Reborn Cat Sheriff

Chapter 652 Venting Anger

Chapter 652 Venting Anger

The way Wei Gou tricks children is very simple.

There's only one kindergarten near the square, and I heard it's quite prestigious. This child's clothes and shoes are all designer brands; the chances of him attending that kindergarten are extremely high. As for Principal Li… her name and photo are on the kindergarten's enrollment advertisement!
These things can be easily found online, and gaining trust is a piece of cake.

As Weigou walked behind Dongdong, he casually described Principal Li's appearance and even made up some stories about her mischievous behavior at home, which made Dongdong giggle.

His description was very accurate, and his words were witty and humorous, which quickly made Dongdong lower his guard against Weigou. With the intention of doing a good deed, Dongdong led Weigou away from the bustling square and turned a corner to a quiet spot on the downhill side.

"That bastard, he's got a real knack for talking!"

Lin Ge followed behind, gritting his teeth. He had to admit that Wei Gou was indeed quite capable. Although children are indeed easy to fool, the fact that he could make the kid lower his guard so easily showed that he had some skill.

It's a pity they didn't take the right path!
Lingo moved silently along the flower bed, sharpening its claws on the floor along the way to make them even sharper.

"Wait a minute, kid, Grandpa needs to use the restroom."

As they approached a public restroom near the kindergarten, Wei Gou suddenly called out to the little boy.

Seeing Dongdong turn around curiously, he chuckled and said, "Dongdong, help Grandpa with his luggage! The things inside are quite expensive. Don't let anyone take them. Ugh... it's pretty dark in here, it's not safe for you to stand outside. Why don't you come in with me? We're all boys, there's nothing to be shy about, right? When I see Director Li later, I'll ask her to buy you some ice cream! Your mom and grandma usually don't let you eat much, right? Let's eat it secretly without telling her."

After being tempted repeatedly, the little boy Dongdong finally couldn't resist Weigou's allure any longer. He nodded, grabbed his suitcase with both hands, and struggled to carry it up the steps, following Weigou into the public restroom.

The public restroom wasn't very clean, but fortunately, no one was inside.

"Hmm~"

Without even considering whether there were people in those pits, Wei Gou came in, covered Dong Dong's mouth, and pulled him to the very back.

The little boy was no match for Wei Gou's strength; he couldn't even utter a sound before his face turned bright red from being choked. Wei Gou then dragged the boy into the innermost cubicle, bracing the door with his foot while slowly reaching into his pants pocket with his other hand. He quickly pulled out a small medicine bottle containing a clear liquid, the opening plugged with a small piece of cotton cloth. The cloth, once removed and unfolded, revealed a handkerchief soaked with enough liquid to easily subdue a child.

"This little rascal is pretty strong! With so much energy, he should be able to hold on until he gets paid, instead of dying of illness along the way, right?"

Wei Gou chuckled to himself, a cold glint in his eyes.

This time, he carefully selected his target, determined not to repeat the mistake of the last time, when he worked hard but didn't earn a single penny.

"Crack!"

Just as he was about to use a handkerchief to knock the little devil unconscious, a strange sound suddenly came from next door.

Wei Gou suddenly paused, stopping his actions and halting his harm to the little boy. He remained motionless, listening intently, but this time he heard nothing. Besides, he had already checked when he came in; the door next door was wide open, and no one was there!

After a pause of about ten seconds, Wei Gou lowered his guard. Worried that things might get complicated if he waited too long, he continued working. The little boy's tearful eyes did not evoke any pity in him; it was as if the boy before him wasn't a person, but merely a reasonably good product.

Suddenly, a pair of grayish-white, furry little feet appeared under the small door of the cubicle and then quickly disappeared, followed by the sound of scratching the door.

Wei Gou's movements stopped again, and cold sweat broke out on his forehead.

There were no footsteps!
He heard no one coming or going; the public restroom was so quiet it seemed he was the only one there. The commotion outside was annoying, but he couldn't worry about that now; he had to figure out who was bothering him.

