Under One Person: My Inner Realm Connects to All Worlds!

Chapter 46 With both principles and skills

Chapter 46 With both principles and skills
Han Yun slashed down with his longsword, and the three-zhang-long blade energy transformed into a white celestial dragon, mixed with a dragon's roar like the howling wind.

The blade's power was overwhelming and unmatched, giving one a sense of oppressive force that made all living beings equal under its blade.

Before the blade even arrived, the fierce wind had already carved several deep grooves into the ground.

Just as the sword and fist were about to collide, Sun Weiyue suddenly split into three, attacking Han Yun from three different directions.

This is precisely the unique skill of stance and body movement in Baguazhang, combined with the principles of Taiji Yin and Yang and the wondrous application of primordial Qi, making it difficult to distinguish between reality and illusion.

It appears to be one person, but there are actually three.

Each wielded a different style of boxing: the fluid and graceful movements of Baguazhang, the ever-changing forms of Xingyiquan, and the yin-yang rotation of Taijiquan, all simultaneously meeting the fierce and powerful blade.

Han Yun's eyes flashed with a sharp light, and his sword momentum increased rather than decreased. In an instant, he slashed three times, each slash precisely aimed at Sun Weiyue's figure.

"Dang! Dang! Dang!"

Three metallic clangs rang out almost simultaneously. Sun Weiyue's three figures merged into one, and he staggered back seven steps before regaining his footing. His face was slightly pale, and a bloody gash appeared on his right fist.

Han Yun sheathed his sword and stood there, the white light on the blade gradually fading: "Patriarch Sun, you flatter me."

Sun Weiyue took a deep breath, suppressing the surging blood in his chest, and said with a wry smile, "Thank you for holding back. Brother Han has indeed received the true teachings of Senior Wang Wu. This strike has reached the pinnacle of skill. I, Sun, am willing to admit defeat."

The Sun family members watching were in an uproar; they had never seen their patriarch lose in a sparring match.

After dismissing everyone, Sun Weiyue pondered for a moment, then suddenly grabbed Han Yun: "Come on, I'll take you somewhere."

He led Han Yun to a secluded ancestral hall in the backyard and pushed open the door. Hanging in the center of the hall was a portrait of a gaunt old man standing with his hands behind his back; it was none other than Sun Lutang, the Martial Saint.

Sun Weiyue respectfully offered incense, then took out a yellowed manuscript from under the altar.

"This is 'The True Meaning of Boxing,' written by my late grandfather in his later years. It records his understanding of the path of cultivation. Brother Han, with your cultivation, you should be able to comprehend its mysteries. However, this book must not be taken out of the Sun family, nor should it be copied. I hope you understand."

Han Yun solemnly accepted it, and saw on the title page that it read: "No fist, no intention, true intention lies in the unintentional."

"Qi is the mechanism of life and vitality. Whether intentional or unintentional, it is all due to the movement of the heart; boxing is an extension of skills, as is weaponry. It is an extension of fists and feet, and can be regarded as a superficial appearance."

"When the heart moves, the will moves; when the will moves, the Qi moves; when the Qi moves, power is generated. The initial movement is with the formless essence, and the final movement is with the tangible essence. The three cycles give birth to all things. This is the profound mystery of the Dao. This is the essence of boxing and the true meaning of martial arts."

"When the three elements combine, they return from the two polarities to the Taiji, and from the Taiji they return to the original face of the primordial void. This is called the ultimate truth."

"The ultimate truth, still and unmoving, is emptiness; yet, responding to all stimuli, it becomes wondrous existence. Radiant and perfectly pure, its transformations are unfathomable; Taoism generally calls it Truth, while Confucianism refers to it as Divine..."

This book, "The True Meaning of Boxing," integrates the teachings of the three religions and a hundred schools of thought, making it complex and diverse. When Han Yun read it to the end, he gained a glimpse of the whole picture and finally understood the realm that Grandmaster Sun Lutang had reached.

In the cultivation of sexual energy, one sees and hears nothing, senses danger and avoids it, achieving ultimate freedom; in the cultivation of life energy, one locks the entire body, ensuring that qi and blood are completely unleashed; in the cultivation of primordial qi, one can control qi at will, readily grasping all phenomena, ultimately reaching the state of "emptiness".

