Moen looked at the slogan written on the wooden wall.

"Who goes there?! Don't come any closer!"

Before Moen could even knock on the door, someone in the wooden watchtower on the wall shouted loudly, demanding that Moen and his group not approach the wall any further.

"Whoosh whoosh!"

Several whooshing sounds rang out as a few arrows struck the open ground not far in front of Moen. This was both a warning and a reminder; the distance of these arrows clearly indicated they were not intended to harm anyone.

These islanders don't want to implicate other visitors.
Moen immediately understood the intentions of these people; they were using cruel methods to drive away those who wanted to come to the island to rest.

"We are mages from Fairy Tail!"

Before Moen could speak, Natsu, who was standing next to him, started shouting and jumping around. He had obviously fully recovered. No matter how severe their motion sickness was, they would basically recover immediately after getting off the vehicle.

"Fairy Tail?!"

Upon hearing the name, a commotion clearly arose inside the enclosure, with many people whispering among themselves. They all seemed to know about the commission, which was likely posted by everyone on the island, with the rewards pooled together by the islanders.

"How can you prove you're mages from Fairy Tail?!"

Soon, news came from inside the walls that some people were doubting their identities.

"what?!"

Natsu and Gray were both stunned. Natsu dramatically picked at his ear, while Gray frowned, clearly baffled by the suspicion. What good would it do to impersonate them?

“We have a crest, the Fairy Tail crest, it's easily recognizable.”

Lucy reacted quickly, raising her hand to reveal the pink Fairy Tail crest on the back of her hand.

Several figures peeked out from the wall and, after seeing the Fairy Tail emblem, they discussed the matter and eventually actually opened the gate in the wall.

'No? You actually believed that?'
Moen opened his mouth, completely unprepared for this turn of events. Although the Fairy Tail crest was indeed very special and had many unique functions, it could definitely be forged, at least in terms of its appearance.

"To believe something simply by looking at its emblem is no different from believing it outright."

Moen scoffed, not believing that these people could see anything special about the Fairy Tail guild crest.

"Kakaka!"

No matter how much Moen complained, the heavy, scratched, and moss-covered wooden door slowly opened inwards, and in the end, the islanders chose to believe their identities.

Moen looked through the wooden door and saw that a number of people had already gathered at the entrance.

These people were dressed in simple, rough clothing, mostly made of animal hides and coarse cloth, or they were bare-chested. Their faces mostly showed fear, wariness, and a hint of expectation, hoping that Fairy Tail could help them solve their problems.

"Hello, I am Moen Dreyer, a mage from Fairy Tail. You're the one who issued the request regarding Galna Island, right?"

Moen took the lead, holding the commission form and asking the crowd questions. His gaze fell on the bald old man standing at the very front.

It can't be said that he's bald; the old man has quite a lot of white hair on both sides of his head, but the top of his head is completely bald. This old man must be the leader.

"That's right. It's us. You came so quickly."

The old man stepped forward, and he was indeed the leader. In fact, it was quite obvious. He stood in the middle and was holding a strange crescent-shaped scepter.

"What a coincidence, I happen to have some time."

Moen nodded. He looked at these people and found them rather strange; their bodies exhibited obvious inhuman characteristics.

Among the group, some had sharp horns like wild beasts on their heads, some had scales covering their arms, some had thick fur on their faces, and some dragged a thick tail. All of them had undergone physical mutations, just like the guide who had led the way before.

"Tell me what happened."

Moen gestured to the old man, asking him to explain the specific situation on the island so they could proceed with their next steps.

"Okay, thank you."

The old village chief naturally obeyed and immediately began to recount what had happened on the island, something they were completely unable to handle.

“Mutations have occurred in each of us, and it’s not just humans; even the animals on the island have mutated. The reason we erected the wall and are so on high alert is to protect the animals on the island, as they have become more dangerous.”

Moen and his group had already verified the old village chief's words on their way here. They had indeed encountered some obviously mutated animals, and they were also very aggressive. Even a mutated rabbit dared to attack them, but they easily dealt with it.

Do animals revert to their original form during the day?

Moen asked, as they already knew that humans would revert to their original form after dawn.

"That's right, but like us humans, some of them will be unable to recover and will become complete monsters."

The old village chief nodded, giving the answer that Moen had already guessed. As he spoke, the old village chief even started to shed tears. He was clutching a photograph in his hand, and the person in the photo looked somewhat familiar.

"Wait a moment!"

Lucy also saw the photo, and her face immediately changed, as if she had seen a ghost. What did this photo mean?
Not only Lucy, but Gray also clearly saw it, only Natsu was slow to realize what had happened and still didn't know what had happened.

"What will happen if it doesn't turn back?"

Moen naturally understood what Gray and Lucy were worried about. In fact, he was a little confused himself and wanted to confirm it as well.

"You'll die."

The old village chief revealed the outcome, but he didn't go into details about how the person died. Clearly, they had all prepared contingency plans, and if someone didn't revert back to their original state, they would take appropriate measures.

"."

Moen turned around and exchanged glances with Gray and Lucy. They all saw the surprise in each other's eyes, which meant that the "guide" who had brought them here had actually passed away.

Is he a ghost?

Lucy asked Gray in a low voice, her voice trembling slightly. She could actually fight ghosts, but she still couldn't help feeling afraid when it came to such beings.

"Perhaps he died with his eyes open in anger and wanted us to avenge him."

Gray answered quietly, more composed than Lucy. Anyway, it was all in the past, and there was no point in thinking about it anymore. This explained the reason why the old man suddenly disappeared. He had brought Fairy Tail here.