"Could it really be the curse that bitch said when she was bought the other day? She's dead? And she's come back to haunt me? Tsk! I didn't even kill her!"

Wei Gou muttered to himself, trying to calm himself down. He told himself that there were no ghosts in this world; otherwise, given all the heinous things he had done over the years, if ghosts existed, he would have been killed by them long ago in revenge!

Since I've done it so many times and gotten away with it, ghosts are just nonsense!
'Bang!'

The door made another strange noise, which startled Wei Gou and made him shudder.

But his expression quickly changed, and without hesitation, he kicked the adjacent partition with all his might!
With a deafening 'bang,' the entire toilet partition frame shook violently.

"Fuck!"

Lin Ge was almost kicked off the wall.

Pretending to be a ghost is no fun at all; these walls are too slippery. If he hadn't been lucky enough to jump right to the top, Wei Gou's kick would have really sent him sprawling and covered in poop and pee.

"Woooooooo..."

Dongdong's cheeks and neck were flushed red, and he cried out in despair, but Wei Gou covered his mouth. He was too scared to struggle, especially given Wei Gou's inexplicable rage. He was so frightened that his crotch was already wet.

"Now you know what it means to be obedient, right? You dare to go with just any stranger? You won't learn your lesson until you suffer this loss!"

Lingo rested his paws on the partition, peeking out with his cat head to look down at the solemn-looking Wei Gou and the terrified child below.

Considering the hostages held by Wei Gou, and the need to buy time for Chen Song to arrive, Lin Ge refrained from making any rash moves. As long as Wei Gou stopped using those drugged handkerchiefs to harm the children, Lin Ge was willing to continue stalling with him.

However, this was ultimately just wishful thinking. Taking a deep breath and quickly calming down, Wei Gou wasn't the kind of clueless novice. He knew exactly what needed to be done, so he didn't hesitate to act on Dong Dong again. He even took the time to use his other hand to untie the suitcase, intending to drug Dong Dong and put him inside. The suitcase was just big enough to fit a child inside; he wanted to leave now before the child's parents had time or opportunity to find him.

"You really are... courting death!"

Lin Ge laughed in exasperation. It seemed this bastard had no intention of giving up at all. Most people, upon realizing something was wrong, would immediately run, but this guy was determined to take the person away?

What does he even think of people?!
Seizing the opportunity, Lingo quickly climbed to the top of the partition, arching his body and eager to try.

"You brat, stop crying! I'll find you a good father to take care of you, and I guarantee you'll never miss home again; you'll eat chaff and drink thin gruel every day, and no one will care how much you cry and wail in the vast mountains!"

With a ferocious grin, Wei Gou pressed the handkerchief tightly against Dong Dong's face.

"Ow!"

The moment Wei Gou lowered his head was the perfect opportunity for Lin Ge. He swiftly pounced down from above and delivered a powerful kick to Wei Gou's neck!
Caught off guard and startled, Wei Gou only had time to turn around in astonishment before seeing something grayish-white lunge at his face. Without hesitation, Lin Ge lashed out with a series of slaps, instantly splattering blood across Wei Gou's face.

"what!"

Forget about the child and making money, Wei Gou howled and swung his arms wildly, trying to slap Ling Ge away from his face. However, this time Ling Ge had no intention of backing down. He scratched Wei Gou's face with his claws, causing him to spurt out another stream of blood.

Lin Ge thought of Huang Guimei; as a human trafficker herself, she should receive the same treatment!

That old woman's entire face was ruined, her nose was split into three pieces! This bastard in front of me should have four more claw marks on his face! If he dares to resist, it wouldn't be a problem to rip out both his eyes, making a perfect straight!
Lin Ge worked frantically, his teeth clenched, the smell of blood on his hands making him seem even more frantic.

