Chapter 79 The Champion from China!
With Clay withdrawing from the competition on the 87th day, Lin Yu'an was left as the only lone figure on the entire "Wilderness Solitude: Grizzly Mountain" stage.

But he was completely unaware of this, and continued to live at his own pace on this frozen land, day after day.

Meanwhile, thousands of kilometers away in the production center in Los Angeles, sample footage was playing on a huge screen wall.

Director Mark looked at the young Chinese man on the screen, who was inspecting traps in the snow, and a complex yet gratified smile appeared on his face.

"ended."

He said to Michelle King beside him.

"Yes, Mark, he won."

"They won in a way that none of us anticipated.

Mark nodded and picked up the phone on the table.

Before officially going to pick up their champions and bring them home, there is something more important and meaningful to do.

The call connected to that small apartment in Austin.

"Hello, is this Ms. Arya McKinley? I'm Mark Johnson, the executive director of the show 'Living in the Wild'."

Arya's heart tightened on the other end of the phone, and her breathing became rapid: "Yes...yes! Mr. Mark, hello! Is it Lin...is something wrong with Lin?"

Mark chuckled gently on the phone: "No, Ms. McKinley, please relax. Lin is very well, better than any of us could have imagined."

"I'm calling to tell you some good news... a huge surprise."

"The last competitor to Lin this season, Clay Jenkins, has withdrawn from the competition due to health reasons."

"So, I am very pleased to inform you that your husband has become the ultimate champion of this season's 'Wilderness Solitary: Grizzly Mountain'! He has won the one million dollar prize!"

"What?" Arya was stunned. Her mind went blank, and she could hardly believe her ears.

"You...you mean...Lin, he won?" Her voice trembled.

Mark answered affirmatively, "Yes, he won. He not only persevered to the end, but in an awe-inspiring way. What he did in this wilderness will be recorded in history!"

After confirming the news, she covered her mouth, trying hard to hold back the tears welling up in her eyes.

All her worries, longings, and fears vanished in that moment. Her Lin, her hero, he did it!

Mark waited until she calmed down a bit before continuing, "Ms. McKinley, we have another little plan. In three days, on the ninety-second day of Lin's life, we will send a medical and film crew to pick him up and take him home."

"We'd like to invite you to join us at Lake Chirko to personally present this surprise to your husband. Would you like to?"

“I…I do! Of course I do!” Arya agreed without hesitation, her voice filled with excitement and anticipation.

The ninety-second day has arrived.

On this day, the weather at Lake Chirko was exceptionally clear, and the sunlight shone on the snow-covered ground, reflecting a dazzling light.

As usual, Lin Yu'an checked the traps and then sat at the entrance of the shelter, carefully sharpening his multi-tool with a whetstone.

At noon, a familiar roar of propellers came from the horizon.

"Huh? Another check-up?" Lin Yu'an looked up at the sky, thinking it was just another routine medical visit.

However, as the helicopter drew closer, he realized something was wrong.

This time, the helicopter that arrived was larger than any before.

The helicopter landed slowly on an open snowfield not far from the camp.

The hatch opened, and there were significantly more people getting off this time than before—in addition to familiar faces like Michelle, security chief David, and doctor Anderson, there were two photographers carrying professional cameras, as well as several staff members who looked like assistants.

Lin Yu'an simply assumed that the medical examinations would become more rigorous and comprehensive as the process progressed, so he didn't think much of it and calmly went to meet them.

As usual, Dr. Anderson gave him a thorough physical examination. The results showed that he was still in very good health, except for some weight loss and a deficiency in some vitamins.

After the inspection was completed, Michelle stepped forward and said, "Lin, congratulations on making it to the ninety-second day. As is customary, we need to conduct a periodic interview with you to discuss your thoughts on these past ninety-plus days."

Lin Yu'an nodded and sat down on a wooden stake. The two photographers immediately found the best position and pointed their lenses at him.

Michelle asked, "My first question is, looking back on these past ninety-plus days, are there any choices you regret or are glad you made with the ten pieces of equipment you brought?"

Lin Yu'an pondered for a moment and replied, "I'm so glad I brought an extra piece of waterproof tarpaulin, which gave me an extra piece to make a canoe, which led to my wonderful adventure."

"But if I have any regrets, my biggest regret is not choosing a saw. That was a major mistake, and I paid the price for it in a lot of my subsequent work."

Michelle continued, "My second question is, looking back now, do you regret your survival strategy of investing a lot of energy in building luxurious shelters and even making pottery?"

Lin Yu'an smiled and shook his head: "I have no regrets. I came here not only for physical survival, but also for psychological survival."

"Chinese people have a deep attachment to houses, and so do I. So a sturdy home that I have put countless hours of effort into building is my spiritual sustenance and psychological foundation."

"As for pottery making, why can't I do it now that my food supply is temporarily stable? I know some people won't approve, but this is me, Lin Yu-an's way of life."

Michelle nodded in agreement. "What would you like to say to those who support you and those who question you?"

Lin Yu'an's gaze sharpened: "To all those who support me, wherever you are, I can feel it. You are one of the forces that keep me going, and I will always remember you."

"As for those who don't approve of me..." A disdainful smile curled at the corner of his lips.

"Get lost and go support the players you think are good. Stop trying to show off in front of me. I don't care what those fleas hiding behind keyboards think."

The atmosphere of the interview froze slightly because of his tough answer.

Michelle cleared her throat: "So, Lin, one last question: how many more days do you think you can hold out given your current condition and supplies?"

Lin Yu'an glanced in the direction of the shelter and calmly replied, "My mental state has been adjusted very well, and I am no longer as vulnerable as I was forty days ago."

"As for food, the bear meat and venison combined, at the most conservative estimate, are enough for me to eat for more than a month."

"So, theoretically, as long as I don't finish my food, I can keep going."

However, right after he finished speaking, security supervisor David suddenly stepped forward with a relieved and radiant smile on his face.

He said, "Lin, actually... you don't need to hold on for another day."

Lin Yu'an was taken aback by his words and looked at him with some confusion.

David's voice grew louder and stronger: "Because everyone else has already dropped out. Lin Yu'an, you are the sole survivor of 'Wilderness Solitary Life: Grizzly Mountain,' the champion of this season!"

"champion?"

Lin Yu'an's eyes instantly filled with disbelief and astonishment as he stared blankly at the staff members who were smiling at him.

Just then, he felt a warm and familiar hand gently patting his shoulder.

Lin Yu'an's body stiffened abruptly, then he slowly turned his head.

Under the sunlight, the figure he had longed for for who knows how long stood gracefully behind him.

Arya wore a thick down jacket, with his most familiar, bright smile like the Texas sun, her pale green eyes filled with tears and endless love.

“My dearest, I’ve come to take you home, my hero.”
