At the same time, Ge Hong's Daoist alchemy also emphasizes the unity of internal and external, with both external and internal alchemy practiced simultaneously. However, the true Daoist alchemy lies not in external practice, but in internal cultivation. External alchemy uses external objects to understand principles, while internal alchemy is the true practice and refinement.

The *Huang Ting Jing* states: "The unity of mind and spirit refines the true person." This unity of mind and spirit is the Great Dao of the Golden Elixir. It is not about refining the elixir in a furnace, but about refining oneself within the heart.

The *Cantongqi* also states: "When water and fire are in harmony, spirit and energy unite in truth." Water and fire are not physical substances, but rather mental principles. The mutual balance of water and fire, the harmony of yin and yang, is the true Dao of alchemy.

Lao Tzu said: The Tao is in excrement and urine.

Zhuangzi said: The Dao is in the ant.

The Tao is everywhere; the key is how you perceive it.

To attain immortality, one must keep silent and refrain from seeking herbs, trees, or cinnabar.

The true essence of Ge Hong's Daoist alchemy lies not in the furnace fire, but in the fire of the heart; not in the medicine, but in the methods; not in external appearances, but in internal realization.

The so-called "heart fire" is the furnace fire for self-cultivation.

The fire in the human body has three aspects: the heart is the sovereign fire, also known as the divine fire, and is called the upper aspect; the kidneys are the minister fire, also known as the essence fire, and are called the middle aspect; the bladder, which is the sea of ​​qi below the navel, is the people's fire, and is called the lower aspect.

Using the fire of the heart as fuel and the dantian as the furnace to refine the elixir as the foundation of the inner elixir, and then continuously refining it with the water and fire of life and nature, this is the true Ge Hong Dao of alchemy.

Those who lack a firm will find it difficult to control their inner fire. For example, Zhuge Qing in the original novel of Under One Person, if he were to be distracted by external things like the Eight Extraordinary Techniques, how could he have cultivated his own Samadhi True Fire?

Naturally, those with weak minds are not worthy of seeing the Great Dao Elixir Realm.

It is said that Taoist sects are strict in accepting disciples, but if they are not strict, those who presumptuously accept the Dao of alchemy will eventually end up suffering from qi deviation.

Then, let's talk about Erdan. What is Erdan?
The Yellow Emperor's Nine Cauldrons Divine Elixir Classic records nine kinds of divine elixirs, one of which is the Erdan (貫丹). The true lineage passed down by the patriarch Ge Hong is the method of Erdan.

The word "bait" refers to a medicinal bait.

It is also a medicinal guide.

The catalyst for cultivating Ge Hong's Dao of Alchemy is the golden elixir within the alchemy furnace. It has been nurtured for over 1,700 years within the furnace, specifically in the "lower dantian" section, through the Five Elements formation of Qingxu Mountain. It is a true treasure of nature.