So what should we do?

Completely unaware of what was going on, Natsu asked bluntly, "What exactly is their mission objective?"
"This is all the moon's curse! Please destroy that moon!"

The old village chief was quite direct; he expressed their understanding.

Regarding the strange changes on their bodies, their first instinct was naturally to consult doctors. However, after consulting dozens of doctors, none of them could find anything wrong with them; they were all perfectly healthy, and it wasn't an illness. Therefore, they naturally began to suspect the only change: the "moon," the one that had suddenly turned purple.

"Ahhh!"

As they were talking, the purple "moon" in the sky shone brightly again, and the villagers under the moonlight underwent a strange transformation. Originally, only a small part of their bodies were non-human, but now, they all turned into monsters.

"How come we're alright?"

Gray frowned and asked a question.

They were also under the illumination of this purple "moon," but unlike the villagers, they did not undergo any changes.

"Perhaps it hasn't been long enough; we didn't see any changes at the beginning."

The old village chief replied that although they had turned into monsters, they clearly still retained their rationality; only those who couldn't turn back during the day would go completely insane.

"Yes, that's certainly possible."

Moen nodded. He could sense that the moonlight contained magic, but of course, he kept it all out.

"But...destroying the moon and all that?"

Natsu scratched his head. Even he thought this was unreliable. How could it be destroyed so easily?

"Of course not. Didn't Master already say that this is the effect of the Moon Drop ritual? We just need to find and destroy the ritual. After the ritual is lifted, the moon will be restored and everything will return to normal."

Lucy explained in a low voice, "Natsu, when he should be paying attention, he doesn't understand anything."

"Let's rest for a bit and then take action first thing tomorrow morning."

Moen made a decision: that night he would release the crows to begin a massive search, turning the entire island upside down.

"Please follow me, we have prepared a room for you."

The old village chief, who had become a "demon," led the way. Their village could still spare a room for the four people and the cat.

After leading Moen and the others to a wooden house, the old village chief left.

"There's only one bedroom?"

Looking at the layout of the empty wooden cabin, Moen smiled and shook his head. He didn't ask for anything more. When you're out on a mission, having this kind of accommodation is already pretty good. Many times, you even have to sleep in the wilderness.

Lucy was completely accepting of this. To be honest, in the current situation, she wouldn't really want to sleep alone in a room. Things here were just too strange and scary, and she didn't want to be separated from everyone for even a moment longer.

The night passed quickly, and the next morning, Moen woke up Lucy, Natsu, Gray, and Happy, who were all sleeping in the same room. They were all dressed, and as soon as Moen called them, the three of them and the cat immediately got up.

When they were on a mission, they didn't need to be so meticulous. They ate some dry rations and left the village to set off.

"I located the enemy's stronghold last night."

Moen led the way. The crows had searched all night and naturally had a fruitful search. He led everyone to a temple.

"Deliora is right here."

Standing before the temple, Moen spoke up, saying, "That's right, he has even found the location of 'Deliora'."

"Where is the enemy? Where is the enemy?!"

Natsu immediately became excited, and his fists began to flame.

"Where are the enemies of the S-rank mission? Where are the people guarding Deliora? I can't wait to fight!"

Natsu took the lead and charged straight into the temple, fearing that if he was even a step too late, the enemies would all be taken care of by Moengo.

"Come on, let's go in too."

Moen shook his head and chuckled, gesturing for Gray, who looked grave, and Lucy, who was waiting for his instructions, to follow Natsu into the temple.

Moen did not intend to act rashly, but planned to let Natsu, Gray, and Lucy fight first, while he would be responsible for supporting them and covering their retreat. The news brought back by the crows yesterday was very straightforward: the enemies on this island were of fairly average strength.

The four people and one cat entered the "Temple of the Moon," which was filled with mysterious "crescent moon symbols" that were clearly related to the "purple moon."

"Where is it?! Where is it?!"

Natsu rushed into the temple, shouting excitedly, but he didn't see anyone at all. It seemed to be a completely abandoned temple, with no one guarding it at all.

"How is this going?"

Natsu scratched his head and asked Moen, "This isn't what I expected!"

"Deliora is down there."

Moen smiled and pointed to the ground. This abandoned temple was just a disguise; the real secrets were hidden beneath it.

"boom!"

Moen stepped on the ground, and the temple floor immediately collapsed. The group lost their footing and began to plummet downwards.

"quack!!!"

Several crows flew up from below and caught the four of them safely. Harpy, on the other hand, had wings and easily flew down with them.

"Did those people dig this out?"

Lucy was shocked. These people had dug right through the temple! It was like a maze of tunnels running all the way down there.

"Come with me, Deliora is right here."

Moen continued to lead the way. After finding the place yesterday, many of the crows had stayed behind to guard the cave.

"Their defenses were very lax, or even nonexistent. They only came in to check once that night, and just glanced at it before leaving. They probably didn't expect anyone to break in."

While leading the way, Moen kept complaining.

Gray's senior brother, Leon, is definitely not cut out for great things. He is lax in managing his subordinates, careless himself, and his strength is also quite average.

You could say that this was the real early-game monster, but in the face of Natsu, Gray, and Lucy now, he can't cause any trouble, and there's no need for Moen to take action personally.

As they talked, the four people and the cat arrived in front of a huge ice sculpture. Judging from Gray's expression, this huge ice sculpture was "Deliora". The demon frozen in the ice was "Deliora", who had destroyed Gray's life twice.
