Chapter 28 Bronze Corridor
Chapter 28 Bronze Corridor
"The opportunity has come!"
Dust, noise, overturned toys, and scattered papers filled the room, which was filled with strange sounds.
The pale giant outside the door slammed open the door and impatiently squeezed his bulky body into the room. He didn't even have time to look closely; he was just eager to go deeper into the room to see the screaming dolls.
He has poor eyesight, but he is very sensitive to the reactions of the dolls.
But just as it rushed in, Han Su darted out from behind it.
The door, torn in half by the monster's violent push, could no longer be closed. Taking advantage of this opportunity, he quickly approached the monster, grabbed at its waist, and shouted:
"go!"
He had just explained the route to Manman: go around to the left, while he would try his best to lure the monster to the right, giving her as much space as possible to escape to the door.
She should be able to cover a distance of about ten meters, right?
Although the girl is young, she has always been very sensible and well-behaved.
Even if she doesn't understand what I tell her, she always manages to complete it very well...
But just as Han Su was shouting and grabbing at the monster's belt, even preparing to pounce to the right, he suddenly paused.
Upon entering the bunker, he had observed that the brass key was tied to the pale monster's waist. This was the reason he decided to escape on the first night; having the key on its body made it the easiest thing to get his hands on.
But now, when he looked over, he found that the monster's waist was empty, there was no key, nothing at all.
Just a few hours ago, this key was hanging properly on the pale monster's waist.
"Damn it!"
Han Su was stunned for a moment. Was it that damned mysterious will that was playing tricks on him, or was it because of some kind of pattern that the key had been transferred to other monsters during this time?
"Hold!"
Han Su only had time to curse once before he pushed off the ground and nimbly dashed out of the room.
Behind them, the pale monster had also spotted Han Su, which angered it. It turned around with difficulty, trying to grab Han Su, but Li Manman behind her, remembering Han Su's instructions, stood on tiptoe even harder and pointed the mirror at another doll.
Then, the second doll also broke down, despairing and screaming.
The sound made the pale monster hesitate for a moment, but it turned around and walked towards the glass cabinet. Amid the doll's desperate cries, the huge figure gradually obscured the terrified Li Manman.
She stared blankly at the door; the older brother had said he would take her out.
But it seems he has already left...
Before her stood a massive and ferocious pale giant. Beside her, inside a glass case, two broken plastic dolls were desperately pounding on the glass, cursing the pale giant and Li Manman, who had shown them their likeness.
Li Manman, who had just mustered up the courage to help Han Su with these things, finally felt fear again, slowly hugged her knees, and squatted down.
"She will be punished..."
Meanwhile, Han Su, who had escaped the room, was experiencing an uncontrollable heartbeat.
He hadn't expected the key to be moved so quickly, and all his plans fell through.
She has enraged the two dolls in the glass case, and also the pale monster. What will she do next?
But just as this feeling of guilt was about to rise from the depths of his heart, he clenched his teeth and forcefully banished all these useless emotions from his mind:
"There will be opportunities, there will always be opportunities..."
"..."
"..."
"Fifth floor!"
He used all his strength to run to the end of the corridor, jumped up the stairs, and rushed to the floor above.
He remembered this pattern.
After Xu Ji was rescued, the key appeared, but every time he returned, the key was on a different monster. However, it usually stayed with the same monster it was on and never changed.
Why did things suddenly change this time?
Is it because I didn't come back at the normal interval this time?
Han Su didn't care to think about these things. He just remembered the pattern of when he saw the key before and guessed that the key should be on the first floor.
The transfer of the key was the same as before. This time it was on the withered housekeeper on the first floor, the next time it would appear on the mysterious horned lady, and the time after that it would appear on the crazy and strange half-woman on the third floor.
Based on this, the key is most likely on the fifth floor.
He wasn't sure, and even if it was there, he hadn't figured out how to take it. But he had no other choice but to go up to the fifth floor first.
The fifth floor was a place Han Su had never been to before, and the monster on the fifth floor had never come down either.
