Chapter 76 Life Below Zero

Lin Yu'an nodded and pointed to the action camera on his chest, saying, "This one has been working the whole time. The fixed camera at the entrance should have captured most of it as well."

"However, there might have been some camera angles that weren't ideal when I was dealing with it in the woods."

Michelle was overjoyed! "It's alright, it's enough! As long as we have it, that's enough!"

She reported back to Mark: "Mark, he said he had two cameras filming! This precious footage has been preserved!"

At this moment, security chief David and doctor Anderson also came over.

David's face still showed undisguised shock. He patted Lin Yu'an on the shoulder to express his admiration.

Dr. Anderson examined Lin Yu'an carefully and confirmed that there were no injuries on her body that were of any concern.

He put away the medical equipment and exclaimed sincerely, "Lin, your physical condition far exceeds my expectations. You are in perfect health right now. Apart from lacking some vitamins, your blood test results show that you are even healthier than many people living in the city."

After Anderson finished speaking, he exchanged a glance with Michelle, who was standing next to him. They both saw a hint of relief and self-deprecation in each other's eyes.

If they were to actually follow through on their original plan and use health risks as a reason to dissuade this man, it would be the biggest joke and stain on their careers.

Just as Michelle was about to end the call and let her team return, her satellite phone rang again. It was the director, Mark Johnson.

Mark's voice sounded unusually serious, "Michelle, please give the phone to Lin. I'd like to speak with him in person."

Michelle paused for a moment, then handed the heavy satellite phone to Lin Yu'an and gestured for him to proceed.

Lin Yu'an answered the phone with some confusion, "Hello, is this Mr. Mark?"

“Lin, it’s me, Mark Johnson.”

The voice on the other end of the phone lacked the scrutiny and directorial authority it had during the online interview.

His tone was now filled with excitement, and a deep sense of apology.

"Well, first of all, Lin, please allow me, on behalf of the entire production team, to extend our sincerest congratulations to you! You have created a legend!"

"What you did today was not just killing a bear; you defended your own honor and the soul of the show 'Solo in the Wild'—that is, authenticity and limitless possibilities."

Lin Yu listened quietly without saying a word.

Mark was silent for a moment on the other end of the phone, seemingly organizing his thoughts, but ultimately decided to tell him the truth.

"Lin, I know this may be a bit presumptuous, but I must sincerely confess to you and apologize."

"Before your great achievement today, we made a very wrong decision due to the enormous public pressure of the 'script theory,' which I am now very ashamed of."

“Our original plan was for Michelle and the medical team to ‘advise’ you to withdraw from the competition, citing your health.”

"In order to make you accept this offer, we have even prepared a 'honorable withdrawal' compensation agreement worth half a million dollars."

When Lin Yu'an heard "five hundred thousand US dollars," his eyebrows twitched slightly, but his face remained expressionless.

Mark's voice was filled with remorse: "We mistakenly thought that letting you leave gracefully in this way was the best commercial option to quell public opinion, protect the show's reputation, and maintain the suspense of the competition."

"We underestimated your strength, and we underestimated your true power. For this, I personally offer my deepest apologies!"

"I'm glad that before Michelle and the others even had a chance to utter this stupid suggestion, you delivered a resounding slap in the face to all of us with the most impressive power."

"You have shown us that in the face of absolute strength and irrefutable truth, all public opinion is utterly insignificant."

"Lin, your actions have earned the admiration of me and the entire production team!"

Mark, on the other end of the phone, seemed to sense Lin Yu'an's calmness. Mark knew that a simple apology wasn't enough, so he changed the subject and extended a sincere olive branch.

"Lin, to express our apologies, and also because of the strong survival ability and creativity you have shown that far exceeded our expectations."

"I want to extend a special invitation to you, which has nothing to do with 'Living Alone in the Wilderness,' but is a brand new opportunity!"

“An old friend of mine is the producer of another very famous reality survival show, you should have heard of it—Life Below Zero.”

Lin Yu'an's heart skipped a beat. "Life Below Zero"? He had watched that program in his previous life.

That's not a competition, but a program that focuses more on long-term, authentic recording of the survival of individuals or families in polar environments.

Mark continued, "The main filming locations for 'Life Below Zero' were in and around the Arctic Circle in Alaska. They followed and filmed multiple groups of people living their real lives in those polar regions."

"In their plans for the next season, they are considering adding a new standalone character to show how an 'outsider' builds his home from scratch in the harsh, far north of Alaska."

“My friend asked me before if I had any suitable candidates who possess both strong survival skills and unique commercial value.”

"Before today, I didn't have a suitable candidate, but after learning of your amazing achievement of hunting a black bear, I have no doubt that you are the perfect candidate!"

"Your hands-on skills—your dedication to building sturdy shelters, your ability to find food, and your tool-making skills—are a perfect fit for the show 'Living Below Zero'."

"Lin, this is just a preliminary invitation. After you finish the challenge in 'Wilderness Solitude,' regardless of the final outcome, I will formally introduce you to them if you are interested."

"It will no longer be about a million-dollar extreme competition, but about truly putting down roots in Alaska."

"You will rely on your own survival strategies to build your own house, find ways to make money, solve all your life problems, and establish a permanent home in sub-zero Alaska!"

"Of course, it's a long-term job with good pay. You'll need to negotiate the specifics with the show's business team."

Mark's sudden invitation truly surprised Lin Yu'an.

He never imagined that his struggles and creations in this wilderness would open another door to the future for him.

Go to Alaska, go to the Arctic Circle, establish a real home... This idea certainly held considerable appeal for him.

"Thank you, Mr. Mark."

For the first time, Lin Yu'an's voice carried a slight tremor.

“I will seriously consider your suggestion, but for now, I just want to focus on the challenges at hand.”

Mark laughed on the other end of the phone, his voice becoming much more relaxed.

"I see."

"Then good luck, Lin. We're all looking forward to seeing what miracles you'll create next!"

After saying goodbye to Lin Yu-an, the crew returned to Wenming City by helicopter.

This time, Lin Yu'an was completely calm and felt no reluctance whatsoever.

He had only one thought in his mind: to deal with the bear as quickly as possible.
