Chapter 66 Revenge
squeak.

The back door was pushed open, and a figure emerged from the darkness behind it.

Amidst the shocked gazes of the others, Wang Liang strode out from behind the door with a blank expression and quickly approached the rotting corpse in front of Zhou Kun.

“There’s something supernatural happening near the photo I left in the village. A vengeful ghost is in the village right now. The sound of the ghost bell can’t travel that far, so it won’t attract us. We have to get there immediately.”

Ignoring the ghost-like expressions on Zhou Kun and the others' faces, Wang Liang continued talking and doing.

He removed the backpack from the corpse, put it back on his own, and took out the ghost bell and other items from the corpse's clothing pocket, putting them in the pocket of his current coat.

"This test is enough. I am confident enough to fight it one last time before it wipes out the village. We must imprison it."

Wang Liang walked towards Li Lengmei's body, pulled out the coffin nail from her forehead, and held it in his hand.

"This vengeful ghost is very special, and this village seems to treat it very differently as well. This might be why it just let you go and went down to the village to kill people first. We need to act quickly to avoid any new unknown changes after it wipes out the village."

Wang Liang bent down and reached out to pick up the white ghost candle that had fallen to the ground.

But the moment the hand touched the white ghost candle, it shattered into tiny fragments on the ground.

Wang Liang shook his head, picked them up, and threw them all into his backpack.

After quickly finishing all this, Wang Liang immediately ran downhill without looking back, saying:
"What are you all standing there for? Stop standing around, go down the mountain and take that old man with you. He might be bait, the final bait. We'll imprison that ghost tonight!"

Ah, oh.

Zhou Kun replied blankly, then subconsciously walked over and helped the hunchbacked old man up.

After realizing what had happened, he tossed the unconscious hunchbacked old man to the three messengers who were also following along in a daze, and then went ahead to follow Wang Liang.

Fang Rui caught the hunchbacked old man, glanced at the unconscious old man in his arms, and then looked at the two people striding down the mountain ahead.

He couldn't help but slap himself.

"It's not a dream, it must be a ghost."

“It was a ghost, just now,” Lü Huizhen hesitated before speaking hesitantly.

Chang Feng's face was stiff. His gaze lingered between the rotting corpse on the ground and Wang Liang's back in front of him. Incredulity filled his eyes, and he finally couldn't help but swear.

"Holy crap, what the hell is that ability?!"

He had more knowledge and experience than Fang Rui and Lü Huizhen, and he understood better how powerful and rare a ghost tamer could be.

How is this any different from being brought back to life?
Which parts are true and which are false?!

A female ghost filled with resentment, her black, corrosive blood, resurrected from the dead.

Just how many vengeful ghosts has this man named Wang Liang controlled?
"Let's go quickly, lest we get into trouble. Fang Rui, remember to take good care of this old man," Lü Huizhen urged.

Recovering from their shock, the three messengers, along with an unconscious old man, quickly followed and descended the mountain.

The temperature in Wangshan Village was very low tonight, and the air was thick with a chilly atmosphere. The cold wind was blowing, making it feel cold and unsettling, and one could not feel that it was summer at all.

Many villagers who were still asleep subconsciously frowned, tightened their thin blankets, and felt the chill in the air.

In the village's dry well, several mutilated corpses lay at the cold bottom.

At that moment, one of the corpses trembled slightly, but immediately returned to calm, making it seem as if the tremor was just an illusion.

But the next second, the rotting corpse suddenly opened its only cloudy eyeball. The eyeball in the other eye had long since disappeared, leaving only a hideous black hole covered in dried blood.

The body swayed as it rose, dressed in tattered mountaineering clothes. Extensive areas of its body were decomposed; one arm was missing, and half of its face was so decayed that the bone was visible. However, the remaining half of its face, still relatively intact and marked with lividity, revealed that it belonged to a woman.

The woman's body rapidly faded, blending into the air and disappearing into the cold bottom of the well.

After the female corpse disappeared, a one-inch photo at the bottom of the well trembled. The eyes of the person in the photo flickered strangely before returning to calm.

In the master bedroom of Old Li's house in the village, a rotting female corpse emerged from the air and stood silently in front of the bed where the couple was sleeping.

The stench of death intensified, a chilling atmosphere permeated the air, and the surrounding temperature felt as if it were about to freeze.

Li An frowned on the bed and groggily opened his sleepy eyes.

Because it was summer, he and his wife were covered with thin blankets, but he obviously couldn't sleep because of the cold and was inexplicably woken up by the cold.

He also smelled a nauseating stench, making it even harder to fall asleep.

Ang Lee sat up, exhaled a breath, rubbed his palms together, and looked around in a daze.

He found that the night was darker than usual. The pale moonlight streaming in through the window shrouded the room in darkness, making visibility extremely poor. He could only make out blurry black outlines.

Ang Lee wanted to get out of bed to get a thick blanket from the closet, but suddenly he stopped and realized something was wrong.

He noticed a dark figure standing silently a few steps away from the bed.

But when did he put things so close to the outside of the bed? That place should be empty, otherwise it would be easy to bump into it when getting out of bed.

Moreover, the black outline didn't look like an object, but rather like a...
A human figure!

Li An was startled awake, all sleepiness vanished.

"Who?!" Li An's voice cracked with fright.

His panicked shouts woke the woman sleeping next to him. She rubbed her eyes and looked at Li An, who had sat up beside her.

"Honey, what's wrong? I'm so cold. Oh, what's that? Ahh! Uh..."

The woman then noticed the eerie black silhouette outside the bed. Terrified, she screamed shrilly, but the sound stopped abruptly, and she didn't know what had happened.

In the darkness, Li An didn't have time to check on the person next to him. He frantically reached for the top of the bedside table, trying to press the lamp button to light up the room and see which bastard was scaring people in the middle of the night.

Da da da.

The button was pressed several times, but no light came on, as if there was a power outage. This made Ang Lee more and more flustered, his sense of unease intensified, and fear rose within him.

"Damn it, why is the power going out now?"

Ang Lee stopped trying to turn on the lamp, grabbed his phone from beside his pillow, and scooted closer to the inside of the bed, trying to get away from the dark figure that was always standing silently outside the bed, but his body bumped into the woman's body.

The woman's body was cold, and the two were in direct contact with each other while wearing very little clothing, so the touch didn't feel very smooth to Ang Lee.

But he wasn't in the mood to pay attention to such things right now. He turned on his phone's flashlight, hoping to shine some light.

The phone's light remained on as usual, but the bright white light that should have been dazzling in the darkness appeared somewhat dim, as if some of its brightness had been swallowed up by the surrounding darkness.

However, the moment the phone light came on, Ang Lee finally saw who the dark figure outside the bed was in the dim light, but the result made him tremble all over.

That's definitely not a living person!

It was a female corpse, dressed in tattered mountaineering clothes, covered in lividity, missing an arm, and with half of her head rotting and drooping!
