Chapter 112 Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears
Song Xi wore a white lab coat, her long, silky hair casually tied into a low ponytail, a few stray strands falling beside her ears, making her skin appear even paler. She put down her coffee cup, her voice calm yet undeniably authoritative:
"The patent lawsuit continues, and the lawyers will sue Qiao's and Fu Wenxin for defamation. I will attend the meeting later on behalf of the general manager. Zhongrui and Huasong will not terminate their contracts. As for other companies: those who want to leave, don't stay."
My phone vibrated; it was an incoming call from Uncle Liao.
Song Xi glanced at it and continued to Cheng Nian: "The public relations department should compile a summary of medical disputes from the past six months and report back tomorrow morning."
Cheng Nian quickly jotted down the key points, the pen scratching softly on the paper.
Song Xi took off her lab coat and hung it up, then gently ran her fingertips across the lab bench to confirm that the equipment was off.
She looked up: "I'll call President Shang."
"Understood." Cheng Nian nodded and turned to leave.
As Song Xi stepped out of the research and development building, she paused.
Outside the company gate, the reporters who had swarmed around had vanished, leaving only security guards standing like statues. A black Mercedes silently pulled up in front of them, and Uncle Liao got out, respectfully opening the back door: "Miss."
Inside the car, Song Xi leaned back in her seat, took the documents from Uncle Liao, and flipped through the pages with her fingertips, her eyes cold and indifferent.
Xu Yi's parents did indeed divorce.
Her phone kept popping up with messages, a flood of well-wishes from friends. She was popular, but she had also been betrayed before.
Some people won't abandon you when disaster strikes, but when it comes to sharing good fortune, they'll kick you out without hesitation.
Qin Fanghao called, her voice filled with concern: "President Xi, how are you? Are you alright?"
"What could possibly happen?" Song Xi chuckled, her fingertips swiping across the screen as she browsed the school's official website and the official statement from the case investigation team. The comment section was rife with hostility, and the netizens' clamor surged like a tidal wave.
Moscow doesn't believe in tears, and netizens don't believe in evidence.
"They don't believe the official statement, but instead believe a crying 'poor father'?" Qin Fanghao said indignantly. "Why don't I record a crying video too? I guarantee I'll cry my eyes out and be more moving than his."
Song Xi smiled slightly: "You are a public figure. If you post this kind of video, people will only say that you are inciting cyberbullying."
Qin Fanghao sighed: "That idiot Meng Weixian kept asking me about the situation. I told him I could definitely handle it, and even if something unexpected happened, with your brother there, you would definitely be safe. But he wouldn't believe me and kept yelling that he wanted to come back and 'break him out of prison.' Do you think he's lost his mind?"
"Maybe." Song Xi's smile deepened. "Just let him prepare my birthday party properly."
After hanging up the phone, she continued flipping through the documents until her phone vibrated again.
This time it's Fu Wenxin.
"President Xi, you have some really powerful connections." Fu Wenxin's voice was laced with sarcasm. "You were able to get the authorities to speak for you so quickly and clear out the entire internet."
"Come to think of it, this is the second time you've betrayed me," Song Xi said calmly. "Pretty impressive. I hope you'll have a third chance."
Fu Wenxin was Song Xi's first close friend after arriving in the United States. Due to sleep deprivation and mental instability, Song Xi once told Fu Wenxin some information about the laboratory explosion.
Unexpectedly, Fu Wenxin followed the clues and found Xu Yi's father.
"Of course," Fu Wenxin chuckled. "I'll give you a big gift right away."
Five minutes later, Morningside Biotech once again topped the trending searches.
According to sources, Morningside Ventures once had four partners, but Song ousted Cai and Fu for personal gain. Interestingly, Cai died under mysterious circumstances just a week before Song returned to China!

Song Xi rested her chin on her hand as she browsed the news, her eyes calm and composed.
The imagination is good, but it's been used in the wrong place.
The Mercedes stopped in front of the high-end hotel. Uncle Liao handed the car keys to the doorman and followed Song Xi like a bodyguard.
"You keep claiming you're seeking justice for your son, yet you're already penniless, staying in a hotel that costs three thousand a night." Song Xi chuckled. "Looks like construction work is quite lucrative. Maybe I should give it a try?"
Uncle Liao: "..."
At this moment, the young lady's smile was like the calm before a storm. After exiting the elevator, Song Xi and Uncle Liao went straight to room 1901, where she politely raised her hand to press the doorbell.
The doorbell rang for the fifth time before the person inside finally opened the door, grumbling, "Who is it? Don't you know I'm sleeping?! You disturbed my sleep, are you going to pay for it?!"
Mr. Xu was wearing a hotel bathrobe. The door had just opened, and before he could even take a closer look, a sharp force suddenly attacked his abdomen.
Without saying a word, Song Xi raised her long leg and kicked. The high heels were powerful, and Xu's father staggered and fell to the ground.
"Ouch! That hurts so much, you son of a bitch!" Xu's father cursed as he stood up, only to be kicked to the ground again by Song Xi.
Uncle Liao closed the door silently, as if he were merely observing a scene he had already foreseen.
"Who the hell is your father?!" Mr. Xu clutched his stomach, his face contorted in rage. "Do you believe I'll call the police?!"
"Call the police?" Song Xi hefted the glass, her smile icy. "Uncle Liao, help him."
Uncle Liao dialed the phone and said in a few words: "The police will be here soon."
Xu's father's expression changed drastically.
He thought he could scare them, but they were so arrogant that he actually helped him call the police!
After being kicked a few times, he retreated tremblingly, asking, "Who are you people?!"
"Didn't you want to find the murderer?" Song Xi leaned down, her peach blossom eyes flashing eerily. "Now that I'm here, why are you scared?"
“You, you…” Xu’s father’s pupils contracted and his Adam’s apple bobbed.
"Back then, you and Xu Yi's mother knelt on the ground begging us not to reveal the truth about the bombing. We felt sorry for you because you had just lost your son, so we had the school give you a condolence payment." Song Xi tapped the rim of her cup lightly with her fingertips. "Now you're turning the tables?"
She crouched down, her face slightly pale, but her peach blossom eyes were unusually bright: "The murderer's father was a liar."
"Bullshit!" Mr. Xu cried hysterically. "You seduced my son! You killed him!"
"Oh?" Song Xi raised an eyebrow. "I asked him to drug me and then detonate the lab so we could commit suicide together?"
"Right, that is it!"
Logically speaking, Song Xi wouldn't personally get involved in Xu Yi's matter, because it wasn't worth it. But they insisted on dragging her brother into it; after all, the person behind her was her brother.
Song Xi sneered.
Xu Yi's unrequited love drove her to obsession, nearly causing her brother's death.
She didn't care, but they kept trying to smear her brother.
"Snapped!"
The glass shattered at her feet, shards flying everywhere. Mr. Xu shuddered, his crotch soaked with sweat.
Song Xi covered her nose in disgust and turned to search the room. Uncle Liao restrained Xu's father like an iron cage.
Half an hour later, the police arrived. Surprisingly, it was the second-in-command of the bureau.
Song Xi didn't think much of it, assuming it was just a coincidence. After Xu's father was taken away, she and Uncle Liao headed for the elevator.
"Ding--"
The stairwell door opened.
Song Xi looked up and was suddenly met with a pair of familiar, unfathomable black eyes.
