Reborn Cat Sheriff

Chapter 52 The Unlucky Thief

Chapter 52 The Unlucky Thief
Using bamboo skewers as weapons, it's amazing that Hu Miao could come up with such an idea.

But upon closer reflection, this thing is actually quite formidable. Especially now that the weather is hot and people are wearing less clothing, if this thing pierces flesh or hits a vital spot, it's no less threatening than a metal weapon like a dagger.

But they're just a few kids, how could they really hurt someone?
Lin Ge glanced back at the children, not taking it seriously. He wasn't really going to take them to catch a thief; he was just playing a game to amuse them.

With that thought in mind, Lin Ge continued walking forward.

Several children followed behind, furtively clutching weapons, exchanging excited glances.

The food street wasn't long; it ended in just a few minutes. The thief didn't seem to be there to eat; after crossing the food street, he went straight across the road and headed towards the residential area on the other side.

Lin Ge quickly followed, trailing behind at a distance of several dozen meters.

Then we walked straight ahead and soon arrived near a vegetable market.

"North Gate Market? What's Mimi doing here?"

Nie Zhuangzhuang looked at Lin Ge, who was walking straight ahead, with a puzzled expression. Suddenly, he wondered if this game of catching thieves was just a figment of their imagination.
"Does Mimi want to eat fish?"

Xie Zaiqi suggested a possibility, rubbing his leg, he felt a bit like going home.

Zhang Yining hesitated for a moment, but after thinking it over, she gritted her teeth and said, "Never mind! We've come this far, how can we give up halfway? Besides, the market is a mess, there are definitely thieves or something inside, let's go catch them!"

"Holy crap, you guessed that?"

Lin Ge turned around in shock. Zhang Yining, by sheer luck, had actually guessed Lin Ge's target.

But like this girl said, we've come all this way, how can we give up halfway? We need to find out the thief's purpose or where he is. We can deal with him properly tomorrow when these kids aren't in the way!

Lin Ge looked at the thief again, watching him pretend to buy groceries as he walked around the various stalls, while his eyes kept glancing at the passersby.

Most of the people shopping at the market are middle-aged and elderly. People of this age are generally thrifty, and the goods at the market are cheaper than in supermarkets, so even in the afternoon, the market is still very crowded.

Everyone was focused on selecting vegetables with their harvest, making it difficult to notice what was happening around them. Unfortunately, the thief was a professional; Lin Ge, with his sharp eyes, immediately spotted a cell phone in his hand, which he casually slipped into his pocket.

"Is this some kind of life experience? Even as a thief leader, you still can't resist taking a few pecks?"

Lin Ge gritted his teeth.

But he is now unarmed and has no police officers to help him, so even if he discovers this, he has no immediate solution.

Not long after, the thief lingered for a few seconds at a braised meat stall. With a flick of his left hand, he snatched the phone from the after-get off work worker who was instructing the owner to cut the meat into smaller pieces. The thief checked it to make sure it was the latest model, and his smile widened.

He turned to leave, filled with the joy of a bountiful harvest, when suddenly his wrist was grabbed tightly.

"Dude, you're leaving already?"

The office worker gripped the thief's wrist tightly, a contemptuous smile on his face: "You should at least have said something before taking my things, right? If you really need a phone, I could give you one, it wouldn't be a big deal, would it?"

The thief's face changed drastically. He tried to pull his hand away but couldn't. He could only glare at the man and say, "You... what are you saying? Are you looking for trouble? I was just passing by and you're picking a fight with me? Are you crazy?!"

"Heh, still not giving up? Come on, tell me, what's that you're hiding in your back pocket? Should I make a phone call and see why it's ringing on you?"

The man's face held a contemptuous expression, but his hands were like iron clamps, rendering the thief unable to move.

"Hey?"

The commotion attracted the attention of several children, and Hu Miao suddenly froze when she saw the commuters leaving get off work.

"dad?"

"Uncle Hu?"

Zhang Yining, Nie Zhuangzhuang, and Zheng Jiacheng were also stunned.

"Heh... what an unexpected reinforcement!"

Lin Ge had already discovered Hu Lijun's identity when the thief stole the phone. He was a community police officer at Zhanghe Police Station, who usually traveled around several communities in his jurisdiction every day. He had a gentle personality and was responsible for many trivial matters related to the public.

