Chapter 5: Continuing to Pick Up Big Deals

"Can I eat it?"

Yun Jiao asked expectantly.

Several older brothers:…………

"Not now, it doesn't taste good raw."

Yun Jiao gave a regretful "oh," but before Yun Xiaowu and the others could notice, she quickly took a bite out of the lobster's tail.

"Click..."

Yun Xiaowu: "!!!"

“Jiaojiao can’t eat this. We’ll have Grandma cook it for her when we get back.”

Yun Jiao spat out the small piece of tail from her mouth: "Oh, I understand."

That sounds well-behaved.

“Let’s go see if there are any more. Little sister, you put that lobster in the bucket first, and hold your brother’s hand so you don’t fall.”

Despite his excitement, Yun Xiaowu was still worried about Yun Jiao's safety.

"Fifth Brother, there's more! There's also Little Azure Dragon here!"

Yun Xiaoqi laughed heartily as she grabbed a small green dragon.

"Brother, there are some here too."

In an instant, the Yun brothers were overjoyed and excitedly grabbed the little green dragon and put it into the bucket.

Yun Jiao is also being apprehended.

The three of them, plus the one Yun Jiao had caught earlier, made a total of five small green dragons.

"Hahaha...we've struck it rich!"

Everyone was so happy they were grinning from ear to ear.

Yun Jiao was also infected by the beauty; her eyes sparkled and curved, making her look incredibly beautiful.

"Let's go, let's continue and see if there are any other seafood."

They continued walking forward, finding no goods in the first few puddles, but then heard sounds again behind them.

"What is it? What is it? Is it the little green dragon?"

Yun Xiaoqi asked impatiently.

Yun Jiao's childish voice rang out: "No, it's two fish."

"Jiaojiao, can you see me?"

Yun Jiao nodded: "Yes, I can see it."

"Wow... Jiaojiao, you can't really be the little fairy that the Dragon King sent to our family, can you?"

"My sister is amazing! She led us to the big cargo!"

Yun Xiaowu held Yun Jiao's hand: "Let's not talk about it now, let's go and see what kind of fish it is."

Upon closer inspection, the fish in the puddle were brightly colored, and their outlines could be clearly seen even in the dark cave.

Yun Xiaoqi: "It's a red fish!"

"Red? Red snapper, red snapper, or bigeye snapper?"

After guessing several different kinds of fish, Yun Xiaowu laughed and said, "Could it be a grouper?!"

Despite his young age, he knows a lot about fish.

"Arrest him immediately!"

It's too dark inside the cave to see clearly, so let's wait until we get outside.

The fish was still alive, so he caught it and threw it directly into the bucket.

Yun Jiao pointed to the puddle: "There's more."

There was also a large brown fish inside. Its color was not as bright and eye-catching as that of the grouper. It was hidden among the rocks at the bottom of the puddle and could not be seen at all if you were not paying attention.

"It looks like a tiger grouper."

Yun Xiaowu rolled up his sleeves: "I'll do it."

"Brother, be careful."

As soon as Yun Xiaowu stepped into the puddle, the seawater was already up to his waist.

The tiger in the puddle sensed danger and began to flee frantically.

Yun Jiao suddenly spoke up: "The left side."

Yun Xiaowu instinctively reached to the left and grabbed the tiger's big mouth.

"Holy crap, it's huge! Hahaha... This tiger grouper must weigh at least six or seven pounds if I hold it!"

Yun Xiaowu was strong, but he almost lost his grip on the fish and fell to the ground.

The weight isn't too bad, but the main problem is that the fish is alive, so it gets even heavier when it's thrashing around.

"Hurry, hurry, throw it up here."

The tiger-spotted tiger was still struggling, and Yun Xiaowu almost lost his balance.

He threw the fish ashore with all his might, panting heavily. Luckily, it was in a puddle; if he had caught such a big fish in the sea with a fishing rod, he wouldn't have been able to pull it up with his small frame.

"We've been incredibly lucky today."

"Let's not go any further. Let's go back quickly. If the high tide floods this place, we'll be in big trouble."

They've had such a big haul today, they can barely carry it all.

Yun Jiao wanted to help, but none of the three brothers wanted to tire her out.

"Jiaojiao, this is a bit heavy. You can just come with us."

Yun Jiao wiggled her short legs to follow behind her brothers, her little voice earnest.

"I'm strong."

"Brother, give me some."

Yun Xiaowu struggled to hold onto the tiger-striped tiger all by himself.

The buckets were filled with the little green dragon and that red fish.

The little green dragon had such long legs that it could barely fit a few in one bucket, taking up two buckets in total.

They only took three buckets; the other bucket contained the red fish, which Tiger Spotted Cloud Xiao Wu had to carry out by hand.

At Yun Jiao's insistence, they handed the smallest one, the one Yun Jiao had taken a bite out of, to the little girl.

"Little sister, be careful."

Yun Jiao nodded, holding the little green dragon.

The big guy was very well-behaved in her arms, not making a fuss at all.

The little dragon, weighing just over two pounds, wasn't too heavy for her to hold.

The tide came in shortly after they left the cave.

Looking at the red fish in the bucket, he laughed even harder.

"Hahaha... It's Eastern Star Spotted! We're rich! We've made way more money on this trip than Dad and the others have!"

That grouper was quite large; it must have weighed at least three pounds.

Yun Jiao glanced at it, regretting that she couldn't eat the fish since it was going to be sold; the fish meat was quite delicious.

When will she be able to go into the sea and catch seafood for herself?

The East Star Grouper is a relatively rare fish; even ocean-going vessels may not be able to catch it. The price of this fish at the local purchasing points has always been quite high.

With their bountiful harvest, the children grinned from ear to ear, striding confidently with the strides of generals despite their short legs.

Although my family repeatedly told me not to flaunt my wealth.

But Yun Xiaowu and the others were all children, and it was impossible for them not to show off after suddenly finding so much good stuff.

So the children, including Yun Jiao, strolled confidently along the beach, carrying the little green dragon.

This is something that can't be hidden.

Those who had come to collect seafood and hadn't left yet stared wide-eyed when they saw it.

"My mother!"

"Oh my god, that...that's such a huge tiger stripe!"

"And there's the little Azure Dragon! That little girl from the Yun family is holding such a big little Azure Dragon!"

The people on the beach stopped going beachcombing and all gathered around the children.

"Holy crap! There are several little green dragons in this bucket!"

"Where did you find Xiao Wu?"

A group of people were green with envy; how much would all of these cost?

Yun Xiaowu stood tall and proud: "I found it over there. When we went there, all the fish were trapped in the puddle. I also found the little green dragon over there."

He certainly wouldn't be foolish enough to reveal the cave.

"This...this is a giant grouper, right? It's huge!!!"

The Eastern Star Grouper is very beautiful, with a festive red body covered in light blue spots.

This fish is also considered relatively expensive, not only because it looks good, but more importantly because its flesh is tender and nutritious.

Grouper is a deep-sea fish, so it's really lucky to encounter one while beachcombing.

"You guys are so lucky!"

"Where did you catch this? Why don't I have such good luck?"

"You've only been out for a short time and you've already found so many rare finds. This trip has earned you more than those fishing boats that go out to sea."

Although there aren't many, each one is a rare and valuable item, and they look quite heavy.

The luck of these kids has made the adults around them green with envy.

But no matter how envious they are, they would never take things from children.

So Yun Xiaowu and his friends went home with their heads held high and their harvest for the day.

Prices for seafood from the 1980s were extremely difficult to find, so some of the prices I listed are based on guesswork. I'll correct any inaccuracies later.
