Chapter 16, I'll call you Raiji.
"Captain, it's fate that we were able to form a demon-hunting team. How about you treat everyone to a good meal today?" Lu Xi said with a smile.

(Why am I paying?)

Yuehui was puzzled, but seeing the expectant looks in everyone's eyes, and even Cai'er nodding slightly, she smiled calmly: "I can treat you, but don't call me 'leader,' just call me by my name."

"Yay! (^-^)V! Someone's treating us on the first day, that's awesome!" Chen Ying'er clapped her hands happily.

“I have no objection.” Wang Yuanyuan nodded readily.

Long Haochen smiled gently: "I agree."

In front of the most luxurious "Glorious Pavilion" in the holy city, eight welcoming girls dressed in light gold dresses stood on both sides.

Led by a waiter, the six people arrived at a luxurious private room facing the street.

After ordering, the six people sat around the round table, and the atmosphere became slightly awkward.

Although they had faced each other in the qualifiers, they were not familiar with each other.

As the oldest member of the team, Lu Xi took the initiative to break the silence: "Since we will be fighting side by side in the future, why don't we all introduce our abilities? That way, Captain Moonshine can better arrange tactics."

He paused deliberately on the form of address, and seeing that Yuehui did not object, he continued:

"I'll go first. Lu Xi, 24 years old, fifth-tier third-level bishop, the only contestant in this year's Priest Temple to reach the fifth tier."

By the end, his tone was filled with undisguised pride.

The pride on Lu Xi's face hadn't faded before it was shattered by the subsequent self-introduction.

“My name is Yuehui, and I believe everyone has heard of me,” Yuehui said calmly. “Fifteen years old, a sixth-tier first-level archmage.”

Apart from Cai'er, the other four widened their eyes simultaneously. They had originally thought that this unfathomable captain was at least the same age as Lu Xi, but they never expected him to be a fifteen-year-old boy.

“Oh, to add something,” Yuehui said as if she suddenly remembered something, tapping her fingertips lightly on the table, “I have an innate spiritual power of ninety.”

He hadn't originally planned to say this, but looking at the four chosen ones in the group, he felt that it might motivate Lu Xi to work even harder.

Cai'er then spoke, her cool voice carrying a rare gentleness: "Cai'er, fourteen years old, a fifth-tier level three assassin," she paused, "with an innate spiritual power of ninety-three."

Lu Xi's hand holding the teacup trembled slightly.

“Long Haochen,” the boy smiled gently, “fourteen years old, a fifth-tier level one Earth Knight.” He added somewhat embarrassedly, “He cultivates both punishment and protection, and has an innate inner spiritual power of ninety-seven.”

"Chen Ying'er!" The petite girl eagerly raised her hand. "A fourth-tier, level eight Grand Summoner!" She proudly puffed out her chest. "Ninety-two innate spiritual power!"

(ps: Chen Ying'er was originally supposed to have an unknown amount of spiritual power and be a Chaos Body, but I forgot about that before. Since it's just a minor timeline bug and the setting is correct, I won't change it.)
"You're also a chosen one of the gods?" Lu Xi looked at the seemingly harmless girl in disbelief.

"Of course!" Chen Ying'er waved her pink fist. "Although the summoning is still unstable, once I reach the seventh rank, I will be able to instantly cast all summoning spells below the seventh rank at will! That's what my grandfather said himself!"

Wang Yuanyuan crossed her arms and stated crisply, "Wang Yuanyuan, a fifth-tier, first-level Space-type Battle Venerable. Descendant of the Giant Spirit God."

She deliberately ignored her innate spiritual power—in front of the four chosen ones, her innate spiritual power was really insignificant.

After the last teammate finished being introduced, Lu Xi slowly leaned back in his chair.

He was acutely aware that he might really be the weakest one on the team.

“Lu Xi, it’s fate that we can form a team together.” Yuehui looked at Lu Xi and said in a steady tone, “Don’t feel burdened. You are the most suitable priest for this team.”

Lu Xi nodded, looking slightly bewildered.

