Chapter 37 Caught
Qiao Xixi showed them the refined salt crystals.

Hongxi had eaten salt before; he had bought it from a traveling merchant, which cost him quite a few animal hides.

They never expected that there would be something readily available on the back mountain, but they didn't know it.

Hongxi's gaze toward Qiao Xixi now held a burning intensity.

"I will tell Father Beast about this, and I will go and look around to see if there are any more grass fruits on the surrounding mountains."

Josh nodded, indicating that they could find something better.

"Okay, thank you all for your hard work."

Hongxi was eager to tell the tribal shaman the news, so after taking a few herbs and fruits, he left with the male orcs.

As Qiao Xixi closed the courtyard gate, a figure emerged from behind a large tree.

Millie's eyes were filled with anger. "I never expected that she would discover the salt crystals in the cardamom."

This makes Josie's position in the tribe even more difficult to shake.

The eyes of a good male can no longer tolerate her!

Mimi walked to the stream in a huff, grabbed a pebble from the ground, and threw it into the water.

She had no idea that she was being watched.

She walked further and further away, and when she came to her senses, she realized that she was almost out of the village along the stream.

There wasn't a single orc around.

She was a little scared and quickly walked back.

But as soon as she turned around, a hand covered her mouth, and she was dragged into the thick vegetation.

"Um!"

The gibbon transformed into human form and used vines to tie Millie up.

The green snake beast stood to the side, its forked tongue almost touching her face.

Millie was almost in tears.

"You, you damned stray beasts, let me go."

“We didn’t originally intend to arrest you, but you delivered yourself right to our doorstep, so we just happened to catch you and go back to report.”

"No, no, uh!"

The gibbon carried Millie on its shoulder and quickly walked up the mountain.

Jin Lin was looking at a deer-like beast and was about to descend the mountain when he heard a strange noise coming from ahead.

After setting down his prey, he hid behind a large tree and observed the movements ahead.

From afar, he saw two male stray beasts carrying a female and running towards him.

Jin Lin noticed the female's white pointed ears. The only nearby tribe was the Black Stone Tribe, so this female was likely captured from the Black Stone Tribe by a stray beast.

Thinking of this, Jin Lin's expression darkened, and he quickly jumped up and punched the male green snake in the back.

The gibbon turned around, but before it could even see Jin Lin's face, it was knocked down with a single punch.

Jin Lin's face was cold.

"Release the female."

The gibbon beast's face darkened. They had been staking out for so long and had finally managed to capture a female. If they let them go back, they would surely be doomed. Those beastmen who ate people without spitting out the bones would definitely not let them go.

"impossible."

The green snake beast blocked Jin Lin's path.

"Take that female away first."

The gibbon picked up Millie from the ground and ran.

Jin Lin transformed into his beast form and began fighting the Green Serpent Beast.

As she ran, Millie spat out the weeds that were in her mouth.

She pleaded.

"Please, please let me go. I can tell you that there is a very powerful female in our tribe. She can not only cure diseases, but also has a very high fertility. She is also the priestess of our tribe."

The gibbon stopped running. "What did you say?"

“I’m not lying to you. Her name is Qiao Xixi. There’s a kid in the tribe whose legs were torn off, and she healed him.”

The gibbon looked at Millie in surprise.

"Is she really that amazing?"

"Yes, you, you let me go, and I'll help you catch her."

A calculating glint flashed in the long-armed ape's eyes.

The female Millie was talking about was incredibly attractive to him. If he could capture her and bring her back, would he still need to keep running around outside?

With that thought in mind, the gibbon put Millie down and bit her hand.

“Female, I have left my scent on you. If you dare to lie to me, I will find you no matter where you go.”

Millie nodded eagerly.

"Okay, I, I would never lie to you."

The gibbon cut the vines off her body and led her back.

Millie hadn't walked far when she saw Kim Rin running towards her.

She rushed to Jin Lin, her voice choked with sobs.

"Jin Lin, you've come to save me."

Jin Lin paused in his running motion and quickly dodged Mi Li's body.

"It's you?"

Millie pitifully wiped away her tears.

"Yes, thank you for saving me. I have nothing to repay you with, so I'll make you my beast husband. Are you willing?"

Jin Lin frowned, looking gloomy.

He didn't see that it was Millie who was arrested.

Males have a responsibility to protect females, but they can choose to ignore females they find repulsive.

Jin Lin turned and walked down the mountain.

"Hey, Jin Lin, wait for me! You saved me, and you haven't told me how I'm going to thank you yet."

"Need not."

Jin Lin moved quickly, and after finding his fallen prey, he disappeared into the mountains in the blink of an eye.

Millie was afraid that the gibbon beast would change its mind, so she ran after Jin Lin.

They slowed down when they saw the tribe.

Upon returning to her tribe, her anger flared up again.

"If it weren't for Josh, I wouldn't have been captured by those stray beasts. She must have lured them here!"

Millie turned and headed to complain to the tribal shaman.

But once the tribal shaman learned that Josie had discovered the salt crystal, he couldn't hear anything else.

All I could think about was finding more cardamom as soon as possible.

Qiao Xixi was unaware of any of this happening.

The little ones took turns helping to stir the liquid in the pot.

Her job was to extract the juice from the cardamom.

When Jin Lin returned carrying his prey, Qiao Xixi was resting on the stone bench with her cub.

Jin Lin was equally surprised to see a jar of salt crystals on the table.

"These were all refined from cardamom?"

"Yes, I plan to refine them all and send some to the orcs who are helping in the tribe. The rest should last us a long time."

Jin Lin smiled and nodded, "Xi Xi, you know so much."

Qiao Xixi smiled shyly.

"With salt, our meal tonight will definitely taste even better."

"Okay, I'll go deal with the prey first."

When Jin Lin walked to the back of the courtyard, he called Qiao Lie and Qiao Ang over.

"Watch carefully how I handle my prey; see the process first."

Qiao Xixi glanced at the backyard.

Jin Lin is really like a good father. He takes good care of his children and teaches them many things that no one else would ever tell them.

Qiao Lie and Qiao Ang studied very diligently, and the way they looked at Jin Lin also changed subtly.

Qiao Xixi started cooking. Jin Lin said that deer blood is very nutritious and can help the body, so she made a pot of soup with deer blood.

After making another dish of braised venison with yellow jujube, it was almost time to eat.

Qiao Xixi had set out the bowls and chopsticks and was about to call them to eat when someone knocked on the courtyard gate.
