Chapter 15 The Cat is Gone?!
"Still that proprietress?"

Chen Zheyan sighed repeatedly, his tone casual with a Beijing accent, "Third brother, this won't do, this won't do. You're going further and further down the path of moral depravity. From now on, you'll be scum, a disgrace to society. I'll be too embarrassed to even mention your name when I'm in this industry."

"..." Huo Jingcheng.

-

Time flies, and it's Saturday again.

Su Ruoyun had already made an appointment with the pet hospital for 11:00 AM.

Around 10:30, she arrived at the pet hospital. The hospital was filled with a strong, pungent smell of disinfectant and hypochlorous acid.

As soon as Su Ruoyun took the panda out, it became restless, scratching frantically at the wooden tabletop with its little paws. Su Ruoyun lowered her voice and coaxed it gently, and also used some small toys to amuse it.

After a few minutes, perhaps having adjusted to its environment, the kitten began to return to normal.

Su Ruoyun looked around listlessly, and when she caught sight of a pair of deep black eyes outside the glass door, she was momentarily stunned.

The man gripped the doorknob and pushed the door open to enter.

She immediately stood up, gathering her skirt to her side, and greeted him, "Mr. Huo."

I never expected to run into Huo Jingcheng here.

Her gaze fell on the man dressed rather casually. His clothes were not as business-like or formal as usual. His casual clothes made him look tall and broad-shouldered with a narrow waist. Compared to boys in their early twenties, he had more of the leisurely air of a mature man.

"Boss Yun."

Huo Jingcheng's gaze fell on Su Ruoyun. It was a hot day, and Su Ruoyun was wearing a light yellow dress. The light color made her skin look even smoother and whiter, like a piece of porcelain.

Su Ruoyun's gaze didn't linger on Huo Jingcheng for long. Instead, it moved down to the German Shepherd standing at his feet. It was a robust and handsome dog. She took the initiative to ask, "Do you own this dog?"

"No, it's my friend's dog. He didn't have time, so he asked me to bring it here for a bath."

Since the pet hospital also provides animal bathing services, Su Ruoyun didn't suspect anything. However, she did feel that she and Huo Jingcheng had been meeting frequently lately.

A soft "meow~" brought Su Ruoyun's attention back.

When she turned to look at the kitten on the table, 'Panda' had already jumped onto the climbing frame next to it and, with light, stealthy steps, moved towards Huo Jingcheng.

Before she could call out "Panda" to try and call back her cat sister, the little panda had already lifted its front paws and pounced into Huo Jingcheng's arms.

Huo Jingcheng also released the leather leash holding the black-backed wolfhound and caught the little fat cat. The heavy little thing nestled in his arms. The cat weighed fifteen pounds and had long fur, making it look exactly like a mountain eagle.

The black-backed wolfhound took a few steps forward and stopped in front of Su Ruoyun. It lowered its head and rubbed its nose against her ankle. Then it opened its mouth and bit her skirt, pulling her towards Huo Jingcheng.

Su Ruoyun was afraid that her skirt would be torn by the cat, and also wanted to bring her cat back, so she followed its momentum and walked forward to Huo Jingcheng.

"come over."

Fortunately, the kitten wasn't so treacherous. Upon hearing Su Ruoyun's meow, it politely raised its head and made a gesture as if it wanted to leave.

Seeing this, Huo Jingcheng handed the cat to Su Ruojun with one hand, put his hands in his pockets, and casually asked, "What's its name?"

"panda."

Huo Jingcheng had only glanced at it briefly on his phone before, but now that he saw it in person, it was indeed true to its name. This milk cat looked like a little panda, all white except for two black circles around its eyes.

He smiled.

Su Ruoyun perhaps noticed the reason for his smile, and tightened her grip on the cat slightly. Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of a white cat hair stuck to Huo Jingcheng's shoulder. She pointed at it and indicated to Huo Jingcheng, "There's a cat hair here."

Her tone naturally revealed a hint of Beijing accent.

Huo Jingcheng turned his head, and whether he genuinely didn't see it or pretended not to, his gaze towards the girl in front of him carried a hint of inquiry. Su Ruoyun tiptoed, intending to quickly remove the cat fur from Huo Jingcheng's body, but an inopportune feeling of déjà vu flashed through her mind.

I inexplicably felt like I had done this action before.

She composed herself, pinched the ends of the cat's fur with her delicate fingers, and removed it.

A tiny cat hair landed in Su Ruojun's palm. She casually blew on it, and it floated away.

result……

It floated down to Huo Jingcheng's chest.

Su Ruoyun: "Why don't you... do it again yourself?"

She didn't know that such a coincidence would happen, and the white hair just returned to Huo Jingcheng's clothes.

Huo Jingcheng glanced at the girl's embarrassed expression and casually dusted it off.

Su Ruoyun only breathed a sigh of relief when the white feather landed on the ground.

At this moment, the doctor came over from next door, easing her embarrassment. The doctor gestured for Su Ruojun to take the cat over for a check-up.

Su Ruoyun paused, her mind racing with various rumors circulating online. She turned to Huo Jingcheng and asked, "Mr. Huo, could you do me a favor?"

……

Fearing that the kitten would hate her, Su Ruoyun stayed in the lobby and didn't go into the examination room, asking Huo Jingcheng for help.

Half an hour later, the man carried the listless kitten out of the operating room after the spaying surgery was completed.

Having just undergone surgery, the kitten was no longer as affectionate as before. It looked dejected and withdrawn, lying on the small table with its head down like a princess.

"Thank you, Mr. Huo."

"You're welcome," came a steady male voice.

Huo Jingcheng's gaze fell on the kitten in the cat carrier, and he asked, "How much does it weigh?"

"About fifteen jin (2.5 catties)."

"..."

The woman and her cat stayed at the veterinary hospital for observation for another ten minutes or so before Su Ruoyun left with her cat.

After saying goodbye to Huo Jingcheng, she carried the cat carrier in both hands and walked out of the pet hospital.

Because she was worried that the kitten would be uncomfortable in the cat carrier, Su Ruoyun didn't zip it up and put it directly in the back seat of the car.

Just as she was about to close the car door, a voice called out to her, "Miss, here are the cat treats you bought."

Su Ruoyun glanced back and realized she had forgotten the snacks she bought for the panda. She let go of the car door handle, quickly stepped forward, took the large bag from the nurse, and thanked her, "Thank you."

The nurse smiled and said, "You're welcome."

Su Ruoyun carried the plastic bag back to the car, closed the door, placed the bag on the passenger seat, and walked around the front of the car to the driver's seat.

The pet hospital and the apartment were not far apart, and since it wasn't rush hour, Su Ruoyun arrived at the entrance of the residential area in about half an hour.

The Mercedes stopped in the underground parking garage. Su Ruoyun got out of the car, opened the back door, and looked closely. The cat carrier was empty. A sense of foreboding welled up in her heart. After looking more closely, she realized that the kitten was no longer in the car.
