Chapter 71 I'll Sleep with You Tonight
Scarlett remained silent on the way back to the small clinic.

The image of Hela's death kept replaying in my mind.

She was very close at the time; the blood was still hot when it splattered on her, and then it slowly turned cold.

The stubborn idea that was rooted in her heart seemed to cool down and turn into a fragile bubble in that instant.

With a gentle touch, it all shattered.

She watched helplessly as Hela breathed her last, then followed Chi Ye and the others back.

He didn't look back even once during that time.

……

……

Return to the room.

Scarlett narrowed her eyes as she looked at the flattened alarm robot, then turned to the three men behind her. "Who did this?"

Sevilla stepped back, distancing herself, "It wasn't me."

Holster's gaze swept lightly across Scarlett's face, catching the mischievous look in her eyes, and he knew she had recovered and was joking with everyone.

He felt inexplicably relieved and much happier. He took a step back, mimicking Sevier's gesture, and said, "It wasn't me either."

Only Chi Ye stood there, his broad back ramrod straight, looking directly into Scarlett's eyes, his expression carrying a hint of pride, "It's me."

Scarlett said sternly, "Pay up."

Chi Ye readily agreed, "Okay."

Scarlett was taken aback, not expecting Chi Ye to be so easy to talk to all of a sudden, like a tamed cat, becoming submissive and compliant.

She couldn't help but take a step further, "Double."

Chi Ye nodded. "Okay."

Scarlett was now certain.

Chi Ye was probably affected by the poison gas, and his mind wasn't working properly.

Otherwise, given his tendency to demand more money at the drop of a hat, how could he possibly have lost double?

She wanted to try and get more back, but then she saw Chi Ye press her shoulders and push her into the room. "Alright, it's getting late. Get some rest. The shelter refreshes at eight o'clock tomorrow, and we'll be busy again."

Scarlett thought about it and agreed.

After a whole night of commotion, it's almost four o'clock now. If I don't sleep soon, I won't have any energy tomorrow, so I stopped worrying about losing money. But as I walked inside, I still held up two fingers high, "Double, remember that."

"I remember, I remember, I definitely remember," Chi Ye coaxed her with a smile.

Wait until the door is closed.

Scarlett froze, her eyelids twitched, she pointed at Chi Ye, then at the door, "Shouldn't you be outside the door?"

Chi Ye leaned closer, his perfect figure with broad shoulders and a narrow waist like a small mountain, casting a dark shadow over Scarlett and completely enveloping her. "I'll sleep with you tonight."

Sleeping with someone?

Scarlett took a deep breath and tried to exhale for a long time, but couldn't. Her heartbeat, which had finally calmed down, soared to its peak at this moment. She felt as if all the blood in her body was flowing backward, rushing to her head.

My brain cells were all jumbled up and out of shape, I had no idea how to think, all that was left was a bunch of yellow waste churning around inside.

My face was burning hot, and my ears were burning hot too.

The fiery red heart turned into a pentagon.

why.

Because it turned yellow.

Seeing Scarlett's increasingly strange expression and her face flushed red, Chi Ye immediately guessed what she was thinking.

He chuckled, a hint of helplessness in his eyes, and reached out to poke her forehead, saying, "Can't you think of something better?"

Scarlett hummed in response, her expression still not fully recovered.

Chi Ye could only explain, "I don't want you to be arrested a second time."

Once is enough.

He was worried he would lose control if he did it again.

"the second time?"

When it came to her own thoughts, Scarlett snapped back to reality. "Isn't Hela dead?"

A cold glint flashed across Chi Ye's face. "Her companion is not dead yet."

Hela's death slightly affected Scarlett. She didn't look at the other six males anymore and left them to Evelyn and the others to deal with.

Evelyn is a courageous female; she will surely handle this well.

But Chi Ye dared not let this possibility slip by; he needed to keep a close watch on Scarlett at all times. Upon hearing this, Scarlett's expression indeed became alert, and she nodded, "Okay."

He added, "I'll sleep on the bed, you sleep on the floor."

Chi Ye's eyebrows twitched, and he bent down, his gaze meeting Scarlett's bright, almond-shaped eyes. He traced her beautiful features with his eyes, and a strong sense of possessiveness welled up in his dark eyes, but he suppressed it. He opened his lips, and his upturned voice carried a hint of alluring teasing, "Otherwise what?"

[Beep beep——]

[Affection Points +5000]

"besides."

Chi Ye took Scarlett's hand, opened her palm, took out a bottle of medicine and sprinkled it on her still-healing wound. "Don't do such dangerous things again."

"No one is worth Your Highness's injury."

……

……

In another room of the small clinic.

Sevier was curled up, her face pale, with fine beads of sweat on her forehead, and her head was shaking incessantly.

Silver scales occasionally broke through his body, emerging from his skin. Even in the unlit room, the light emanating from those scales remained bright.
These scales are sharp, cold, and deadly; each breakthrough requires piercing through Sevia's bones and skin to bloom on his body.

That was a soul-shaking impact brought about by another life.

Imprisoned deep within Sevia's body, yearning for freedom.

Sevier's long eyelashes trembled slightly as she murmured to herself, as if in a dream or in a prayer.

"Please, don't come out. She's fine. She's not hurt. She won't leave me."

"Please, believe me, believe me."

……

……

Scarlett is a person with a natural ability to adjust; she can always maintain an optimistic attitude.

As the sun rises, all bad things are swept away.

Today is another bright and beautiful day!
At 7:30, she opened her eyes, and the light in them was brighter than the sun.

I stepped under the bed and stepped on something hard. I moved my toes a couple of times. Although it was hard, it had a good texture and was very elastic. The outline was also very clear, a bit like abs.

Although she had never touched it, she had seen it and knew its general shape.

She stepped on it again.

Suddenly, a muffled groan was heard, and someone called her name through gritted teeth, "Scarlett!"

Scarlett was instantly jolted awake and looked down at her feet.

She was stepping on Chi Ye's stomach.

Honey-colored abs, pinkish-white toes, with a slightly yellowish tinge.

Startled, she quickly pulled her foot back, exclaiming, "You, you, you, how did you end up sleeping on the edge of the bed?"

She remembered that Chi Ye had slept by the door yesterday.

The ab-stomping early in the morning wasn't her fault; it was Chi Ye's problem.

Chi Ye didn't speak, staring intently at Scarlett, his brows furrowed, a faint blush rising to his cheeks. Just as he was about to explain, a sudden, extremely uncomfortable tension arose in his body.

His brow twitched, and he ripped off the clothes that Scarlett had lifted with her toes, quickly getting up and leaving the room.

Scarlett was taken aback.

Somewhat inexplicable.

It's unclear whether Chi Ye is angry or just angry.

She didn't use much force, so she probably didn't hurt him.

Scarlett got up and washed up. Halfway there, she took a step back and looked at the swaying shadows of the trees outside the window. Then she remembered.

Last night, when she got up to use the bathroom, she was startled by the shadow of a tree on the window. Thinking it was that spider again, she grabbed Chi Ye and wouldn't let go, insisting that he sleep next to her bed and not be too far away.

This……

I'll apologize later.
