Deity Investigation Report

Chapter 82 Deviating from Reality

Chapter 82 Deviating from Reality
The moment the incantation was uttered, a wondrous feeling followed.

Han Su felt his body tremble slightly, but it wasn't a tremor in the sense of physical space; rather, it was a tremor in the sense of depth or shallowness of space.

If described in detail, one can understand the real space as a two-dimensional plane, on which everyone lives without ever deviating. However, the chanting of the incantation allows one to move a step into a deeper space.

Because of that one point gained, the person on this two-dimensional plane saw themselves as less significant.

It felt like I was a few millimeters away from reality.

Along with these slight deviations, his spiritual power also seeped out from his right hand, but it was very weak, consumed little, and had little impact.

"Ok?"

The woman in the red trench coat kept her hand on Han Su and Miss Crow to prevent them from losing control while chanting the incantation and to pull them back to reality at any time.

Although there aren't many cases, there are unfortunate souls who, upon first encountering cryptic incantations, completely lose control during their first recitation, losing all sense of self and seemingly entering some unknown dimension, and who haven't yet found their way back...

She clearly sensed Han Su's change and was slightly surprised, saying, "You were able to summon some mysterious power on your first recitation of the incantation. That's quite good."

"Better than her."

She glanced at Miss Crow beside her and said, "She didn't make a sound at all. She even had trouble opening her mouth to chant a spell. What a slacker."

Miss Crow next to her blushed deeply and drooped her head.

Han Su was somewhat helpless: 'Can't you please stop using such a suppressive style of education on your child...'

He perked up and asked, "So what should I do next?"

"practise."

The woman in the red trench coat looked at Han Su and said, "Practice it again and again until this incantation is engraved in your mind, until you are so proficient that you can recite the incantation even if it is just a single syllable."

Han Su nodded seriously.

But since the lady in the red trench coat had said so, he certainly couldn't compare himself to a slacker like Crow. So he calmed down and began practicing the spell over and over again.

At first he was very careful, worried that his mental power was too great and that the lady in the red trench coat would notice something was wrong, but he soon realized that he didn't seem to need to worry about this problem.

Unless one recites the incantation that the deity bestows, one's spiritual power will not only be immense, but will even appear quite mediocre.

Only the gap in his right hand would allow a tiny bit of spiritual power to seep in, helping him to complete the incantation. The vast and unparalleled spiritual power in his head was like a dead sea, completely still.

There was a strange feeling that, without reciting that incantation, I was just an ordinary person.

Even when faced with training in mysterious powers, they are still ordinary people, and they even need to work harder to earn the praise of the lady in the red trench coat.

Of course, one unusual thing is that the woman in the red trench coat seemed very worried about losing control during the spell practice, but Han Su really didn't feel that way. He couldn't even sense any risk from the spell, feeling as safe as if he were living in a safe.

After that, he stayed at the base and practiced diligently.

I've been practicing this spell for the past few days and have indeed felt some progress, but it's all at the skill level.

After a period of focused practice, he had become accustomed to feeling that mysterious power resonate with him after reciting incantations, and to feeling his own existence being drawn away from reality.

However, the degree of detachment is not enough. While it can eliminate one's presence to a certain extent, it is still easy for people to notice one's presence if one's eyes meet theirs directly.

When the woman in the red trench coat looked at him, she felt her mental energy was instantly depleted, leaving her with nowhere to hide.

"That's the characteristic of this spell."

The man in the red trench coat laughed and said, "By lowering your own presence, you won't provoke the other person's attention. The more distracted the target is, the easier it will be for you to withdraw."

"Then you need to avoid people with strong mental activity. Normally you only need to use a fraction of your mental energy to avoid them, but if you encounter someone with strong mental activity, your mental energy will be depleted to the limit in an instant, and they will be able to see you."

"There are some high-ranking people who can completely deplete your mental energy just by getting close to them. It's impossible to hide yourself from them."

"..."

Han Su accepted the current situation, but he was also thinking: what kind of changes would occur if he first recited the incantation that the gods had given, activating the enormous spiritual power in his mind, and then recited the incantation now?
However, being in the Disaster Management Bureau and under the watchful eye of the woman in the red trench coat, he naturally wouldn't risk trying it.

