American comic book: My Father is Superman, am I just an NPC?

Chapter 48 Dad! I almost didn't recognize you!

Chapter 48 Dad! I almost didn't recognize you!
Yellow sand swirled at Clark's feet, and scorched earth steamed up dark red mist—the originally industrial-style dining room, under the distortion of light and shadow, presented a scene that seemed like another world.

Clark was wearing his classic battle suit.

He stared intently at his youngest son.

"..."

Ian doesn't usually panic.

The exception is when facing one's parents.

Unfortunately, he was currently being watched with a stern gaze by his own father. The good news, of course, was that Ian didn't need to worry about being subjected to the heat rays of Superman's gaze.

This is much better than most villains get. However, the bad news is that even though Ian is now able to confess, he still can't explain why he was using Kara as a hammer.

"I don't understand what you're talking about." Ian instinctively tried to hide his aunt behind his back, but she was too long, and his not-so-broad back couldn't conceal her at all.

In reality, even if you could hide it, it wouldn't make any difference.

It's just a conditioned reflex.

“Superman! You’re too late! As a member of the public, I’m the one who needs an explanation.” Ian thought of the news he’d seen last night and, in a moment of quick thinking, chose to strike first.

He disguised himself as an ordinary citizen who couldn't even tell whether Superman was handsome or not. It was a very reasonable disguise, and Ian felt that he also respected the traditions of the DC Universe.

however.

It might not be that useful for Ian.

"?????"

The veins on Clark's forehead were visibly bulging, and his fists were clenched tightly. Clearly, if Ian hadn't been in the habit of hitting children, he would have seen the Coach belt that Clark had hidden by now.

“Ian, this is not funny.”

Superman gritted his teeth, his voice deep and magnetic.

"Hiss, Superman even knows my name...tsk tsk, I knew there must be a pedophile among the superheroes..." Ian's performance, which he learned from his classmate, was obviously not convincing enough to fool people.

He saw his father's face grow increasingly ashen.

"Uh, I knew Madison's 'Madison's Rules of Performance' was unreliable!"

Ian was startled and dared not continue to tarnish his father's image. After swallowing hard, he suddenly raised his hand and pointed behind Clark.

"Look! That Titan is getting up again!" Ian exclaimed. It wasn't a UFO scene; he had actually seen something that could distract him.

A colossal figure, so large it blotted out the sky, slowly rose to its feet, its appearance identical to Sargeras in Ian's memory. Its expression was furious, and though its size had shrunk considerably, it still exuded a suffocating sense of oppression.

"Boom!"

Titan's terrifying fist slammed down on the culprit who had overthrown him.

He launched a sneak attack.

It didn't even stir up any wind.

however.

"Oh!"

Clark was not surprised by Ian's reminder.

He didn't even turn around; he simply braced himself with one hand, and the fist of the ancient Titan from another world, which was larger than a truck, was firmly fixed in mid-air.

The visual impact is extremely strong.

"mortal!"

The Titan roared.

He found himself seemingly unable to move.

Clark completely ignored the struggle behind him, his gaze fixed on his youngest son, which made Ian, who was already feeling a little guilty, start to feel uneasy.

"Truly worthy of being Superman! Looks like I'm no longer needed here..." Ian forced a smile beneath his head covered by stockings, then silently placed Kara on the ground, as if placing a statue.

He also helped Kara brush off the dirt off her body, all of which was "criminal" evidence of him using Kara as a hammer to hit people everywhere. He quietly cleaned it all up.

What is this called?
It's called "Dead Man Can't Prove It!"

Ian has already started preparing a backup plan for himself.

“Ian, I am your father, Clark Kent.” Superman had never been so speechless in his life; his voice was now almost as deep as Batman’s.

Perhaps to vent his frustration, Clark turned around and floated in mid-air, smashing the Titan behind him several times, driving it directly into the mountain peak of the ley lines.

With pebbles flying everywhere, the scene looked just like a domestic violence incident. So much so that Ian, who was about to unleash a torrent of curses, only dared to speak softly after gently wiping the pebbles off his face.

"What a villainous Superman! He's impersonating my kind father!" Ian looked around for a moment, but couldn't find a way to escape in this "real illusion."

Everywhere was scorched earth and lava.

There was absolutely no place for them to make a tactical retreat.

Actually, he did have his own ideas.

As long as I can escape.

He could easily concoct a perfect story about a "shapeshifter" impersonating him. Never underestimate a writer's ability; Ian was confident he could craft a compelling and believable plot.

"Stop playing dumb, Ian!" Superman emerged from the dust, his eyes still glowing with a lingering red light, giving him a menacing aura.

Ian couldn't help but shrink his neck.

"Glasses... Clark... put on your glasses..." Perhaps because the chef was already dead, Kara was slowly waking up, and she shook her head to remind Clark.

Supergirl felt she had figured out some of her nephew's tricks.

She still remembered what had just happened.

and so.

He showed Ian his "affection".

"!!!"

Ian felt betrayed.

That wicked cousin!
He saw Superman pull out his glasses and put them on, looking somewhat confused—there was really no reason for him to pretend to be stupid anymore, so Ian could only slap his forehead in sudden realization.

"Oh my god! My dad is Superman! I didn't even recognize him without his glasses! This is amazing!" Ian took a few steps back and then took a deep breath.

"I must tell Jonathan and Jordan this good news!"

He changed his strategy.

Threat mode has been activated.

The old father really didn't want his children to discover this secret. Ian knew this, because he was a fake prophet and had a thorough understanding of his father's personality.

"..."

Superman's temples were throbbing.

"You'd better think about how to explain to your mother that you didn't come home on time again today!" Clark gritted his teeth, turned around, and unleashed a barrage of heat rays at the Titan behind him.

Anger was diverted.

Superman also knows how to manage his emotions.

However, it was definitely a hardship for the massive Titan that was constantly roaring under the heat rays.

"Humble mortal! You cannot stop our rebirth! You will eventually become one of us!" The Titan's roar echoed across the sky, but His threat had no effect.

Superman's heat rays looked even more ferocious.
