Chapter 8 Rules
Jiang Mian ignored Chi Lin's words, moved her lips, and continued after organizing her thoughts: "Let's get along well from now on. I won't hit you anymore. I know you won't believe me now, so I'll show you with my actions later."

She paused, then looked at them calmly: "When the time is right, I can let you leave, but that will depend on your performance. If you perform well, I can grant you the status of free orcs; if you don't perform well, you'll remain my beast slaves forever."

The status of a free orc means shedding the status of being a slave from birth, escaping a lifetime of being kept in captivity, and being able to marry and live freely.

"What do you mean by 'good performance'?" Rong Fei asked softly.

Jiang Mian turned her head to look at him, her starry eyes serene and beautiful: "Be good to me."

Rong Fei's gaze met the girl's calm and tolerant eyes. A strange feeling flashed through his heart. His silver eyes flickered slightly, his thin lips curved slightly, and his eyebrows arched: "Alright, Master."

"Just call me by my name from now on." Jiang Mian glanced at him and then looked away.

"Is this yet another trick to get us to curry favor with you?" Li Yan sneered. "This time, the methods are much more sophisticated."

The original owner's beastmen were all extremely rebellious and treated her badly. The original owner held back from giving the order to have the chips in their brains explode, probably because she knew that if she went to the exile planet alone without the protection of a few beast slaves, she would probably die even faster.

One side knew that the original owner dared not kill them, so they acted with impunity. The other side knew that if they died, these beast slaves would also be buried with them, so they tortured the beastmen with impunity.

Jiang Mian understood the sarcasm in Li Yan's words and knew that Li Yan was definitely not the only one who thought this way; the other beast slaves must have thought the same.

She continued slowly, "I've laid out the rules here. Whether you're willing to try is up to you."

Several orcs, upon hearing her words, pondered the veracity of her statement.

Chi Lin smiled radiantly: "Sister, but I want to be your slave forever."

Jiang Mian had already automatically ignored his words; not a single word he uttered was sincere.

"Now I have the second thing to say," Jiang Mian said slowly. "We still have half a month before we reach the Exile Star, but we've run out of food."

She spoke this last sentence a little slower, as if she knew that she had used it up so quickly because she had spent so much on it, and perhaps she was a little embarrassed.

Rong Fei, standing to the side, quietly watched Jiang Mian, curious to see how she would resolve the situation.

This exiled starship is sealed off and will only open upon arrival at its destination, so items purchased through the StarNet cannot be delivered until then.

“I don’t have a single nutrient solution left on me,” Li Yan said quietly, his cold black eyes fixed on Jiang Mian. “You’ve taken all the nutrient solutions.”

Jiang Mian did indeed take all the nutrient solutions from the beast slaves. When she transmigrated, there were only ten nutrient solutions left in the original owner's room.

But last night she gave five more to Lin Yu, and he crushed them and wasted them, so there were only five left, and she felt a little heartache.

Jiang Mian glanced at Lin Yu as she thought about it, and the other person seemed to sense it and looked at her as well. One of his long, narrow red eyes was half-closed, and when he looked at people, he was always full of cold and weary indifference.

She silently looked away, not asking about the nutrient solution, but instead inquiring, "Does anyone here have any seeds?"

If she's not available, there are other options.

"No," Li Yan replied directly.

Jiang Mian glanced at him, and the man's dark eyes were also fixed on her. His high brow bone was pierced with a row of red nails, making him look extremely arrogant and rebellious.

She twitched her lips but didn't say anything. She sensed that the other person's tone was unfriendly, so she silently looked away.

"Sister, I don't have any grain seeds, but I do have seeds of cloud roses," Chi Lin said with a smile. "Would you like some, sister?"

"Okay." Jiang Mian nodded. "Give it to me later."

The cloud rose blooms once a week, and edible nutrients can be extracted from the mature flowers. "Okay, sister," Chi Lin replied obediently, then blinked her peach-blossom eyes and asked, "Sister, did I do well?"

"Hmm, not bad, keep it up." Jiang Mian nodded.

Rong Fei slowly spoke up, "I also have a few ornamental potted plants in my room. I'll bring them to you later."

He considered one possibility, but he wasn't sure yet: did this woman really have the ability to extract the nutrients?

"Bring them all here." Jiang Mian nodded.

She looked at Lin Yu and Zhao Ci, who had been quiet all along: "Lin Yu, Zhao Ci, bring me all the potted plants from your rooms too."

Lin Yu is indeed taciturn, but Zhao Ci probably doesn't want to pay any attention to Jiang Mian at all.

Jiang Mian even suspected that Zhao Ci hadn't listened to her at all.

She had already named them by name, but the two of them remained silent and ignored her.

Jiang Mian:......

Rong Fei's gentle voice broke the awkward silence: "Everything on this starship belongs to Mianmian. If Mianmian wants anything later, I'll go with you to get it."

Jiang Mian paused, turned her head to look at Rong Fei, smiled slightly, and nodded: "Okay."

She thought there was a reason why Rong Feishao was beaten; look how good he was at handling people!
However, it felt strange that he was not allowed to call her "master" but instead called her "Mianmian." She felt that their relationship was not close enough for him to call her "Mianmian."

Jiang Mian didn't say anything; it was no big deal to fuss over such a trivial matter as how to address someone.

"Alright, Rong Fei, come with me. The rest of you can do as you please." Jiang Mian stood up from the sofa, grabbed Rong Fei's wrist, pulled him up, and headed towards the various orcs' rooms. She glanced back at Rong Fei and said, "Let's go now."

When Rong Fei saw Jiang Mian holding his hand, a flicker of disgust, almost like a germaphobe, flashed through his mind.

But when Jiang Mian turned to look at him, his expression was extremely calm. When he saw Jiang Mian looking over, he even nodded gently: "Okay."

Jiang Mian likes people with stable emotions, and they are comfortable to communicate with.

The other party shouldn't have turned into the beast lord who later went on a rampage and slaughtered humans yet.

The two of them walked to the other orcs' rooms and started moving potted plants.

Chi Lin's beautiful, deep blue eyes, shrouded in a thin mist, held an unreadable expression.

A moment later, he caught up with her, his voice bright and cheerful: "Sister, let me help you carry it too."

Jiang Mian glanced at him sideways and nodded: "Okay."

The three orcs still in the hall had inscrutable expressions.

Zhao Ci glanced at Jiang Mian's departing figure and gave a mocking sneer.

It's good that that disgusting woman doesn't bother him anymore.

Who cares what kind of trouble she's up to, as long as she doesn't annoy him.
