Chapter 95 Hunting the Alpha Wolf

Wyatt, on the other hand, was on the second floor of the farmhouse, using a high-powered telescope, several ground cameras, and a drone to oversee the operation and record evidence.

Time passed silently, second by second.

As the sun gradually sank in the west, it painted the sky a magnificent orange-red.

This is dusk, the moment when day and night alternate, and also the most dangerous hunting time in the wilderness, because most carnivores hunt at this time!

The cold began to intensify, and the wind became even more biting. The Arc'teryx clothing worked wonders, completely shielding the wearer from the cold wind.

While hunting, Lin Yu-an did not forget his other task: to conduct product testing of Archaeopteryx.

Around 5:30, Wyatt's suppressed growl came through the walkie-talkie.

"They're here! Five at the eastern entrance of the valley! They're moving using the shadows of the ridge! Be alert!"

Lin Yu'an locked onto that area using a high-powered scope.

In the soft yet clear light of dusk, the wolf pack appeared as ghosts lined up, cleverly concealing themselves with the undulations of the terrain, each step taken with extreme caution.

Bringing up the rear was the enormous Alpha wolf, its black fur appearing even more majestic in the setting sun.

However, what happened next surprised everyone.

"Something is wrong!"

Lin Yu'an said in a very low voice on the team channel, "They've stopped, they're 300 meters away from the herd."

Through the scope, the Alpha wolf stopped behind a thicket, only revealing half its head to observe, appearing unusually cautious.

Then it let out a very low howl.

Two smaller, young male wolves immediately darted out from the pack, forming a large arc, and began to cautiously flank the herd.

“They’re testing us!” Wyatt’s voice was somewhat impatient.

"These two are decoys; they want to test our reaction!"

The two wolves began harassing the herd, sometimes charging and sometimes retreating, trying to disrupt the herd and separate the young or weak individuals.

The cattle began to stir restlessly, and the guard dogs growled warningly, but the wolves did not launch a deadly attack.

"Can we fire? They're chasing us!"

Clay's anxious voice came through the walkie-talkie.

“No!” Wyatt’s voice rang out from everyone’s walkie-talkies.

"We haven't captured the process of them causing real harm yet! We have to wait! Wait until they show their fangs!"

The last rays of the setting sun were fading rapidly, and time was dragging on endlessly.

Suddenly, a sudden change occurred!
"West! Three o'clock! Behind the haystack!"

Wyatt's voice suddenly boomed through the walkie-talkie, filled with shock and urgency.

"There are more than five wolves! There are two more! Damn it, it's a feint!"

Just as everyone's attention was drawn to the two bait wolves, two other undetected wolves silently crept up to within eighty meters of Bo and Clay's ambush point!

Their target is the other flank of the cattle herd!
This is the real killer move!
The mother wolf let out a sharp howl, as if sounding the call to arms! The three wolves charged towards the cattle like arrows released from a bow!
At the same time, the Alpha male wolf in the distance led the remaining two wolves in a frontal charge!
Under the cover of dusk, the entire wolf pack launched a full-scale attack on the cattle herd from three directions!
"They're attacking! Open fire! Everyone, you're free to fire!"

"This is legal! Give them a good beating!"

Wyatt's voice was hoarse from the adrenaline rush and filled with murderous intent!
The shackles of the law have been completely broken at this moment!

"Boom—!" Clay's pump-action shotgun fired first! Countless lead bullets instantly knocked the wolf charging at the front to the ground!

Bo's AR-10 also began to roar, and a dense hail of bullets left a clear dust line on the snow, successfully separating the mother wolf and another wolf from the herd, buying the calf a few precious seconds!
On the high ground, Lin Yu'an's crosshairs remained unusually steady.

He ignored the henchmen and focused intently on the massive Alpha wolf charging head-on.

This is the leader of the wolf pack. Once it falls, the battle will collapse instantly!

But the male wolf was extremely cunning. It used the running cattle as cover, its body appearing and disappearing among the herd, giving Lin Yu'an no stable shooting window at all!

"I can't lock onto it! It's using the cows as cover!" Garrett shouted anxiously.

Just then, the mother wolf, which had been suppressed by the firepower, suddenly changed direction, pounced on a panicked calf, and opened her blood-red mouth to bite the calf's neck!

Lin Yu'an's second bullet had already arrived silently.

Another loud bang ended the male wolf's torment and madness.

The two leaders were killed in quick succession within a dozen seconds, completely shattering the will of the remaining wolves.

They let out mournful howls, tucked their tails between their legs, and scattered in all directions without looking back.

The battle is over.

Three wolf carcasses lay on the snow.

The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder and blood, mixed with the terrified gasps of the cattle.

When the brothers met up from their respective ambush points and walked to the body of the she-wolf.

They all understood that if Lin Yu'an hadn't abandoned the seemingly most threatening male wolf at the crucial moment and instead shot the female wolf instead, the battle would never have ended so quickly.

Only then did Garrett belatedly realize, "How could I not have thought of that! Once an Alpha Wolf's mate dies, the other one will absolutely lose its mind!"
