Chapter 6: An Alternative Reboot!!
Rongfa Residential Complex, Unit 3, Building 7, Room 702
This is Wang Liang's residence in Dachang City. In one of the bedrooms, there is a photo of Wang Liang's class reunion taken during his university years on the bedside table.

In the photo, a group of people are gathered around a round table in a private room of a restaurant, smiling and looking towards the camera. On the table is a boiling hot pot and various dishes.

Among them, Wang Liang and two boys sat side by side at the back left of the round table, arms around each other, smiling brightly at the camera, showing their youthful vitality.

At this time, the neighborhood was still shrouded in the long night, and the bedroom was dark with no lights on.

But just then, the chandelier in the bedroom suddenly flickered a few times and lit up on its own, its light flashing intermittently, as if the current was unstable.

In this uncertain environment, in the class reunion photo with Wang Liang's portrait, Wang Liang, who was originally smiling brightly, suddenly lost his smile and became indifferent.

The bedroom light flickered, and Wang Liang from the photo mysteriously appeared in the entire class dinner photo, right at the very front of everyone.

The space between the two men who were originally arm in arm with Wang Liang at the back was now empty, making it seem as if the two men were arm in arm with thin air, which was quite strange.

The bedroom light flickered again.

Now, Wang Liang's figure in the photo is as if he has stepped in front of the camera, his size so large that he covers the entire photo, completely obscuring the classmates behind him, turning the photo into a solo portrait of Wang Liang.

The chandelier and table lamp in the bedroom started making a high-frequency crackling sound, and the whole room flickered continuously and was extremely unstable, as if there was a problem with the electrical circuit.

At this moment, some inexplicable supernatural phenomenon seemed to have reached its limit. Suddenly, an arm stretched out eerily from the photo on the bedside table.

His outstretched hand gripped the edge of the cabinet, veins bulging on the back of his hand, as he pulled hard on the edge, trying to drag his entire body out of the photo.

Head, upper body, lower body, and finally, Wang Liang's entire body strangely crawled out of a palm-sized photograph.

He rolled over and fell onto the wooden floor of the bedroom, lying on his back, panting heavily.

The Wang Liang who suddenly appeared was wearing the same clothes he wore for the university photo shoot: casual clothes, Martin boots, and a black overcoat, completely different from what he wore in the classroom.

The people in the photos have invaded reality, but Wang Liang is no longer seen in the class reunion photo on the bedside table.

"Whew, whew, ha, this is actually an alternative reboot! It actually works!"

Wang Liang propped himself up on the bed beside him, his expression a mixture of relief at escaping death and excitement at discovering that he could actually achieve an alternative reboot.

At this moment, all the lividity that had appeared on his body had disappeared, and he appeared to be completely unharmed.

Upon closer inspection, he even looks a bit younger, resembling the appearance he had when he was about to graduate from university.

Wang Liang was very excited, because this was a reboot, a power that only top-tier ghost tamers could master.

Whether it's a time restart, or this alternative restart, restarting itself, or restarting a range of things.

Anything involving rebooting is an incredibly exaggerated, magical ability that is unimaginable to ordinary people, or even most ghost tamers.

Wang Liang truly never expected that Sadako, who was now missing a piece of the puzzle and couldn't even be released from the Ghost Realm, could actually achieve this kind of alternative reboot.

Moreover, it can completely ignore distance, forcibly break through the ghost's ghost domain, and escape, restarting outside.

In movies and TV shows, Sadako possesses a wide array of abilities: resurrection, curses, teleportation, infinite clones, healing, precognition, and even control over fear and dreams—a truly comprehensive and dazzling power. Now, it's unclear whether this is due to missing pieces in the supernatural puzzle or changes caused by the rules of a mysteriously resurrected world.

Wang Liang's ability to unleash the supernatural power of Sadako is actually quite singular, but very powerful, and he can even derive some of the abilities mentioned above from it.

This ability is Sadako's curse. Wang Liang can use Sadako's ability to cast a curse on anything that bears his image.

Whether it's the reflection in glass, the glare from a phone screen, or anything containing Wang Liang's image, such as photos or videos, he can sense it all and use it as a medium to release a curse from afar.

Now that Wang Liang has just acquired supernatural powers, he has experienced confrontation, restart, and escape in a short period of time, which has given him a deeper understanding and familiarity with Sadako's supernatural powers.

Although Sadako's supernatural behavior was merely releasing a curse, we can draw on the experience gained from the recent reboot.

Wang Liang discovered that he could actually release three different levels of curses, thereby achieving some of the effects of Sadako's abilities in movies and TV shows.

The first type, a common curse, can use things that reflect Wang Liang's image as a medium to transform them into a derivative Sadako for attacks.

Its strength is certainly not as high as Sadako's original form, but it is not weak either. It can put up a certain degree of resistance and suppression against less dangerous ghosts.

After having experienced fighting the door-knocking ghost once, although he failed, Wang Liang reflected on the situation and summarized his experience. He realized that he didn't seem to need to release the curse only once in the fight.

He might try casting curses on multiple ghostly gray lines at once, attempting to summon multiple derivative Sadako; that might make the supernatural battle more effective.

But whether it's really feasible, and if so, whether there's an upper limit to the number of curses that can be released at the same time, he hasn't had time to try it yet; he just feels that it should be possible.

The second, deeper curse was discovered during the reboot process.

By continuously releasing supernatural phenomena, Wang Liang can directly transmit a portion of his consciousness into the medium, allowing him to see the situation at the medium from a different perspective.

In that situation, he even felt that he could remotely transform that medium into a derivative Sadako, launch supernatural attacks from an extremely long distance, and control the derivative Sadako's specific actions with his transmitted consciousness.

However, this behavior of investing part of one's consciousness into the media for observation and control seems unsustainable for long periods of time.

During the initial restart process, only a portion of Wang Liang's consciousness was briefly transferred over, causing that part of his consciousness to experience a strange sense of fragmentation and disorientation, which only subsided after the entire consciousness was transferred over.

Wang Liang didn't know what the consequences would be if he stayed there for too long, leading to loss of consciousness or the fragmentation of his mind, but the thought itself was not a good thing.

This also made Wang Liang realize that if he was only transmitting a portion of consciousness, he could at most turn that medium into a derivative Sadako and manipulate it.

We must never completely re-enact and restart this partially conscious medium; otherwise, it would be playing with split personality, which might lead to the simultaneous existence of two Wang Liangs, and the consequences would be very difficult to handle.

The third type is a more severe curse. As the curse is released, Wang Liang can transmit his entire consciousness along the gray lines to a certain medium, completely abandoning his current body.

Instead, they re-embody and reboot through a medium, using the supernatural to create a new body and achieve an alternative reboot of the entire person.

With this ability, Wang Liang can say that as long as he is not instantly killed, or his consciousness is not grabbed by some strange supernatural force and constantly followed by attacks, his probability of death is greatly reduced and his survival ability is greatly improved.
