Chapter 215 It hurts, it hurts
Even so, it only lasted a few seconds.

Liu Kang's clothes on one arm were torn to shreds, and several patches of skin on his arm disappeared, revealing the scarlet flesh beneath.

Dai Yuan even had a large patch of skin missing from his face, making him look extremely ferocious.

"Damn it, we can't get rid of them. If we have to fight these scumbags, the worst that can happen is that the vengeful ghosts will resurrect, and we'll have lived a worthwhile life!" Liu Kang said in shock and anger.

"Okay, you do it then, I'll find a chance to slip away."

Dai Yuan, however, did not want to give up and give up, so he rejected Liu Kang's suggestion and was ready to run away at any time.

"you!"

On the street, just as Liu Kang was preparing to fight desperately and Dai Yuan was preparing to take the opportunity to escape.

The dozen or so human skins that had been floating in the air above the town, wailing incessantly in the wind, suddenly stopped bobbing up and down, and even the wailing ceased.

Like spirits that have lost their attachment, they have become ordinary human skin, slowly drifting down to the ground and scattering around the two bewildered people.

Dai Yuan carefully used the tip of his shoe to poke at a piece of human skin that was not moving, and found that it really was not moving and was no longer sticky.

What's going on with these human skins?

"You're asking me? Who am I supposed to ask?" Liu Kang said coldly, somewhat annoyed that Dai Yuan was about to run away.

tread.

Footsteps came from the entrance of the town. The two turned around and their expressions changed immediately.

Because his body was now devoid of skin, covered in blood, and so stitched together that it was impossible to tell whether he was male or female, the vengeful ghost walked in.

"run!"

The two didn't care about the condition of the human skin and hurriedly ran forward along the street.

"It's too obvious on the street, let's go inside!" Liu Kang said in a deep voice, and took the lead in turning into a house on the side of the street, with Dai Yuan following closely behind.

Hiding in the room, the two quickly drew all the curtains in the first-floor room. Liu Kang carefully observed the situation on the street through a small gap in the curtains.

“They didn’t chase after us,” Liu Kang said.

"Good news, it seems we're safe for now. Next, we just need to find Wang Liang and follow him."

Dai Yuan didn't squeeze in to observe; instead, he looked at the scenery inside the room.

He didn't discover anything strange; it was just too normal, like the home of an ordinary family in a foreign country.

The kitchen was fully equipped with bowls, cutlery, and utensils. A men's shirt lay scattered on the living room sofa, and the shoe cabinet contained a variety of shoes, including men's and women's, as well as a child's slippers. Everywhere showed signs of previous human habitation.

A photo of the three of them on the cabinet shows that it is a family of three, with a lovely daughter.

Dai Yuan went to the shoe cabinet, picked up the photo, sighed, and suddenly became a little sentimental.

"Sigh, my daughter is about that age now. If I can return to reality this time, I'll go back and spend some quality time with them."

After confirming that no vengeful ghosts were following, Liu Kang got up from behind the curtains, looked at Dai Yuan, and sneered:
"Ha, spending time with family? That's too much of a luxury for people like us. Let's focus on surviving first. Don't you want to take the bus anymore?"
Having finally found out there was still a way to run the bus, I couldn't just give up without trying. I had to get on that bus again; I had to survive! To survive to the very end!

Dai Yuan shook his head silently, staring at the photo in a daze.

"Alright, stop looking at your lousy photos. It's just a family of three. Why are you being so dramatic? You search the first floor, and I'll go check the second floor. Once I've confirmed that this room is safe, we'll hide here and wait for the others to enter the town before we go find Wang Liang together."

"Not many will survive." Dai Yuan sighed and put down the photo.

"One is one."

After Liu Kang finished speaking with a cold laugh, he walked upstairs.

He arrived at a bedroom, kicked the door open, and the door slammed against the wall with a thud.

This is a little girl's bedroom, with pink wallpaper covering the walls.

The blankets were spread out on the bed, and there was a doll next to the pillow with button eyes that quietly watched Liu Kang as he entered the room.

Liu Kang looked around the room and frowned when he saw the doll staring at him.

He walked over, picked up the doll, and examined it. After confirming it was just an ordinary doll, Liu Kang grinned maliciously and twisted off the doll's head. "Like it? Hmph."

After casually tossing away the doll whose head had been twisted off, Liu Kang then abruptly pulled back the covers.

There was a group photo under the blanket, but it wasn't the family photo of the three people that Dai Yuan had just been holding.

It was actually a group photo of a bunch of foreign children sitting in three rows, wearing matching outfits.

The back of the group photo also has English names written on it, corresponding to the people in the photo.

This looks like a group photo taken at the graduation ceremony of a kindergarten in a foreign country.

"What the heck? These aren't supernatural items, so why are they all placed in such strange positions?"

Liu Kang fumbled around for the photo hidden under the blanket, and after confirming that it was just an ordinary photo, he felt somewhat embarrassed and angry. His emotions fluctuated greatly, and he tore it to pieces and threw it on the bed.

"You're wasting my time."

After throwing away the photo fragments, Liu Kang prepared to turn around and leave the bedroom.

Before he could even turn around, he heard the sound of a sharp blade cutting through the air behind him.

The hairs on his neck stood on end, and he felt a chilling sensation rapidly approaching his neck.

Liu Kang shuddered and instinctively shifted to the side.

puff.

"Ahhh!"

Liu Kang let out a scream and collapsed to the ground in pain, splattering blood everywhere and staining the floor of the room red.

Blood was gushing from his shoulder, and his entire left arm was gone.

A severed arm was thrown to his side with a thud; the cut was smooth, as if it had been severed cleanly at the root by some kind of sharp blade.

Liu Kang screamed in terror on the ground, still confused about what had happened.

He felt intense pain, so intense that he almost fainted.

That shouldn't be the case. This little bit of pain is nothing compared to the resurgence of the vengeful spirit within me when I use its power.

He should have felt numb, but he was in so much pain that he couldn't get up for a long time. He was gradually losing strength all over his body, and his mind was almost blank, so he didn't have time to think about anything else.

Amidst screams, Liu Kang rolled over on the ground and happened to look up.

Then his body trembled, and even his screams temporarily ceased.

The reason was that a strange man wearing a brown-black round hat and a red and green striped sweater had appeared in the room at some unknown time.

On his right hand was a sharp, metal claw glove, its cold light gleaming as blood dripped from it—his own blood.

The man with iron claws was standing in front of the bed, bending down and reaching out to use his sharp claws to trace the fragments of photos scattered on the bed, and the faces of the children in the photos.

The blood flowing from the claws stained the child in the fragments of the photo red, and also tore the bed sheet, leaving several lacerations.

Then the man with the iron claws wearing a black round hat suddenly turned his head to look at Liu Kang, who was trembling on the ground.

Only then did Liu Kang see the man's face clearly, but he trembled even more violently.

What a terrifying face it was.

His face was completely disfigured, almost entirely covered in scars left by severe burns, pitted and uneven. Just one glance at it increased Liu Kang's fear.

If Wang Liang were here, he would recognize this vengeful ghost at a glance.

Freddy!