"Ah~ Ahhh~~"

Wei Gou's eyes were almost completely blind; shadows and blood obscured his vision, causing his body to convulse. He couldn't even open his eyes, let alone breathe; he felt utterly powerless, all his nerves and attention focused on his face, helplessly enduring the intense pain. At this point, he couldn't even stand, let alone continue holding Dongdong hostage; he could only crouch in a corner, waving his arms and cradling his head in his hands.

"Screw you, stand up straight and I'll take two more swipes!" Lin Ge roared furiously, not caring about anything else at this moment. Human traffickers are more hateful than any other crime; their very existence is a desecration of this world!

Murderers who don't value human life are already hateful enough, but those who treat people as commodities... they shouldn't even be called human!
"Die!"

Lingo slashed again with his claws.

"Well……"

Wei Gou felt a chill run through his body from the pain, wanting to howl but unable to open his mouth. He groaned helplessly, but then heard someone else wailing loudly beside him. He should be the one crying in pain, so why did someone dare to beat him to it?
"hiss……"

A searing pain, as if his entire body were on fire, made Wei Gou's teeth grind together. He still didn't know what the monster that attacked him was, but it certainly wasn't a single person! That grayish-white shadow with its sharp claws and teeth truly resembled the vengeful ghost he'd mocked in his dreams. For once, he began to regret the things he'd done in the past, but if he hadn't done those things, where would he have gotten the money for his carefree and extravagant lifestyle?
"I...help me...help me...police..."

Wei Gou is now at a loss, with only one option left: to seek help from the most trustworthy person in the world.

"I'd rather die than save you! You dog, you deserve to be fed to the dogs!"

Lin Ge slammed his claw into Wei Gou's face.

'Bang bang bang! '

"Who's inside! Come out now! What happened? Open the door!"

Suddenly, there was a rapid knocking and shouting outside. Lin Ge also heard bewildered crying and a frantic cry for "Dongdong." The person leading the knocking was Chen Song's wife, her voice filled with panic.

"Waaaaah... Ah~~"

Dongdong, who had been wailing loudly, cried even more bitterly when he heard his grandmother and mother's voices.

Lin Ge flicked his tail and stopped attacking, realizing that these people had arrived at an inopportune time. Although he was the one who had signaled Niu Niu to call for help, it would have been better if they had arrived a little later; the bloodstains on Wei Gou's face and body weren't symmetrical enough yet.

As for murder... Lingo would never do it.

"Dongdong, open the door!"

Dongdong's wailing frightened his mother and grandmother outside the door, who immediately banged on the door repeatedly. Then, with a forceful shoulder shove from his mother, the partition door was flung open, revealing the two people inside.

One person, stained with blood, knelt on the ground with their head bowed, while another sat on the ground wailing. In the cramped space, besides the two people, there was an open, empty box with a bottle lying beside it, emitting a pungent odor.

This scene left everyone bewildered.

Despite the increasing number of people rushing into the toilet, everyone looked at each other, bewildered by the scene that resembled a murder scene, still unable to understand what had happened.

Didn't this Mrs. Chen say that Dongdong was kidnapped?
The person on the ground, covered in blood and looking like they're about to die, could they be a human trafficker?
Who did it?
Dongdong?

“Dongdong!”

Only Dongdong's mother and grandmother ignored everything, rushed in, pulled Dongdong out, and hugged him tightly. One choked back a sob and breathed a sigh of relief, not knowing what to say, while the other quickly checked Dongdong for any injuries.

Have you called 110 yet?

When will the police arrive?

"What about 120?"

The curious onlookers were completely confused about what was going on, but they at least knew that something was wrong. Regardless of whether this person was a kidnapper or not, the fact that Dongdong and he were trapped in a cubicle that could only be opened from the inside was undoubtedly suspicious!
"Where's Mimi?"

Only Chen Song's wife seemed to know what had happened. Looking around, she noticed Mimi wasn't there and a hint of confusion crossed her face. Unfortunately, her daughter was right behind her and needed protection, so she could only stay put and wait for Mimi to come out on her own.

"How could I be so foolish as to come out and turn myself in?"