Yuehui turned to Chen Ying'er, her voice becoming more serious: "Ying'er—I'll call you that from now on. As a chosen one with an innate spiritual power of ninety-two, your current cultivation level of fourth rank, eighth grade is indeed too low. You need to work harder."

Upon hearing this, Chen Ying'er pouted her pink lips and nodded reluctantly. The four chosen ones were all around the same age; whoever had the lower cultivation level would be embarrassed.

Now she's the one in an awkward situation.

(I'll go ask Grandpa for some cultivation resources!)

Chen Ying'er secretly made up her mind. "By the way, Commander Yuehui, there's something I need to tell you," Long Haochen suddenly said.

"What is it?" Yuehui asked.

"Well... I have a squire knight who is also a fifth-tier guardian knight. Could you let him join the Demon Hunter Group?" Long Haochen scratched his head a little embarrassedly.

“Of course,” Yuehui said with a smile.

……

Three days passed in the blink of an eye.

During this time, Moonbeam and her teammates quickly got to know each other and completed the registration procedures for the Demon Hunter Team together.

The Demon Hunter Guild itself is also divided into levels. The higher the level, the more difficult the missions that the Demon Hunter Guild can take on, and the richer the rewards will be.

The Demon Hunter Corps is divided into six levels from lowest to highest: Warrior, General, Commander, King, Emperor, and Title.

Each promotion comes with extremely stringent requirements.

Only after all requirements are met can a promotion be granted.

For example, to advance from the rank of soldier to the rank of general, all members of the team must first reach or exceed the fifth level of cultivation, each person must have more than one thousand merit points, and the team's total merit points must exceed ten thousand before they can advance.

The highest-ranking Demon Hunter Teams are those that have killed the top 36 of the 72 Demon Gods to be granted the title!
Three days later, Yuehui followed Li Zhengzhi to the Holy Alliance Treasure Pavilion deep within the Magic Temple.

In a secret chamber specially designed to store spirit furnaces, more than twenty spirit furnaces are quietly displayed.

The most striking feature is a spirit furnace that is kept separately—it is housed in a specially made glass cabinet.

Through the crystal-clear cabinet wall, you can clearly see a small girl, about the size of a palm, with transparent cicada wings on her back, lying comfortably on a small bed carved from lightning magic stone.

"This is the Thunder Elemental Furnace?" Moonlight's eyes lit up.

The little figure with purple hair and a purple dress that the spirit furnace conjured up was surprisingly well-matched with his own image and temperament.

"Xiao Hui, the elemental spirit furnace is different from the ordinary spirit furnace. It needs to be recognized by them to fuse, just like forming a contract."

Li Zhengzhi stroked his beard and explained, "So you need to communicate with it first. But with your talent, I believe this little guy won't refuse you."

Moonlight nodded and slowly walked towards the cabinet that emitted a faint purple light.

As he approached, the lightning elemental spirit in the cabinet seemed to sense something and lazily opened its eyes.

Those were a pair of crystal-clear, pale purple eyes, like the finest amethyst, staring at him intently.

"Hello," Moonlight said softly, as wisps of vibrant purple lightning slowly coalesced in her palm. "Would you like to leave this place with me?"

The lightning elemental spirit suddenly trembled violently as it sensed the lightning power within Moonlight that was of the same origin as itself but even purer.

Her amethyst-like eyes instantly welled up with tears, and she let out a soft, mournful sound—(Finally, finally someone has come to take me away from this cage!)

Yuehui smiled slightly and turned to nod at Li Zhengzhi.

The latter understood and immediately lifted the restriction on the worktable. With a soft "click," the cabinet slowly opened a crack.

call out--

A streak of purple light shot out impatiently, drawing a graceful arc in the air.

The lightning elemental sprite swirled merrily around the moonlight, finally nuzzling affectionately against his cheek, tiny sparks of lightning flashing at the point of contact, creating tiny specks of purple light.

He gazed at the jubilant elf and said gently, "From now on, you will be called Lei Ji."
