Eyes that are the same as those of evil

Chapter 269 Extra 5: If there hadn't been the case eleven years ago
Tan Jia did not go to Lin Zhiyue's ward to sleep.
But she knew his name.
Someone brought a suitcase left at the accident scene, with a name card on it. Before the suitcase was pushed in front of the person involved, Tan Jia held down the handle.
Then he took the card, looked at it, and read it out word by word: "Lin, Zhi, Yue".
Lin Zhiyue had a very strange feeling.
She didn't look up or make eye contact when she read those three words, and her tone was normal, but he felt very strange. It was like mineral water that had just fallen from the spout into a glass, without any flavoring or soda stimulation, but the water wasn't completely calm yet, and it had a temperature that didn't match his mouth.
This untimely metaphor is also quite strange.
Lin Zhiyue wanted to take the suitcase back, but his hand, which was on the handle, was still wrapped in gauze. His fingertips twitched, but the suitcase remained hanging down by his trouser leg.
However, Tan Jia quickly put the card back, gave the suitcase a push, and the omnidirectional wheels rolled to his feet.
Lin Zhiyue thought that after she called out her name, she would say something else. Her dizzy brain subconsciously tried to think of a less rude answer, but she only said, "You continue to rest."
Then continue walking towards the end of the corridor.
It was as if his name had made her lose interest.
Is it that hard to hear? He stood there, his vision still a little blurry, staring at the figure's back.
When Lin Zhiyan came out of the ward, she saw him leaning against the wall and thought he was dying, so she quickly called for help.
She kept nagging him: "Why did you have to run out like that? I thought you were feeling fine, but I didn't expect you were so dazed from being hit by a car that you couldn't even tell you were walking on land. Let me tell you..."
Another batch of doctors and nurses arrived. Lin Zhiyan couldn't help with the pain, so she just kept talking to make her presence known, from the car accident scene to her savior, using a lot of adjectives to describe the person from head to toe.
He added regretfully at the end, "It's a pity I don't know her name yet. I want to get to know her, but I'm afraid she doesn't like being bothered. She doesn't seem to like talking to people."
The nausea and vomiting caused by dizziness were still lingering, and Lin Zhiyue vaguely remembered that he didn't know her name either.
To be honest, he knew nothing about her.
What's her name?
Are you from around here?
Where do you live?
Will we meet again in the future?
How can I contact her?
No one knew anything about it; it was as if she had just appeared suddenly, briefly met them on her way, and then continued on her way.
Lin Zhiyan was still rambling on, saying she didn't know if she could contact the other party again by asking the traffic police and the hospital, and it would be a pity to miss each other like this.
She also asked, "Don't you think so, brother?"
Lin Zhiyue didn't answer. After a while, her face turned pale, and she said, "Don't be afraid. I'm fine."
She talks incessantly when she's nervous or anxious; she's been like that since she was little.
Lin Zhiyan quieted down, and after a moment a very soft sob could be heard.
"...I didn't even have the strength to knock on the car window. I was so afraid you would die."
"It's not that easy to die."
"That's because you ran into that girl. You have no idea how formidable she is; when she opened the car door..."
Another long description followed.
Amidst the dense chatter, Lin Zhiyue's breathing became increasingly even.
The medicine is working.
...
Tan Jia finally returned to her aunt's house.
Relatives I've only met in videos, interacting with them feels like a dry, sluggish bearing turning; there's always a sense of awkwardness.
Fortunately, with the help of his cousin, who had experience in rescuing people together, they got along fairly well until they rested that night.
Lying on the unfamiliar bed, she thought she would have insomnia, but to her surprise, she slept very soundly. However, her dreams were bizarre and fantastical, and she woke up covered in sweat.
Looking outside, it was already the afternoon of the next day. Tan Ming was still at home. Seeing her come downstairs, he said, "Perfect timing, let's go to the hospital again to check on the two more serious wounds on your hands."