I spent just one week practicing diligently. In between sessions, with Miss Crow's help, I would get used to the mental penetration of my right hand and feel the state of my mental activity.

Including the other spells that the zero sequence presented to him, although he hadn't practiced them diligently, he had at least gained some understanding of them.

Overall, it was a very tedious and boring process. Han Su felt that his progress was too slow, like playing a game over and over again, but no matter how hard he tried, he could not achieve a perfect rating.

"Very good."

After practicing for quite some time, the woman in the red trench coat, seeing his tireless appearance, put aside her usual sarcasm and comforted him, saying, "You've almost compressed one to three months of training into just ten days."

"I've never seen anyone so eager for this life-saving spell." "It's clearly just the simplest and most basic spell; even with hard practice, it won't bring much improvement, yet you keep repeating it like this. Don't you ever get bored?"

"..."

Han Su was slightly taken aback, then shook his head and smiled, "No."

"I can."

The woman in the red trench coat said, "At first, I accompanied you during practice because I was afraid you would lose control and ruin yourself. Now it seems that the process is going smoothly and there are no signs of losing control, so I don't need to keep an eye on you here."

"Besides this training, I have another question for you."

"You really don't want that investigator's license left behind by your mentor, the Strange Bird Investigator?"

As she said this, her expression turned somewhat solemn. "The strange bird investigator is dead. According to custom, his license should be inherited by the assistant he trained."

“His other assistant was only rated B initially, which is not enough, but there are quite a few others eyeing this license. You didn’t even ask about the Ghost Truck thing. You’re not planning to hand over this opportunity to someone else, are you?”

"..."

Han Su frowned slightly upon hearing this: "It's not that we should kill them, but isn't this weirdo inherently difficult to deal with? We've gathered most of the Disaster Management Bureau's resources, and we still haven't been able to catch them."

"The pattern has long been figured out."

The man in the red trench coat shook his head and said, "That bizarre truck itself isn't actually that powerful, it's just hard to catch. So, someone with certain abilities is needed, someone willing to risk using themselves as bait, in order to possibly seal it away."

"What you're being tested now is whether you have the courage to take this risk."

"..."

Upon hearing this, Han Su glanced at Miss Crow. He understood the details of the ghost truck incident, as someone had been keeping an eye on things outside. When asked by the woman in the red trench coat, he pondered for a moment and replied:
"I'd be open to giving it a try once I'm ready, but let's talk about it in a couple of days!"

"After such a long period of training in the mysterious power, I've been so exhausted that I've forgotten everything. Now I need to go home and rest for a while."

The real reason, of course, could not be told to the woman in the red trench coat.

The flashing sound is coming.

……

……

Will the interval shorten again?

The intuitive warning in his heart compelled Han Su to keep practicing these zero-sequence incantations, and the invisible pressure had already reached his head.

According to Han Su's superposition theory, he was originally expected to be kidnapped and taken back around July 11th. However, Han Su could only roughly estimate the date, and there was still a variable in between: whether the "interval" would be shortened again.

If the time is shortened, then the flickering will occur earlier.

It was precisely because of this worry that he chose to return early, awaiting the kidnapping.

An investigator's license is certainly important, but I can't just use myself as bait to solve the problem as the Disaster Management Bureau thinks. Besides, I need to escape this time before I can have a future.

"The little guy is quite composed..."

The woman in the red trench coat looked at Han Su, who seemed to be deep in thought. She didn't know what he was thinking, but she thought that this young man was not bad. Even though he knew that his competitors had already started to take action, he still managed to give her enough time to observe.

After praising her, he turned to look at Miss Crow and shook his head helplessly: "That one is more composed..."

After practicing for so long, all I can manage is a slight tremor in my body...

She couldn't bear to watch any longer, so she shook her head, walked out of the training room, took out her phone, dialed a number, and said calmly, "He's left the base."

"After this period of training, I can confirm that he is a very talented person, but I have not found anything unusual about him."

"Apart from……"

"...His will to survive is exceptionally strong!"

"..."

After she finished speaking, she waited for a long time and heard some sounds from the other end of the phone before nodding and saying, "I will continue to keep an eye on him and have also tried to start a conversation, but he is unwilling to discuss the ghost truck with me."

"Perhaps, he has really given up."
