Chapter 1 The Miss in Distress

Chapter 1 The Miss in Distress

"Miss, run! Run!"

The maid's cries still seemed to echo in Yang Luo's ears, but Yang Luo knew that the maid was dead.

Although the maid was a few years older and taller than her, she would be no match for the bandits' swords.

But the maidservant still turned around and ran away without hesitation.

"Miss, I'll hold them off, you run!"

Yang Luo's face was covered in tears.

She ran and ran.

In the pitch-black night, lightning flashed and thunder roared, and torrential rain poured down.

The rain felt like pebbles hitting my body.

In the dense forest, withered branches and tangled trees resembled swords and knives.

Yang Luo kept falling down.

It felt like a nightmare.

During the day, she would whine to her mother that her clothes were too small, and her mother would have the servants bring out all kinds of fabrics for her to choose from, and would even take her measurements herself.

“Our Luoluo is growing up so fast. When she turns fifteen next year, we’ll light a hundred lanterns and set off fireworks to celebrate.”

Then, in the middle of the night, my mother pulled me out of my sleep and pushed me out the door.

"Luo Luo, hurry and report to the authorities, hurry and report to the authorities."

"Luo Luo, you must live, live on."

She was carried by her servants onto horseback, and when she looked back, she saw her house engulfed in flames and countless flaming arrows flying everywhere.

Although she ran out of the house, the bandits surrounded her.

As they sped away, a dozen or so men with bows and arrows came after them, shouting and shooting arrows.

Her servants fell one by one until all the servants protecting her died, and her horse was hit by an arrow and fell. She was then pushed into the mountains by her only remaining maid.

He intended to hide, but the bandits still caught up with him.

To buy time, the maid rushed out to stop the bandits.

In her panic, she stumbled into a thicket of jagged bushes, her soaking wet clothes clinging to her body and tearing easily.

Yang Luo screamed and fell to her knees, tumbling to the side.

The ground shook, and the noise in the heavy rain grew closer.

"Chase--"

"Right here, you can't escape!"

The bandits are catching up.

She couldn't run anymore, and she didn't want to run anymore; rain and tears streamed down her face.

Mother is dead.

Can she still live? She doesn't want to live anymore.

But then, her mother's voice rang in her ears.

"Luo Luo, live on, you must live."

No, she can't die like this. She has to live and avenge her mother.

Yang Luo struggled to get up, gritted his teeth and crawled into the bushes. He crawled and crawled, passed through the bushes, and then ran forward.

But after running a few steps, with a whoosh, an arrow landed behind her and pierced through the hem of her skirt.

Yang Luo let out a scream and fell to the ground.

A strange scream came from behind: "Found it—"

Yang Luo hurriedly crawled forward, even though her clothes were torn, but flames had already lit up behind her.

"That little brat is here—"

"Wow, she's quite fair-skinned—"

Her body was covered in bruises, scrapes, and cuts, from which blood seeped through her disheveled and torn clothes, making her snow-white skin appear even more striking.

Yang Luo was already fourteen years old. Although he rarely left the house, he had overheard the maids gossiping about which family in the village had been robbed by bandits and which family's daughter had been harmed.

She couldn't. Even if it meant death, she couldn't bear to be humiliated by these bandits.

Yang Luo grabbed a dry branch from the ground and turned to face the pursuing bandits.

Under the torchlight, four or five people could be seen approaching.

The four or five men also saw the little girl clutching the withered branch. The little girl was probably trying to look fierce, but to the vicious bandits, it was simply comical.

They burst into laughter, "This girl is pretty fierce."

A bandit grinned maliciously and stopped the others from shooting arrows.

“I’ll go, I’ll go, I’ll go and have a go at this little lady,” he said, then let out a lewd laugh. “I’d be happy to be pricked by this little lady.”

The other bandits laughed strangely, and sure enough, they put down their weapons and watched as the bandit took a step forward alone.

“Young lady, come here.” The bandit pointed to his heart. “Stab me here.”

Tears blurred Yang Luo's vision. She knew that the tree branch she held in her hand could not kill the bandit, but if she could rush over, snatch the bandit's knife, and kill her, that would be fine too.

She screamed and lunged forward, gripping the branch, but the wind was faster than her.

It brushed past my ear with a soft "plop".

A muffled groan followed a moment later.

The world seemed to fall silent.

The bandit, chest puffed out, looked down in disbelief at the branch piercing his heart. Not only piercing it, but the bandits behind him could see that the branch had also penetrated his body, with blood dripping from it.

The tree branch could actually pierce his chest! That was the bandit's last thought. The next moment, he spat out a mouthful of blood, collapsed to the ground, convulsed, and died.

The other bandits finally realized what was happening.

"what!"

"There are accomplices!"

"Kill her quickly!"

With shouts, the bandits tried to draw their bows and shoot at Yang Luo, but they were too late. More tree branches flew from behind Yang Luo, and several bandits fell to the ground.

what happened?

Yang Luo was holding the tree branch in a daze when someone grabbed her from behind.

"Walk--"

She was pulled hard and stumbled to the side, with more bandits catching up behind her who had been a few steps behind.

"Chase--"

"Release the arrows—"

The firelight flickered, arrows flew wildly, and the branch in Yang Luo's hand fell. The force pulling on it was so great that she almost flew up, and then she really did.

It is falling.

She was lifted up by someone and her body was suspended in mid-air.

Yang Luo screamed and instinctively grabbed the person holding her as they fell off a cliff in the pouring rain.

There was still a commotion overhead, with the sounds of swords and weapons growing louder.

“…Who is it!”

"There are accomplices!"

"Leave no one alive!"

"Kill them!"

The shouts of battle did not subside as they fell; instead, they grew even louder.

Instead of crashing straight down the cliff like rain, Yang Luo was slammed against the cliff face the moment he fell.

Her feet were still dangling in the air, and her hands instinctively clung tightly to someone.

A scream came from above, and another person fell down, along with the torch in that person's hand.

By the light of the fire that streaked across the ground as they fell, Yang Luo saw the person he was holding. It was a face covered in soot and a pair of dark, indifferent eyes.

The nightmare that night had exhausted her mind and strength. Looking into those eyes, Yang Luo could no longer hold on and fainted.

……

.......
The rain was torrential, the dense raindrops cascading down and washing away the rocks on the cliff face, making them seem precarious and about to collapse.

Mo Zheng held the unconscious girl in his arms with one hand and gripped the iron sword embedded in the cliff with the other, as if he had become one with the cliff face, remaining motionless despite the heavy rain.

The sounds of fighting overhead gradually subsided, and firelight flickered and shone above. The next moment, several torches were thrown down, falling to the bottom of the cliff, where they ignited and illuminated the jagged rocks and the twisted and broken corpses that had just fallen.

The almost inaudible footsteps overhead faded into the distance, the torches were extinguished by the rain at the foot of the cliff, and silence returned to the world.

Mo Zheng drew his iron sword, and fell again, disappearing into the heavy rain with the sound of metal clashing against stone.

Long time no see, good morning my friends!!