Lingo climbed from the toilet's ventilation shaft onto the roof of the public toilet, and felt disgusted by the bloodstains on his claws. He wanted to find a way to clean the blood off his hands, but he resisted the urge to touch the filthy blood with his tongue.

"Chen Song should be here soon, right? We know this guy is a human trafficker, and we have Wei Gou's photo, so we're sure his identity is confirmed. Plus, there's the evidence Wei Gou left in the restroom and Dongdong as a witness, so this guy shouldn't be able to escape. Since that's the case, there's no need for me to stay here any longer. After all, making him act like this as revenge doesn't meet the requirements of Police Cat, but as long as I don't show up, no one can make me admit anything!"

Lin Ge muttered to himself as he jumped down from the women's restroom and left silently.

After giving Wei Gou a good beating, Ling Ge felt a lot of relief and his whole body felt great. Indeed, as a cat, sometimes you should be free and unrestrained; a life that's too restrictive only makes a cat feel tired.

The stench emanating from him was repulsive to even Lin Ge himself, so he naturally wouldn't walk openly on the street. This time, he chose to operate through alleyways, hoping that the bloody claw marks on the ground wouldn't frighten the sanitation workers who would be up early to work the next day. Even the stench of blood frightened the stray cats in the vicinity. They, who should have quickly and obediently paid homage to their king, now only dared to squat on the top of the courtyard wall and silently watch from afar.

Lin Ge wasn't in the mood to play with them either. The matter of human traffickers weighed heavily on his mind, and it wasn't something that could be easily vented by beating up the traffickers.

He soon returned to the hotel.

Seemingly already aware of what had happened to Lin Ge, Sun Chang, Li Siyu, and Zhang Ke waited for him in a secluded spot outside the hotel. Seeing the little dog huddled in the shadows, the group exchanged glances and couldn't help but shake their heads. That little rascal!
"Mimi, come here quickly! I brought some wet wipes to wipe your hands!"

Li Siyu waved to Lin Ge from afar. This wasn't the first time she'd seen Mimi do such a self-serving and mischievous thing. Every time, someone had to clean up its mess; this cat's capriciousness was truly a headache.

"What does this have to do with me? I just actively caught a heinous bastard, that's all!"

Lin Ge pursed his lips, but still walked out generously and came to Li Siyu's feet, asking her to help him wipe off all the bloodstains and dust on his body.

With the filthy stench of the hyena gone, Lin Ge's mood finally improved considerably. However, Zhang Ke's constant nagging was somewhat annoying. Lin Ge knew he had done something wrong, but was it really that serious?

As a police cat, what's wrong with stopping crime?
snort!
Lin Ge called out arrogantly.

"Alright, let's go inside and talk about it later! We still need to discuss the human trafficker issue with Zhang Yong. Although it's a good thing that we were able to catch Li Wei ahead of time, making him like this will put the Zhushi Municipal Public Security Bureau in a difficult position."

Li Yiduo interrupted Zhang Ke's rambling, indicating that they were outside and should go back to their room first.

“What’s so difficult about it? Mimi helped them catch the suspect, shouldn’t they be grateful to Mimi? Now that Li Wei has also been arrested, the entire human trafficking chain is basically linked together, and none of the main culprits have escaped. That’s better than anything else!”

Sun Chang stood indignantly with his hands on his hips, firmly on Mimi's side.

"No, this isn't over yet!"

Lin Ge quickly struggled to jump out of Li Siyu's arms, glaring at Sun Chang and telling her not to let her guard down. When he was following Wei Gou before, he had heard very clearly that there were many people hiding behind Wei Gou! Even if they weren't accomplices, they had helped him do things that harmed people.

In particular, Li Wei once mentioned that when he abducted an easily controlled child, he would handle it himself. But if it was an adult or a girl about to reach adulthood, he would hand the victim over to other people... for "discipline."

Therefore, although Weigou is the central link in the entire human trafficking chain, all other side chains must also be completely eliminated!
