Chapter 107 A Suitcase
At 2 a.m., a bus from Shanghai stopped at the gate of Huicheng Public Security Bureau.

The driver got out of the car and went inside to call the police, and the passengers followed closely behind, taking the six kidnapped robbers inside as well.

The police officer on duty was stunned.

After realizing what had happened, I immediately contacted the colleague on duty to find out what had occurred.

The robbers were all injured, as were the passengers on the bus.

However, the passenger's wounds have been treated and it appears there are no major problems.

The robber who was knocked unconscious, however, seemed to be in rather serious condition.

The on-duty police officer quickly contacted the county hospital and urgently reported to his superiors, requesting additional manpower to send some to the hospital and others to be detained for interrogation.

After a brief period of chaos, things finally got back on track.

As the ringleaders of this incident, Gao Qinghe and Huang Yanqiu were the first to be interrogated.

The two were questioned separately in two separate interrogation rooms.

The two men told the truth, and with the driver and other passengers as witnesses, their actions were ultimately classified as acts of bravery and legitimate self-defense.

At 3:30 a.m., the two returned to the hotel in a police car, quickly washed up, and went straight to sleep.

The next morning, after waking up, the two looked at each other and got up to get ready as if nothing had happened.

After going downstairs for breakfast, Gao Qinghe called Jiang Baohai as usual.

The person on the other end asked her, "Why aren't you back yet? When are you coming back? Are you ever coming back at all?"

Gao Qinghe yawned lazily, "I'll be back soon. I'll be back after I finish this last job."

You'd think she was up to something earth-shattering if you didn't know better.

Jiang Baohai was about to say a few more words when the phone was abruptly hung up.

Because Gao Qinghe's phone calls never last more than a minute.

Although she did what she promised, she called herself every day.

But every time Jiang Baohai heard the "beep beep" sound from the phone, he still had the urge to climb to the other end of the phone line, pin the person against the wall, and yell, "I'll pay your phone bill, can you talk for two more minutes?!"

Gao Qinghe didn't care what the men in her family thought.

After calculating the time, I realized my younger sister was about to take her high school entrance exam, so I called the newsstand on the pedestrian street again.

Ask the newsstand owner to call Gao Qingmiao to answer the phone and find out about her family situation.

The siblings exchanged a few words and Gao Qinghe was relieved to know that everything was alright at home.

After she finished her business, Huang Yanqiu also came out of the post office.

Zheng Laowu went to the Gao family several times to inquire, and Gao Chongyi had no choice but to help contact his daughter to ask about Huang Yanqiu's situation.

Fearing trouble over there, Huang Yanqiu sent two hundred yuan back home last month.

I just went to the post office to send this month's money.

It's a little less than last time, only 150 yuan, so as not to make the Zheng family think that money is easy to earn outside.

To be honest, if it weren't for keeping the Zheng family from causing trouble, Gao Qinghe wouldn't have wanted Huang Yanqiu to send back a single penny.

However, this 150 yuan was enough for the Zheng family to boast in the village that they had married a capable daughter-in-law.

It's good that the money is back; it means the person didn't run away, but actually went to make money.

Although Zheng Laowu regretted letting his wife go out, the emptiness, loneliness, and coldness of the night were instantly filled when he saw the money.

After settling things at home, Gao Qinghe and her husband continued collecting government bonds.

I went to four different banks before I was able to buy 300,000 yuan worth of government bonds.

The local people have almost sold out of the government bonds they held.

After squeezing every last drop of profit from one place, they move on to the next.

Throughout June, the two traveled between various locations and Shanghai.

Before I knew it, I had more than 960,000 yuan in my hands.

Their backpacks couldn't hold all the money, so Gao Qinghe specially bought a wheeled suitcase, which could just fill the whole box. With such frequent transactions and such a huge total amount, the Shanghai authorities finally couldn't resist and invited the two, who had just received a large box of government bonds and looked travel-worn, to the bureau for tea at the train station platform.

Practice makes perfect; I experienced that once before at the train station.

This time, the two appeared even more composed.

During this time, the train carriage became their home, and they spent more time on the carriage floor than on solid ground.

Having been busy for a long time, neither of them had time to take care of themselves, and both of them looked disheveled and their clothes were in disarray.

Coupled with Huang Yanqiu's unruly "You're going to die, Mom!" look, it's hard not to suspect them.

The temperature in mid-July was so hot it made you want to die.

Sweat kept pouring from my forehead and neck, sticking to my hair, and no amount of wiping with a dry towel could make me feel better.

Gao Qinghe noticed a washbasin stand by the door and tentatively asked:
Can I get a basin of water to wash my face?

There were two staff members in total; one of them was checking her and Huang Yanqiu's household registration information.

Another person opened a suitcase full of government bonds and laid them out on the table, filling the entire table.

Upon hearing Gao Qinghe's question, one of them nodded and called a colleague outside to fetch a basin of cold water.

"Thank you." Gao Qinghe was extremely grateful.

The water was brought quickly. Gao Qinghe took out her towel, wet it, wrung it out, and washed her face in front of the mirror on the washbasin stand.

He then took off the hat covering his head and used his fingers as a comb to tidy his hair.

After tidying himself up, he asked Huang Yanqiu to come over and tidy up her appearance as well.

Huang Yanqiu was pleasantly surprised to find that she had become fairer and plumper, and that her skinny appearance had completely disappeared.

Her eyes are now bright and alert, her cheeks are full, and when she smiles, she has two small dimples.

When she turned around, the two staff members were stunned by the large difference between her front and back.

This is not finished.

Gao Qinghe also turned around, her face so beautiful it could make all the flowers pale in comparison, stunning the entire month of July.

Next, Gao Qinghe spent two whole hours explaining to the bank's supervisor how she had made huge profits over the past three months by taking advantage of information asymmetry in different locations.

Having already made so much money, Gao Qinghe was ready to stop, so she didn't care about revealing this secret.

The staff and supervisors were both shocked and impressed after hearing her words.

I was also a little envious, jealous, and resentful.

Why didn't they notice this price difference in different locations?

Gao Qinghe was sincere and said, "I am willing to pay taxes as they are due. You can provide a charter, and the amount will be the amount I pay. I will absolutely not take a single penny that does not belong to me."

"I have only one request: please do not disclose our personal information and keep it confidential for now."

The regulator, who was preparing to have a reporter come and cover the story, had to regretfully withdraw his idea upon hearing this.

He called his superiors to inquire about the situation.

After a while, he told Gao Qinghe, "You can leave now."

"No need to pay taxes?" Gao Qinghe asked in surprise.

The other party nodded, "There are no relevant policies yet, so it's not necessary."

As she spoke, she looked at the newly refilled suitcase and asked, "Are you planning to exchange these government bonds?"

Gao Qinghe nodded.

He then asked them to go to the bank with him, where they witnessed the exchange process firsthand.

One million, eleven thousand nine thousand eight hundred and thirteen yuan.

One suitcase is just enough to hold it all.