Seeing his serious expression, Tan Jia speculated: "Is there something wrong with that car accident?"
Tan Ming simply nodded, indicating that he could not reveal anything else.
She stopped imagining things and declined the suggestion to go to the hospital.
She wasn't the type of child who waited to be arranged for, and she was used to refusing. After expressing her thoughts, she didn't pay attention to Tan Ming's reaction, found something to eat, and went upstairs to sleep.
This trip back is actually to visit relatives and pay respects to our ancestors on behalf of my parents. I won't be staying long; I'll probably go back when the scabs on the back of her hand are almost healed.
So she spends most of her time wandering around outside, stopping and going, eating and shopping, and occasionally going with her aunt to a group of children to take a sculpting class—her classmates and friends knew she was going back to China and asked her to bring back local specialties, which is perfect.
Unfortunately, her skills weren't very good; two out of her three works were mistaken for different species.
Fortunately, she has very few friends who are worthy of her gifts, so her "three-out-of-one productivity" still has a surplus.
The late winter winds blew the clock, quickly pushing the time forward to a few days later.
Tan Jia had two serious wounds on her hands and needed to go to the hospital for a check-up. Tan Ming drove her there again.
Tan Ming has been so busy lately that his dark circles have multiplied endlessly. Even if his eyes are wide open like saucers, it's hard not to suspect that he might fall over on the steering wheel halfway through his drive.
So when they arrived at their destination, she told him to stay in the car and take a nap while she went to the hospital.
The lobby and waiting corridor of the city hospital were still packed with people. It is said that the orthopedics and dermatology departments here are famous throughout the country, so many people come here every day.
Fortunately, the doctor her aunt had booked for her was on the sixth floor, so he wasn't as busy.
The doctor's office door was closed. Following Tan Ming's instructions, she knocked three times, turned the handle, and went inside.
Before she could even utter her prepared words, she looked in surprise at the young man opposite the doctor.
Having shaken off the dizziness and weakness, Lin Zhiyue looked even more refined and handsome, his tall and slender figure accentuated by his black clothes.
When he looked over, his gaze paused for a moment.
But Tan Jia's gaze lingered on him for only a second or two before sweeping past him imperceptibly, looking at the doctor, saying sorry, and preparing to leave.
“I have finished asking the questions.” Lin Zhiyue stood up.
This sentence should have been followed by a form of address or a conversation using "you," but he paused for two seconds and then left the office without saying anything.
They were just strangers who had met twice. Countless people pass by each other every day in the world with only a fleeting encounter. They were just one of them.
Tan Jia didn't pay attention and cooperated with the doctor to check the wound on her hand. After it was re-bandaged and confirmed that there was no problem, she didn't stay any longer and left the office.
Then I saw Lin Zhiyue.
He was sitting in the chair where she had slept last time. He heard the door open and close and turned to look at her.
As Tan Jia approached, he observed the man and noticed that his gaze almost followed him.
This is a very clear signal that they want to have a conversation.
So she walked closer and asked, "Were you waiting for me?"
Lin Zhiyue nodded, stood up, and the two of them stood closer together, facing each other.
"What do you want to say?" she gestured for him to speak freely.
She guessed it was probably because she wanted to express her gratitude for saving him in the car accident, and that was the only readily available topic of conversation.
But Lin Zhiyue said, "I don't know your name yet."
Tan Jia raised an eyebrow, her gaze becoming thoughtful.
After a while, she said, "Tan Jia."
Say a single word, take a slow step closer, and the green wolf tail is gently blown by a breeze from who-knows-where, almost scratching Lin Zhiyue's arm.
"My name is Tan Jia. Haven't you been able to find my name these past few days?"
Another timeline begins here, the story of Tan Jia begins here, and the story of Jia and Xiao Lin also begins here.
Is there anything else you'd like to see? There's only one last bonus chapter left; otherwise, it will officially end tomorrow. (The little skits where the main characters from each book play together aren't here.)