But you can't underestimate him; there's no useless person in Zhanghe Police Station.

Hu Lijun was also a former soldier, and his skills were second to none. He became a community police officer simply because he preferred dealing with good people. If you think he's easy to bully, you'll end up like this thief.

Hu Lijun squeezed his hand so hard that the thief's face changed drastically and he trembled all over in pain.

"father!"

With a delighted smile on her face, Hu Miao shouted and ran towards Hu Lijun. "Don't come any closer!"

Hu Lijun's expression changed drastically.

"Oh shit!"

The thief seized the opportunity instantly. He twisted his body violently, grabbed the stack of fruit baskets piled up on the right side of the fruit stand with his free hand, and slammed them hard towards Hu Miao.

The stall platform, about a meter high, along with layers of fruit boxes, one or two meters high, crashed down at Hu Miao, tilting precariously.

Hu Miao was stunned with fright.

"Damn it!"

Hu Lijun could no longer hold onto the thief; he quickly braced the fruit box with both hands to prevent it from falling.

The top box of apples still fell down, hitting Hu Lijun on the shoulder, making him groan, and then scattered all over the ground.

Upon seeing that they were free, the bandit leader turned and ran without hesitation.

Hu Lijun desperately wanted to catch the thief, but he was trapped by the pile of apple crates. Unless he let all those crates of fruit fall to the ground or hit his daughter, he had no choice but to stay put and endure it.

Suddenly, a white shadow flashed past Hu Lijun's eyes.

It was a white-gray cat, rushing towards the thief at incredible speed. The cat even trampled on the vegetables being sold, taking a shortcut to close the distance with the thief.

"Mimi?"

Hu Lijun was taken aback. Of course he recognized the star cat of his police station.

Before he could even ponder why the police station's cat was hanging out with his daughter, Lin Ge had already appeared behind the thief leader with lightning speed. The thief, running, lifted his shirt, revealing his tanned, tattooed back. Lin Ge wasn't about to let such an opportunity slip by. Without hesitation, he pounced and slashed, leaving a deep, clean cut on what appeared to be a dragon tattoo. In an instant, blood gushed out.

"Ahhh!"

The thief leader felt a sharp pain in his back and had no idea what was happening. He frantically waved his hands, shooing away the passersby who were in his way.

His madman-like behavior made even those who intended to intervene back down.

But Ringo didn't give him the chance to continue his recklessness.

After landing, Lin Ge quickly lunged forward, using the nearby shelf as a springboard to nimbly smash into the back of the thief's neck.

With his weight of over ten kilograms and a full-force lunge, the thief leader immediately lost his balance while running. He staggered forward two steps, twisted his right ankle, and fell heavily to the ground, sliding a meter or two away.

"hiss……"

The woman selling fish next to her gasped; it was clear she had fallen hard.

"Mom... Mom..."

The thief struggled to lift his head, his lips twitching and trembling. He felt pain all over his body, and his face was almost numb. But he still couldn't figure out who was doing this to him, and he had no strength to get up.

'Boom! '

He was hit on the head again, his face slammed into the ground, and he saw stars.

"Well……"

The fishmonger gasped again. "Is that a little tiger? It's terrifyingly fierce!"

Enraged, Lin Ge stomped on the gang leader, ready to beat the bastard to a pulp if he dared to move. The fact that a few kids had almost gotten into trouble right in front of him made Lin Ge feel utterly humiliated!
Moreover, in Lin Ge's view, the kids had come with him, so he had an obligation to protect them. If Hu Miao really got into trouble in front of him, Lin Ge would never forgive himself.

So this damned thief leader deserves to be taught a lesson!
Seeing the thief's clothes torn to shreds, revealing a dragon's eye through the gap, Lin Ge scratched down with his claws without saying a word!
Would you dare to get a dragon's eye tattooed?
court death!

"Hey! Mimi, stop hitting me! Stop hitting me!"

With the help of a nearby stall owner, Hu Lijun finally managed to escape. Seeing the thief's miserable state and remembering Zhu Wentao's past in the ICU, he quickly came over to stop him, fearing that the thief might accidentally be killed by Mimi.

"Who listens to you!"

Lin Ge struck him several more times, causing the thief to scream in agony.
