beastmen would harm you."

While the Whale Giant Tribe was indeed powerful, they couldn't withstand so many orcs. For the first time, Bai Ni felt distressed by his own lack of strength; he wished he were stronger.