No matter what kind of attack it is, it is neutralized before my eyes. I am untouched by dust and impervious to all spells. Within three feet of me lies a world of power, a world within reach.

Han Yun guessed that if one cultivated to such a level, one could probably hold one's own against the contemporary Celestial Master of that time!
I estimate he can withstand a few hits of the Five Thunderbolts.

Celestial Master: Yes, that's right. No matter how talented you are, you're just the threshold to seeing me.

Han Yun read it carefully, feeling that every word was precious, as if a mysterious power was penetrating the pages and reaching his heart. He couldn't help but close his eyes and concentrate, and the innate Qi within his body flowed accordingly, subtly resonating with what was described in the book. Seeing this, Sun Weiyue said softly, "Brother Han is indeed exceptionally talented, able to grasp the essence of it in an instant."

“Our ancestors once said that this book can only be understood by those who are destined, have reached the highest level, and seek the Dao. The descendants of the Sun family should not keep it to themselves, but pass it on to those who share the Dao. Today, it seems that Brother Han is such a person.”

Han Yun opened his eyes, marveling at Senior Sun Lutang's magnanimity, and solemnly clasped his hands in greeting: "Patriarch Sun's generous gift is deeply appreciated. I am truly unworthy of such cultivation advice."

Sun Weiyue waved his hand and laughed, "In the path of martial arts, those who have mastered it come first. Brother Han has already achieved such skill at such a young age; his future achievements are limitless."

Han Yun pondered for a moment, then suddenly said, "Patriarch Sun, I think the contents of this 'True Explanation of Fist Intent' have something in common with the Taoist state of 'Refining the Spirit and Returning to Emptiness'."

"I wonder if the esteemed Mr. Sun Lutang ever mentioned any higher-level insights in his later years?"

Sun Weiyue's expression turned solemn, and he said in a low voice, "Brother Han is indeed insightful. Our ancestor did say in his later years that the ultimate martial art is to be in harmony with emptiness."

"Seven days before his death, he sat alone in the courtyard, neither eating nor drinking, yet his aura grew increasingly ethereal. On his last day, he uttered only the words 'So that's how it is,' and then passed away with a smile."

As Han Yun listened to what Sun Weiyue said, he felt that it was somewhat similar to the final state of the Great Ying Immortal Zuo Ruotong.
Did they all realize something?
Han Yun's heart skipped a beat, and he vaguely caught a glimpse of inspiration, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

"Master Sun, I have a favor to ask."

"But it doesn't matter."

"I would like to retreat here for three days to study this book. Would that be convenient?"

Because this book could not be copied or taken out, Han Yun could only study it at the Sun family's residence.

Sun Weiyue readily agreed: "I couldn't be happier! I'll immediately order someone to prepare a quiet room."

Three days later, when Han Yun stepped out of the meditation room, his entire demeanor had changed. His eyes were now more subdued, and his every move was natural and effortless, as if he had become one with his surroundings.

Sun Weiyue exclaimed in surprise, "Brother Han, this is..."

Han Yun smiled slightly: "I have gained some insights. Patriarch Sun, I should take my leave now."

"What are your plans next, Brother Han?"

Han Yun gazed into the distance, his eyes filled with a sense of profound contemplation: "Read ten thousand books and travel ten thousand miles. The path has no end, and neither does the road. I want to continue on the path I have chosen."

Even with the Baopu Danfa and Quanyi Shuzhen, Han Yun still did not forget his original intention and the art of a hundred schools.

The Baopu Danfa (抱朴丹法) gave him a fundamental understanding of life, while the Quanyi Shuzhen (拳意述真) provided a profound and insightful perspective, allowing him to directly grasp the essence of techniques. However, there are so many different schools of thought; it would be a real pity if he couldn't experience them all.

Moreover, what belongs to others will always remain theirs, not your own. If you truly want to transcend the ordinary and achieve sainthood, you must forge your own path to enlightenment.

That's how cultivation works; the more you cultivate, the more absorbed you become.

Those who possess both the principles and the skills to achieve fulfillment in their lives are willing to sacrifice everything, even if it means failing at the last minute or being shattered to pieces.

Unwavering in one's original intention—that is the true path!
