Chapter 62 Connections are still useful after all.
The chemistry classroom was filled with smoke after the explosion.
The teaching building looked like it was engulfed in flames.
Ian saw two people arguing fiercely through the classroom window. He was very curious that someone else could see the Grim Reaper in those invisible realms, just like him.
Perhaps her adoptive father has an adopted daughter?
The thought of this.
Ian immediately perked up.
This feud is getting more and more interesting!
"Don't move around here. I'll bring you some oranges later." Ian turned to Madison, who was already taking out her phone and snapping photos, hoping to get a lot of traffic on social media, and reminded her. Then he immediately ran towards the teaching building, afraid that he would miss the most exciting part if he was too slow.
"I don't want oranges! Bring me back some of Mr. White's morphine!" Madison yelled at Ian's retreating back. The delinquent's attention was completely focused on the video recording. Poor grades didn't mean she wasn't a smart girl, so she not only knew Ian wanted to watch the show up close but also knew what was most valuable in the chemistry teacher's classroom.
Madison doesn't use those contraband items, but they do allow her to show off in front of her friends.
"no problem!"
When money wasn't involved, Ian was still willing to help his friends. The pungent smell of gunpowder mixed with the smell of burning filled the air as he ran against the screaming and fleeing crowd in the teaching building toward the chemistry classroom.
A teacher passed by.
I didn't ask him what he was going to do.
They were too busy saving their own lives to care about other students. That's the reality in America, which is why Hollywood movies celebrate those few isolated acts of morality. Helping others? In some places, it's just a simple thing to do, but in others, it's considered heroic.
Thick smoke billowed outside the classroom.
Ian poked his head in slightly.
He saw two women.
One was a female Grim Reaper in a black uniform, her face unfamiliar, not the old acquaintance Tessa; the other was a blue-haired girl, her hair shimmering in the sunlight streaming through the window.
Her forehead was adorned with strange tattoos, her face was delicate, her skin was pale, and her dark purple clothes made her appear even more aloof. Ian searched his memories but found no information about this girl.
"Perhaps it's a character with relatively low popularity?"
Ian pondered this in his heart.
In classrooms.
The ground was covered with debris from the explosion, and some chemical substances remained on the ground, slowly flowing, as if they were slowly gathering together to outline some kind of pattern.
No one noticed.
“This man made a deal with the Three Palaces Demon, and I need to know the reason from him.” The girl stared expressionlessly at the female Grim Reaper, a transparent soul curled up in the corner of her finger.
Yes.
Ian can also see this soul.
It was his unfortunate chemistry teacher, Mr. Walter White.
“Sangu Demon wouldn’t look down on such an ordinary person.” The blue-haired girl’s tone was somewhat confident, and her words were concise and clear, obviously indicating that she felt there was some conspiracy behind this matter.
"I am not an ordinary person!"
Mr. White offered a brief explanation for himself in the corner.
"A drug lord suffering from a terminal illness, who made a deal with the devil to gain a new life—that's as common as a planet in the universe," the girl said calmly.
"..."
Mr. White was rendered speechless by the rebuttal.
“I’m a good man… I did it all for my family, to leave them some money…” Mr. White stammered, trying to justify the fate of his soul.
“A good person is one who doesn’t make a pact with a demon, like me.” The blue-haired girl paused for a moment. “No, I’m not either. It’s just that my father is a demon.”
This dry humor carries a slightly self-deprecating tone.
However, Mr. White did not perceive the drama in it.
“Special girl, I sympathize with your plight, but this soul has been marked, and I must take it away.” The brown-haired female grim reaper’s attitude was also resolute.
"You're making decisions that are harmful to the world, and you're even more foolish than me." The blue-haired girl's tone was equally flat as she openly expressed her opinion to the Grim Reaper.
"Death has no need to concern itself with the Lord of Hell." The female Death chuckled softly, stepped forward, and was about to take Mr. White away. Seeing the blue-haired girl make a move, she raised her hand for the first time.
"what did you do to me?"
The blue-haired girl suddenly realized she couldn't move and frowned slightly. "I'm fulfilling my duty."
The female Grim Reaper responded by extending her hand to Mr. White—however, Mr. White did not feel this kindness, and he hesitated for a long time before responding to the Grim Reaper.
"Come on, don't be afraid, death is just a new beginning."
The female Grim Reaper spoke softly, offering words of comfort.
There are also rules to follow in their line of work: those they take away must be willing for them to be able to take away souls that should no longer remain in the world.
"I need to achieve my goal, even if it means bearing some guilt." The blue-haired girl, who was frozen in place, had a red glow on her forehead, and her eyes turned red in an instant.
The atmosphere was tense.
Death was on high alert.
The temperature in the air began to drop sharply.
And at this time.
"Wow, your forehead is so shiny." A hand suddenly reached out and grabbed the blue-haired girl's forehead, as if it wanted to pry off the shiny "gem" on her forehead.
Darkness Erosion
Berserker Experience +3
A voice rang in Ian's ear.
Ian got the "offensive" reward he wanted. He didn't know who the girl was, but he could sense that the power emanating from her forehead was extremely dangerous.
And he.
I like dangerous things.
"Sorry, I wasn't fully awake. I thought you'd found my lost gemstone..." Ian chuckled as he looked at the emotionless girl whose eyes were now closed and who was staring at him blankly.
"Who are you? You're even more ruthless than me!"
A hint of confusion flashed across the girl's eyes.
“An anonymous bystander.” Ian grinned, turned to look at the chemistry teacher in the corner, and waved to Mr. White.
"Hi, Mr. White, you look great!"
A warm greeting.
All he got in return was Mr. White cowering even more in the corner—he knew Ian wasn't normal, but he hadn't expected him to be this bizarre and sinister.
Even if you've become a ghost, how can the other person still see you?
"You're also a Grim Reaper?" Actually, the blue-haired girl couldn't understand Ian's situation either. People who had been corrupted by her power couldn't possibly be so radiant.
In response to the girl's question.
"I'm not."
Ian shook his head.
"I can see that you won't get to the hair-pulling stage. You're no match for her, which is normal. Death is all in black, and this is the Black Lives Matter version."
"Black clothes are still black."
He reached into the girl's pocket.
"what are you doing?"
The girl, still not completely free from her restraints, frowned. She watched as Ian took out her wallet, and then watched Ian open the wallet and walk towards the Grim Reaper.
“I’m actually quite curious about what she meant by the Three Palaces Demon.” Ian counted out two hundred dollars, pocketed one hundred for himself, and then handed another one hundred to Death.
"Having some tea won't take long."
Ian realized the girl wasn't his adopted sister, but that didn't stop him from showing his kindness—well, he was actually after the magical power emanating from the powerful demon on the girl's forehead.
and so.
