Chapter 17 Being Followed? The Demon-Slaying Sword Demonstrates!
Throughout the journey, Hua Yu felt as if a pair of eyes were watching him. At first, he thought he was just being paranoid, given the large number of pedestrians on the road.

But in this relatively quiet city of Bo, it was clear that someone was watching him.

However, Hua Yu doesn't want to find out who that person is right now; he wants to see what this person is up to.

Hua Yu saw a quaint teahouse next to her, so she went in and sat down in a corner where no one was around.

Hua Yu's seat offered a good view of the teahouse entrance, making it convenient for him to gather information.

Just after Hua Yu entered the teahouse, a man dressed in a black robe silently followed behind him, intending to enter the teahouse as well.

But an invisible hand blocked the doorway, suddenly appearing behind him.

"What are you doing following my young master around like that, you filthy rat?"

A deep, calm voice came from behind the man in black robes.

The two then disappeared in front of the teahouse, and the passersby gasped in surprise as they watched them vanish into thin air.

Hua Yu's gaze swept around and he spotted a figure that was both familiar and unfamiliar.

He was dressed in what appeared to be expensive clothes, and his hairstyle looked meticulously styled; he was clearly a wealthy young master from a prominent family.

In the original novel, the only person who would appear on Bo City Street dressed like this is Mu Bai.

Beside him sat several other young people, each wearing the badge of the ancient capital's academy on their chest.

These people are still discussing the riots that occurred last night.

"Hey, you guys know what? What happened last night was really shocking."

"Especially a fire mage, who easily killed two commander-level White Ghost Ministers by himself."

“I know about this too. That fellow monk looks very young, not much older than us.”

"Oh, I'm so envious. When will I be able to have that?"

The group of college students chatting together were unaware that the monk they were praising was actually nearby.

Hua Yu listened to their conversation silently, and couldn't help but feel pleased as they praised him.

The fact that these students were able to obtain last night's information shows that Huayu's high-profile display of its strength last night was quite effective.

Even the students at the ancient capital's academy already know about what happened last night, so the aristocratic families in the ancient capital should also know about him.

"Hey, that's strange, why didn't that person who was following us come in? Am I just being paranoid?"

Hua Yu waited for a long time but no one came in. He drank the tea in his cup in one gulp, paid the bill, and then planned to leave the teahouse.

"Doesn't this person look like that fire mage from last night?"

Just as Hua Yu passed by their table, one of the students saw Hua Yu's face and felt that it looked familiar.

Suddenly, he thought of the fire mage from last night, and their faces overlapped.

So he excitedly patted the person next to him and pointed at Hua Yu's back.

How can you be so sure it's him?

“I was at the north city wall last night, although the battle was already nearing its end when I arrived.”

But I still saw that face, it was exactly the same as this man's.

However, while the boy was still reminiscing about last night, Hua Yu had already walked out of the teahouse.

On the desolate outskirts of the ancient capital, withered grass was blown about in all directions.

A middle-aged man, holding a black-clad cultist by the collar, descended upon the wilderness as if carrying a chicken to be slaughtered.

"What are your motives for following the young master, Black Vatican?" The middle-aged man's gaze was as cold as a frozen spring.

The black-clad cultist trembled under the middle-aged man's gaze, feeling as if he might suffocate at any moment.

"Hahaha, even if you kill me, I won't tell." "In the future, the Salanda people will send you to the Hell of Salvation, and you are destined to meet me in Hell."

The fear on the faces of the black-clad cultists was replaced by a touch of madness.

Suddenly, a curse-filled aura surged forth from behind the middle-aged man.

A cold wind blew towards him, and the cursed beast extended its sharp claws, viciously stabbing at him.

A silver light gleamed in the middle-aged man's eyes.

An invisible spatial force instantly crushed the cursed beast into pieces.

Seeing that their sneak attack was futile, the black-clad cult members tried to take this opportunity to break free from the middle-aged man's grasp and escape.

But a middle-aged man would never give him such an opportunity.

The middle-aged man raised his finger to the sky, and a star palace filled with light appeared on the horizon.

"Holy Decree - Demon-Slaying Sword"

A greatsword of light, radiating a sacred aura, appeared in the sky.

As the Demon-Slaying Sword appeared, the black-clad cultist stared in terror at the golden giant sword hurtling toward him.

He couldn't believe that this middle-aged man would use super-level magic just to deal with him, a mage who had only just reached the intermediate level.

The Demon-Slaying Sword swung down at the black-clad cultists, who were instantly annihilated in the light.

A huge crack appeared in the ground.

Several high-level mages stationed in the ancient capital military region also sensed the aura here.

"When did another super-level mage appear in the ancient capital?"

Gu Du Jun Si Yao Ting gazed at the Demon-Slaying Sword in the sky and murmured to himself.

Lu Xu walked out of the military camp and looked in the direction where the middle-aged man was.

He always felt that this suddenly appearing super-level mage had some kind of connection with Hua Yu.

In the office of the Ancient Capital Hunters Alliance, a middle-aged woman sensed an aura from afar.

"Is this a warning to me? Interesting."

This woman was none other than Ling Xi, an elder of the Hunter Alliance, who was actually Salang in disguise.

"It's almost here. So what if another super-level mage comes? You can't stop my plan in the end."

"And the ancient capital will be destroyed by my hands, hahaha!"

Salang said with a crazed expression.

After Hua Yu left the teahouse, someone blocked his way. This person was the middle-aged man who had killed the black-clad cultist earlier.

Hua Yu was somewhat surprised when he saw the middle-aged man.

"Uncle Zhang, what are you doing here?" Hua Yu asked curiously.

"Young Master, it was Master who sent me to protect you."

"The Black Vatican has its eyes on you. Please be more careful in the future."

Uncle Zhang spoke with a kind expression, showing none of his previous coldness.

"I knew someone had been following me, but then disappeared. It turns out it was you, Uncle Zhang, who took him away."

Hua Yu suddenly realized that, after all, with Uncle Zhang's strength as a senior super-level mage, it would be very easy for him to take someone away without being discovered.