But Han Su didn't have time to think about what was there. He quickly scrambled up the thirteen steps and reached the corner of the stairs. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw that the pale monster had caught up with him. Watching Han Su's figure, the monster turned the corner and stepped onto the fifth-floor corridor, letting out an angry and disappointed roar as it slammed its fist heavily against the wall beside it.
The moment Han Su rushed into the corridor, he quickly looked at both sides of the fifth floor, only to find an eerie silence.
It was quiet here; there were no wandering monsters, and not even a trace of any living creature!
So, where is the key?
Han Su pressed his chest, suppressing his pounding heart, slowed his pace, and walked forward little by little on the thick, damp carpet.
Meanwhile, from the fourth floor, faint roars could still be heard. The pale giant on the fourth floor was furious. Unable to rush up to the fifth floor, it was pounding on something, and the huge noise seemed to shake the entire castle.
A pungent, putrid smell of dust filled the air, and cracks appeared in the walls on either side.
Deep within the crevice, something appeared, shooting straight outwards.
In a tense moment, Han Su scanned the scene warily, finally making out the shapes of the objects: bronze statues.
They wore strange and fine armor, each with a long, slender neck covered in scales, a flat and sinister head, and eyes set in the sides that shimmered with a dim red light.
Those were clearly bronze statues.
In particular, the bronze statues looked so strange that it seemed as if the armor was not worn by humans, but by monsters with snake heads and human bodies.
They were embedded in the walls on both sides of the corridor, and at first glance, they seemed to be one with the walls. Now, with the shaking of the castle, they were slightly loosened, and one of them lurched out a little, blocking Han Su's way.
"What the hell?"
Unlike others who would immediately jump away or have other stress reactions after being frightened, Han Su stood still, staring intently at the bronze armor, confirming that it was an inanimate object.
Only then did he slowly circle around him, little by little, until he was out of his way.
My gaze swept across both sides, where rows of bronze doors were embedded in the walls, appearing incredibly sturdy.
Beside each door stood a bronze statue, its outstretched arm gripping the door, as if it were some kind of ancient yet sophisticated mechanical creation.
Han Su had no interest in appreciating this mysterious technology. He simply walked slowly towards the few light and shadows cast into the corridor, his heart gradually rising to his throat.
Arriving before the light and shadow, he saw a room with a half-open door. He held his breath and peered inside.
The room was decorated as luxuriously as an ancient palace, but everything looked unusually old.
However, in the very center of the room, there was a coffin.
Two huge white candles burned quietly beside the coffin.
By the light of the candle, Han Su's gaze sharpened, and he saw the brass key hanging next to the coffin.
"found it!"
Han Su's heart skipped a beat. He steeled himself, tiptoed, and entered the room.
He silently surveyed the room, but saw no other living creatures. The only thing in the room was the black coffin, covered with intricate and eerie copper-inlaid patterns.
He continued to approach, each step feeling like a gamble with his life, but Han Su slowly made his way to the coffin.
Slowly, he took the key that was hanging next to the coffin into his hand.
Nothing happened.
Thank you...
Han Su thought to himself and backed away from the room. Unexpectedly, at that moment, the coffin lid suddenly opened a crack, and a pale and withered hand grabbed his left hand.
The cold, hard touch, like cast iron, made Han Su's left hand feel as if it were instantly imprisoned in a pair of pliers.
A chilling aura spread throughout his body, making him feel as if he were frozen solid, unable to move at all.
The withered palm slowly rotated, as if caressing something.
The thumbnail, with its eerie bronze sheen, slowly brushed against the back of Han Su's hand, invisibly cutting a wound on the back of his left hand, from which blood immediately flowed.
As the blood flowed out, Han Su suddenly relaxed slightly, and his body, which had been frozen in place, seemed to gain a moment of freedom.
"Mother Ganlin..."
Han Su felt a chill run down his spine and cursed under his breath.
Taking advantage of this fleeting opportunity, he bit the key with his teeth, then suddenly raised the weapon given to him by the grumpy kid in his right hand and slashed it down hard at his left wrist.
