Chapter 194 The Underworld Lord Spreads His Wealth

Chapter 194 The Underworld Lord Spreads His Wealth
Of those three Kunlun Immortal Mountains, Liang Yu specifically reserved one for use as a Reincarnation Pool. However, the reincarnation process consumes a certain amount of energy from the immortal mountain, so it's unlikely that this immortal mountain will be usable as a blessed land for earth immortals in the short term.

In other words, although Liang Yu possessed several extraordinary lands, none of them could be directly put into use to cultivate Earth Immortals.

But it's not so bad, since even if he had a rare and unusual place to spare, he might not be able to find a suitable person, and even if he did, the person might not be willing to take this path. Cultivating a terrestrial immortal is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Therefore, after much thought, Liang Yu could only leave it to fate and wait patiently on the path to immortality in the mortal world for the next hundreds of thousands of years.

However, this means that the person currently best positioned to cultivate Earth Immortals is still the Underworld Lord. This is because he not only possesses the Underworld itself, but also the Kunlun Immortal Mountain. However, he has run out of time.

The Underworld Lord participated in Liang Yu's operation in the Fishing Forbidden Zone, even helping him destroy the Immortal Tomb and jointly researching the mysteries of several wondrous places. After the mission was accomplished, he not only advanced his Source Technique but also completed the Underworld Scripture. In addition, he also obtained a Kunlun Immortal Mountain.

The Kunlun Immortal Mountain obtained by the Underworld Lord was not centered around the Kunlun Immortal Pool, but rather around another divine spring, making it quite different from the other two Kunlun Immortal Mountains. Regardless, however, this Kunlun Immortal Mountain could indeed be used as a blessed land for earthly immortals.

In addition, there is the Netherworld, where he awoke in this life, and the name of the Netherworld Lord is related to this. This wondrous place can naturally also be used as a blessed land for Earth Immortals. Although the Netherworld Lord has the highest compatibility with it and has almost completely mastered the Netherworld Scripture, he does not intend to walk the path of Earth Immortals. Therefore, it is still necessary to find someone else to use this place.

But the Underworld Lord himself is already close to being buried and beginning his next life. If it weren't for his agreement with Liang Yu to jointly wipe out the forbidden zone, he would have wanted to find a place to bury himself long ago. After all, the accumulation he made in this life was already substantial enough.

Upon seeing Liang Yu, Daode Tianzun, Lingbao Tianzun, Yuanshi Tianzun, and now Changsheng Tianzun, Mingzun felt a sense of urgency.

His predecessor, the Heavenly Venerable of Tribulation Crossing, was the first Daoist of this era, and also the first Daoist of this era to establish his own path to immortality in the mortal world. Therefore, he was still somewhat proud.

But through his experiences over the years, he realized that his progress was likely much slower than these people's, and even his apprentice, who had only recently lived a second life, might surpass him. After all, his path would take far too long.

The transformation of the Underworld Lord was different from those who followed the path of the Mortal Immortal or the Earth Immortal. For most of his subsequent lives, he had no memories of his previous lives, and his cultivation started from scratch. Therefore, what he left behind in this life was basically to be abandoned or given to others.

Therefore, the Underworld Lord felt he needed to accelerate his efforts and focus on researching a faster and more stable path to immortality. He also decided to entrust the things he left behind in this life to others, or simply release them back into the universe.

In the original timeline, when the Underworld Lord began his next life, he didn't even bring the Heavenly Underworld Treasure with him, let alone the things he left behind.

After everyone had finished their discussion and were about to disperse, the Underworld Lord called out to the Primordial Heavenly Lord.

Yuanshi Tianzun asked in confusion, "Master... Fellow Daoist Mingzun, why have you summoned me?"

At the insistence of the Underworld Lord, the Primordial Heavenly Lord had no choice but to address the Underworld Lord as "Fellow Daoist," though he was still not quite used to it. With a wave of his hand, the Underworld Lord summoned a colossal treasure wheel that flew out from the Underworld and landed in his hand. Using a technique that could shrink mountains with the sun and moon, he held the Kunlun Immortal Mountain, supported by the Heavenly Treasure, in his palm and handed it to the Primordial Heavenly Lord.

He said, “My life is coming to an end, and my path is far different from yours. Perhaps we will not have many opportunities to meet again until I have achieved complete success. So I think I should entrust this sacred mountain to you. Whether you use it as a Taoist temple or as a blessed land for earth immortals, it is up to you.”

Seeing that Yuanshi Tianzun wanted to refuse, Mingzun sighed, "It's rare for me to be willing to give away my treasures and act as a generous benefactor. You still don't want it? If you really don't want it, I'll have to put on airs as your master."

Throughout his interactions with Yuanshi Tianzun, Mingzun never considered himself his master; in fact, he specifically requested that Yuanshi Tianzun not regard him as such. Of course, this did not change Yuanshi Tianzun's mind; it merely altered his form of address.

Now that the Underworld Lord is subtly using his status as the master to exert pressure, the Primordial Heavenly Lord has no choice but to accept it.

The Underworld Lord patted him on the shoulder and said, "I know you have people you can't bear to part with. Perhaps the Earth Immortal Technique is one way to do that."

The Netherworld Lord was referring to the pink-clad girl sealed within the Immortal Source by the Primordial Heavenly Lord. Her talent was too poor to attain immortality, hence the Primordial Heavenly Lord had no choice but to do this. He did not believe in reincarnation, believing himself to be the sole ruler; naturally, he would not let go of this life, leaving hope for the next.

But even those who have attained enlightenment cannot guarantee immortality, let alone a lowly cultivator with average cultivation.

However, although the Underworld Lord was merely looking for a reason to get the Primordial Heavenly Lord to accept his gift, the Primordial Heavenly Lord had actually already considered this method, but simply had no clue how to proceed. Nevertheless, with Kunlun Immortal Mountain present, it was better to be prepared.

Yuanshi Tianzun smiled slightly and said, "Fellow Daoist Mingzun is making his final arrangements. If I didn't know your path to immortality, I would probably be feeling sad right now."

Of course, that's what they say, but Yuanshi Tianzun did indeed have some sorrow and longing for parting.

The Lord of the Underworld said, "Making arrangements for my funeral? I really am making arrangements for my funeral. After all, in the next life, I will not be myself. When I think of you again, you may no longer be alive."

Yuanshi Tianzun nodded, but then thought, "Not in the mortal world? Is that right?" Although he should indeed be in the Immortal Realm or at least a strange world by then, this statement still sounded odd and ominous.
The two waved goodbye, and the Underworld Lord returned to the Underworld. He summoned the Ancient Tree of Life, imbued it with a divine power, and then sent it into the vast starry sky. He had specifically sought out this tree to study the Dao of life and death. Now that he had achieved his Dao, the tree naturally no longer needed to remain in this environment.

After all, while the Ancient Tree of Life could survive in the Netherworld, a place filled with deathly energy, yin energy, and corpse energy, it was ultimately not very suitable. Liang Yu had told him about the plan for the Immortal Elixir to take human form, so the Netherworld Lord placed it in the starry sky, leaving it for future generations.

Then, he held the Heavenly Nether Treasure in his palm and began to ponder.
