Chapter 144 Get Closer to Him
Song Yi thought Jiang Lanye couldn't sleep, but unexpectedly, after Jiang Lanye pulled her into his arms, he quickly fell asleep again.

Song Yi opened her eyes and looked at him.

When Jiang Lanye was asleep, he was less domineering and oppressive. His eyes were closed peacefully, and his eyelashes drooped obediently.

Before Jiang Lanye recognized him as Consort Yun, every time he slept, it was a form of punishment for him.

Song Yi snuggled gently in his arms, found a comfortable position, and fell asleep.

Song Yi always felt that Jiang Lanye was only a light sleeper, because he could wake up precisely before the scheduled time.

As darkness fell outside, Jiang Lanye, having slept soundly and finally feeling some relief from his fatigue, saw that Song Yi's face was almost completely buried in the blanket. He quickly pulled the blanket down further and softly called out:

"Yiyi, get up."

In her dazed state, Song Yi raised her limp arm and unceremoniously covered his mouth with her hand.

"I told you not to call me that."

Jiang Lanye smiled without saying a word, but simply kissed her palm.

Song Yi felt a tickle, a hint of a smile appeared in the corner of her eye, and she quickly withdrew her hand, turning her back to him.

Seeing this, Jiang Lanye wrapped his arms around her waist and whispered in her ear:
"Don't shout anymore, don't be angry."

Song Yi chuckled softly, sat up, touched her hair (it wasn't too messy), and immediately said:
"let's go."

"By the way, where is the military camp?"

Jiang Lanye got up, helped her put on her shoes, and said, "It's not far. It's just a few miles outside the city. I'll take you there on horseback."

The mere mention of horseback riding sent shivers down Song Yi's spine; the redness on her inner thigh had only just faded.

Jiang Lanye noticed her hesitation and said in a low voice, "This time we'll put a soft cushion in front. Let's go."

Upon hearing that Jiang Lanye wanted to take her away, Song Yi glanced at him and deliberately asked with a smile, "Jiang Lanye, why do you want to take me out this time? Judging from your previous personality, you probably would have left me in the room with someone watching over me, making me obediently wait for you to come back."

Just as Jiang Lanye was about to stand up, upon hearing her words, he leaned down slightly and moved closer.

Their noses almost touched. They were so close that Song Yi could see a small shadow cast by Jiang Lanye's eyelashes under his eyes. His eyes were deep, like ink that could not be dissolved, yet they also carried a hint of mockery.

"Because I can't live without you, what can I do?"

Song Yi pushed him away, stammering, "Then let's go together."

After saying that, she fled to the door and quickly pushed it open.

Song Yi had already gotten up, but he remained in the same position, sniffing the lingering fragrance left by Song Yi. He slowly straightened up and said, "Let's go."

Outside the door, the horses were already prepared. Song Yi glanced at them and felt a little apprehensive.

This horse was clearly larger than the last one, with muscular physiques and exceptionally powerful legs.

Jiang Lanye stood behind Song Yi and asked, "Shall I carry you up?"

".good."

Jiang Lanye chuckled softly, grabbed her waist, and together with Song Yi, they soared into the air.

His arms were exceptionally firm, as hard as iron, which reassured Song Yi. After he sat down, the horse suddenly stamped its hooves impatiently and made a heavy snorting sound, causing Song Yi to flinch again.

Jiang Lanye gripped the reins, his voice whispering in her ear: "If you're afraid, just stay close to me."

Song Yi was practically nestled in his arms. Just as she was about to speak, the horse galloped away.

The familiar cold wind rushed towards her again, but this time, for some reason, Song Yi was no longer afraid. Watching the people and objects around her flash by, she realized how fast she was moving, and her eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Jiang Lanye—I'm really not afraid anymore!" Her skirt fluttered in the wind, and she couldn't help but lean forward.

Jiang Lanye noticed she had moved a little further away from him and was slightly annoyed. He subtly spurred his horse, instantly making it run even faster. Song Yi hurriedly hid back, clinging tightly to him, belatedly realizing what had happened.
"Jiang Lanye, are you doing this on purpose?"

He chuckled softly, the vibrations in his chest transmitting to Song Yi.

"Come closer, or I'm afraid you'll fall."

Song Yi moved her lips, but ultimately said nothing, and leaned close to him with a sense of peace.

The two moved extremely fast, exiting the city gate and speeding along the path. Before long, they saw a clearing in the distance with several military tents firmly standing on the ground, and bonfires burning brightly all around.

Jiang Lanye reined in his horse, dismounted first, then opened his arms, looked at Song Yi sitting on it, and said, "Get down."

Song Yi gave a soft hum and didn't move.

Seeing that she was actually throwing a tantrum, Jiang Lanye said helplessly, "I know I was wrong."

Song Yi then went down and was held tightly in his arms.

After they regained their footing, soldiers quickly came and led the two to the central military camp.

At this moment, the general who was encamped here immediately stood up and stepped forward to greet him respectfully:

"Your Majesty's arrival is an honor I have failed to do!"

Jiang Lanye raised her hand and stopped his arm, saying, "No need for formalities."

Many military reports have been sent here, including two confidential letters. The general has not opened them yet, waiting for Jiang Lanye to come and read them together.

Song Yi noticed the military memorials piled up on the table and suddenly recalled that when he was in the Golden Palace, although there were not as many memorials here as in the capital, each one had to be carefully read and then carefully considered before responding.

The general glanced at Song Yi and said respectfully, "Your Majesty, please sit down. You may sit in either of these seats."

Song Yi responded.

Jiang Lanye looked at her and softly instructed, "I need to be busy for a while. Just sit here and don't wander around. If you need to leave..."

"I must tell you that."

Song Yi couldn't help but blurt out, "I can recite all those sentences over and over."

He hadn't expected His Majesty and the Imperial Concubine to interact like this in private, so he quickly asked, "Have Your Majesty and the Imperial Concubine had their meal? If you don't mind, I'll have someone bring in your dinner right away."

Jiang Lanye wasn't hungry, but he was worried that Song Yi might be, so he nodded.

The military tent was exceptionally large, with a small table at the front and small tables and cushions on both sides. Song Yi looked around and casually chose one to sit down.

Jiang Lanye glanced at her and said quietly, "Now you all want to stay this far away from me?"

Song Yi: "."

She had no choice but to move to the front table, which was closest to the upper desk.

She found that Jiang Lanye was often unreasonable, and she couldn't reason with him.

Jiang Lanye was satisfied and opened the two secret letters to read them.

The tent was brightly lit by candles, so bright it was almost blinding.

The steaming hot food was served, and Song Yi decided not to wait for him any longer.
She ate very quietly and in small amounts. At the end, she drank a cup of hot tea with satisfaction, patted her lower abdomen, and stood up.
